Lovely place, was really hoping to get some moon pies but none will be made until relocated at new facility. Heard about the place a year ago and finally found it lol. Owner is very kind, made us feel welcomed and not shy away from jumping at the opportunity to showcase her menu. Food was delish! 4 stars — service, hot food, fresh, clean, menu and prices were easy to understand, definitely no hidden fees lol –1 star — hard to find location, no dessert, may be relocating further away from me now :(lol The prices are high but not in a bad way. We ordered 4 turkey tails, bananas in coconut milk, sausages and our total was about 25ish. Great food and worth the amount.

I live here in Sacramento and heard so many great things about this place. I finally was able to check it out and boy was I glad to. I instantly fell in love with the first bite of their Lu’kapa pulu(marinated coconut canned beef wrapped with taro leaves). If you’re a Pacific Islander and need your Island food fix, this place will surely do that for you! For all others who are not familiar with the flavors of the Island of Tonga, Samoa or Fiji the owner(and cook) Cynthia is a lovely Samoan woman who is more than willing to share with you what the ingredients are and how it was prepared. I salute her for undertaking a business venture like this and support her for sharing our culture one plate at a time. I definitely recommend a cup of her yummy Otai(I’m sure she has various flavors but the one I tried was her Mango, Coconut, Pineapple infused in milk and cream) super yummy! Enjoy and you won’t be disappointed!

I visited this place after seeing them on the news the other day. The people are friendly and the food is good. The flavor is true to the Polynesian culture, especially that of Samoa and Tonga. It’s nice to have a local place around that serves decent Poly that wasn’t made in my kitchen and that isn’t a commercialized business. I just wish they had a few more options to choose and the location is kind of weird. The prices are fairly decent, but could use a little tweaking. All in all it’s worth trying and I will most likely go back.

From the East Bay so we wanted to try it while we were in the area. I wish we lived close by cause we would definitely eat here at least once or twice a week. Everything was sooooooooo delicious! Great quality of food, customer service and clean.

Found this place by chance & so glad I did! So far have tried their chicken curry, chop suey(like chow mein or pancit), sausage, turkey tail, banana, pineapple pie, cookies — everything has been delicious! And the owner Cynthia is so nice & patient explaining what the different dishes are. They’re a bit hard to find(on Ramona, off of Power Inn, across the street from the courthouse), but definitely a hidden gem. And SO reasonably priced! Will be back on a regular basis now. I will eventually eat my way through the entire menu ;-)

I’m so happy that there’s a Polynesian restaurant that’s closer to home instead of making a trip to the Bay. The food is delicious! My parents bought a variety of plates so that we can sample everything. My favorite was the sausage, lu, turkey tails, and the green bananas. The turkey tails is to die for! My 3yr old loved it! My husband(who’s palangi) and 3yr old loved the Pineapple Moon Pies. This is a great place to come to if you’re craving poly food.

For years now my sister and I have been looking for a nearby place to satisfy our desire for Polynesian edibles. I came to this little hideaway three times before I was able to catch it open. I treated my close colleagues to lunch one day. Cynthia was a delight to have help us decided on the items on the plate to go. She’s very personable and a joy to talk too. All the items we purchase were wonderfully spiced in the original way I remembered from my younger years. The turkey tails were extremely flavorful. My personal favorite was the yams. I could just get a large orders of those and be happy. The banana took me an hour to chew and eat. Each time I finished a bite of the banana I would go back for another bite. The chopped suey was very interesting. I enjoyed the way it compliment any bite of food. We had ordered almost everything she had out on her counter. My colleagues would not share the sausage or the greens.

Since I found it on Unilocal,it’s only appropriate that I leave a review. I love that there’s a place that serves the kind of food that I can only find at family/friends’ parties! Everything was great overall, but the lu pulumasima was amazing. I was too full to order anymore but I made sure to take a bowl of ota to go. I’ll be back for the otai once it gets warmer!

unfortunately our visit to this restaurant wasn’t very pleasant. we thought it would be one of the best Polynesian food but it had no taste! chicken curry had more patotoes then chicken, lamb with coconut milk and leaf was horrible! I cook lamb a lot and I know that lambs aren’t so chewy like rubber. food was cold, they didn’t even warm it up! I will never recommend this place to my friends and families or anyone else!!! It was a waste of money!!!

Daughter found out about this place on Unilocal. We went in for lunch and tried everything that Cynthia had out. Everything was excellent. The greens were super flavorful. The turkey tails were deliciously prepared. The sausage is authentic Samoan brand sausage. The tilapia was a favorite. We bought a pineapple pie to take home and ate it for dessert with ice cream. Fantastic new find. Will definitely turn others on to it. And it’s right by Granite Park where my son plays soccer. Keep up the good work Cynthia!

I’ve been to a few poly restaurants, but all of them in the Bay Area. Which is why it is rare that my wife and I get to go out to eat something she is guaranteed to like. Those restaurants would usually have a few things that even I could eat. When I heard Sapatu was in town I knew I had to take my wife. What I wasn’t prepared for was that I would like everything my wife would make me eat. Hot damn if this white boy wasn’t shocked that poly food at a restaurant could actually be great!!! I even killed the fish, which I think had my wife wondering if hell had froze over. Nothing tasted cheap or quickly prepared. There’s a lot of love and expertise in that food. Prices are reasonable, and oh did I mention the food is crazy good!!!

EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! I am Hawaiian myself and I think it’s a real shame that someone would have the audacity to give a low rating because there was no Hawaiian food during their particular visit! REALLY! Instead of coming along side a fellow Polynesian and supporting their business, particularly because there aren’t many Polynesian businesses as it is, your rating it based on that? That’s premature… it says Polynesian NOT Hawaiian. I have been there several times and there has been a variety of different dishes each time. This is my son’s favorite place to have a meal. We LOVE it! The portions are huge for the price, the service is friendly and I haven’t eaten anything here I didn’t absolutely love. It’s the only Poly restaurant in the area and I certainly hope they are here for the long haul! Keep up the excellent work! BESTFOODINSAC!!! The only issue I have is that I wish it were open seven days a week! :) ONELOVE!!!
