Sunrise Mall Sears Studio:
We went here with a groupon in December. First of all we waited at least 30 minutes past our scheduled appt. When we came in we were asked to pic backgrounds so we did. When I showed them to the photographer she said 2 of the 4 were for kids only because of the size. Okay… then we went back and the photographer, who was nice, asked us how we wanted to pose etc. (this is why I pay for pics!!!).
After the session we waited over an hour. Then we met with a lady who was not friendly and pushy. The computer screen was terrible and they had no way to separate pics out so that you could see which ones you wanted. the pics with the backgrounds for kids were terrible. My kids looked like giants in a village of Christmas houses. The whole experience was terrible.
When we picked up the pics we noticed several problems with printing. Our family picture is beautiful because we look like we are glowing. My daughter is holding a stuffed animal that is completely washed out in the print. My skin is washed out so it looks sooooo smooth. But come on use some good ink and paper!!!
My middle daughter’s picture cut off her whole right side, so they had to re order.
Today, two months later, I call to see if the pic we re ordered is in. They can’t find anything under our name. Now I have to go find the session number so they can look it up.
I would say you pay what you get for but I have had better luck at a lot of other photo places – even one hour, so that isn’t always true.
If you plan to go here just plan to take the day and then some more time to get pics reprinted later.

Never again will I take any pictures at this place. How can a place be running late, when there is no one there but me. Then i got a newbie or something, because she didn’t know how to take any pictures, and she asked me to put my son in poses I wanted. Then i was told that i had to prop him and try to make him laugh at the same time, since he can’t sit and he wasn’t smiling… and they would hide my arms with sheets! Really??? She was so bad, becasue she would take the picture when my son was smiling. she would click after! Shouldn’t she be clicking constantly, I wanted to quit, but I couldn’t because she didn’t take enough poses yet. I was like, then takes some pictures! Then she tried to get me to buy a package that is worth $ 1400 for $ 500…I’m like please! Don’t call me ever again. You can’t paid me to use this place… a 30 minutes stop for photos lasted 2 hrs. 2 hrs of my life I will never get back!

I really liked the lady who took our pictures. She was nice, friendly and professional. The reason why I am giving it 3 stars is because the photographer who took our pictures, did not tell me that I had lipstick stains on my teeth. Yes, it is my responsibility to look in the mirror and make sure I look okay, but it would have been nice if she had told me to go fix my face. I was very dissapointed. I am not a complainer so I did not say anything and instead I am writing reviews on Unilocal.Don’t get me wrong. she took some wonderful pictures, at least the pictures where my mouth was closed. I am not going back to this place again.

This review is for the Sears Portrait Studio at the Sears in Arden Fair Mall.
We received some coupons for a free sitting and free 10×13 plus a few other discounts so we decided to get some family photos done. We originally made our appointment for a Saturday at 3pm. We showed up 10 min. early and were told by a frenzied looking young lady that they were running 15 minutes behind. As I looked around, there were several people waiting around and my first thought was…15 minutes? Yeah right! I told my wife let’s go. I’m not waiting and this place is obviously a mess on weekends. We left and rescheduled for a weekday afternoon.
We showed up for that appointment and no other customers were there, so we were immediately ushered into the studio. Perfect! The 2 young ladies that took our photos were very polite and did a great job directing our poses and getting our 1 year old to smile. Background choices were somewhat limited, but not a big deal. It was a very pleasant experience up to that point. After we had finished, they led us to the waiting room and said it would be about 10 minutes before the photos would be available to view. An employee then handed us a form and asked if we could fill it out with the names and contact info for 5 friends/​relatives. I know this is a marketing opportunity, but we’re constantly inundated with junk mail, spam and so forth in our daily lives and I wasn’t about to subject my friends/​relatives to a telemarketing phone call from Sears unless I had their permission first. I politely told them no thanks on any contact info.
Once our photos were ready to view, an employee sat down with us to look them over on a computer screen and immediately started trying to get us to purchase sheets. Heck, we hadn’t even been been looking at them for 2 minutes and there were 7 different poses to look over. I told the emp. that we needed some time to look them over and discuss. She said fine and sat right there. I asked her if we could look them over and discuss in private and was told NO! Are you kidding me? She then starts the sales pitch again and tries to get us to buy multiple sheets and poses. She tried scare tactics such as the pricing would be higher if we waited and purchased online. She tried to get us to join there portrait club for like $ 160.00? It never stopped and it was extremely annoying. I hate high pressure sales and it’s a good way to upset off your customers and they did! It was obvious that we weren’t going to get a moments peace to sort through and discuss our pics, so we paid for our coupon package and left. Even as I was paying for the items, they again tried to get me to buy a portrait club membership and give them the contact info for five friends and relatives. Very annoying.
The only way I can recommend this place is if you have a coupon and want a few quick cheap photos. Just be prepared for the constant sales pitch that accompanies this experience.
