I get delivery from here hall the time and I have never been disappointed. Love the fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, and the hot and sour soup.

OK, first things first. It has a nice atmosphere. The only issue is the parking right outside the windows which obstructs your view of more traffic. The orange beef and pineapple chicken were deep fried with a light crunchy texture. I found them enjoyable. I could however sense the grease content one reviewer mentioned. It was not overly greasy but greasy nonetheless. The flavor was light, but I could not taste the pineapple flavors without consuming the pineapple chunks. The sweet and sour sour was a little overwhelming. The steamed mushy rice was a good consistency. I had to add a take out of that as the amount is quite small for one person. All in all this is not the best Chinese location but it is in the top 10 so far in Sacramento county. Bön appetite!!!

I have eaten here for years and only a few times recently for lunch but recently moved to midtown. Took my family and friends there twice now and love it. Prices are excellent and food is awesome. Now I’m only three blocks away, it’s gonna be hard not to be a regular

This place is good. Got my order right, didn’t take too long, and isn’t too expensive. There’s nothing spectacular about it, but there’s definitely nothing to complain about. I think this place does it’s job. The food was decent and the staff was friendly enough :)

I hadn’t been here in a long time, so I was disappointed when it wasn’t like I remembered. Granted, it was about seven years ago, so I should have expected much. The service was fine, nothing spectacular. We got the broccoli beef, sweet and sour pork, and chow mein. I was really disappointed with how greasy everything was… and not in the good way. The pork was tough, and over fried, making it hard. The chow mein was greasy, and didn’t have a lot of taste. We also had spring rolls(again, greasy and no taste), as well as the fried wontons, which had barely anything in them. The highlights: the sweet and sour sauce was good. O_o Overall, we won’t be going. Back.

I’m not kidding. This place is really good and has excellent vegetarian options. I really like it. And it’s affordable.

I have eaten here many times but will never eat here again. I ordered a lunch special so I knew I would be getting some veggies with the chow mein and fried rice. Well not any veggies, just noodle and then some egg in the rice not even bbq pork. I also ordered pot stickers and the honey walnut shrimp to take home for dinner. Both were the worst I have ever had. I ended up staying home from work for 2 days sick. The meat in the pot stickers was pink so I cooked them a little more but only ate one as it had a bad flavor like bad meat. So little to say, not sure who is now doing the cooking there but I’ll find a different place from now on.

Ordered Wor wonton soup off the veggie menu for delivery. Got it. Ate it. Last bite see a black speck, think oh is that spices clumped together… no. No it wasn’t tiny roach. A lot of them. And then I puked.

A hit and miss kind of place. They have awesome sweet and hot soup. Disgusting orange chicken. Very tasty chow main. Not very good fried rice. Very large portions. Any of their meat is just dry and chewy. Really depends on what you order on how they do I tend to get a headache after ever meal I’v had here(4 it’s close to me). It is over priced to me though you get big portions I would much prefer better quality. They are pretty fast for a chinese restaurant and I’ve never had any issues with the staff. It’s just Eh.

Received a flyer from this place. Happen to drive by looking for a place to eat and said«why not». Best choice!!! The service was great, the food was amazing hot and fast. Will definitely go back.

I give this restaurant the same amount of stars as the shrimps they put in my «Four Seasons» dish.

Really yummy food but I’d like to see some chicken in the«spinach and chicken plate» as my wife won’t allow me to buy $ 9 steamed spinach for long… thanks! Kale

THISREVIEWISFOR the CHINADINNERONLY: TOFTT!!! Christmas eve, busy and want good food that I don’t have to cook. We’ve ALWAYS counted on Shanghai Garden to deliver… their flyer that comes with the mail, we’ve always ordered their«Special Dinner for Four: $ 25.95» and have been TOTALLY satisfied with it. Soup, noodles, fried rice, finger food, etc. This time, change of break,(Christmas Eve, right?) ordered blind thinking more might be more… ordered THECHINADINNER(minimum 2 persons @ $ 13.50 = $ 27.00) Description from their flyer: «This includes appetizers, soup and entrees. For the adventurous Dinner, leave it to our chefs who will delight your taste in real hunan and mandarin cooking.» Order came super-fast. Delivery guy was sweet. What WASNOTSWEET was the ACTUALORDER: (for the adventurous Dinner-Diner!) A small tub of plain white rice(!!!) Appetizers: 2 skewers of beef, 2 egg rolls, 2 cream cheese deep fried wontons(gross!!!) Small half empty container of some kind of soup 2 small containers of entrees: something with peanuts(lots!), shrimp, veggies and a few scallops. ~~~Seriously, haven’t explored the other one. ~~~~I have to admit, for take-out this place excels ASLONGASYOUSTICKTOTHEMENU!!! If you go into the ozone and allow them to do whatever they want, they will give you their leftovers and plain freakin rice That is What You Will Get. I called them not long after receiving our order and bitched-complained. PLAINRICE??? Manager(quoting): «Plain rice ALWAYS comes with The China Dinner.» SERIOUSLY??? ADVICE: Stick to the flyer’s front-page Specials, the cut-out coupons. Don’t even look at the back where their full menu is(been there, done that. Speaking from experience…) But, I take that back! Their Wor Wonton soup is the Best! But, it’s not what we got. (I think we got their leftovers.)

I love this place! The food is really fresh and always served crazy hot(even on delivery!). We have an annoying habit of always customizing our orders and the staff is really wonderful and accommodating. They even joke with us about it :-) The food is usually pretty saucy and bc of that it tends to lean a bit towards salty. If you ask them to do «light sauce» it comes out perfect. We almost always get the delivery service and the food never fails to arrive in half the time they quote.

WORSTPLACETOGETFOODINTHEWORLD!!! DON’T WASTEYOURMONEY!!! Jeff hung up the phone on me when I first ordered and told me he was the owner of the place. When there is another owner of this restaurant. Not only did he lie, the portions for the food were extremely small and saucy. This was a business order for work, not only did they give attitude the food it couldn’t even feed 3 people. $ 70 worth of food WASTED!!! SAVEYOURMONEYNEVERGOHERE!!! Unless you like small portions and tons of MSG on your plate.

Sacramento, CA: Recommended by the front desk at our Sacramento Hostel as decent enough. Easy to get to, straight east on H St. to the southwest corner at Alhambra Blvd. FOOD *Tofu and Shrimp *House Special Chow Fun *Vegetable Delight *2 bowls of steamed, white rice *1 bowl steamed, brown rice The Tofu and Shrimp was very dark from the heavy soy sauce used but tasted good. The Vegetable Delight was indeed that, my favorite tonight. The fresh, assorted stir fried veggies were cooked just right and lightly salted as ordered. They use NO soy sauce in this dish. The 3 House Special Chow Fun was meh. The rice noodles were dry. The three meats of beef, chashu(bbq pork), and chicken, were adequate in taste. The white rice was soft and not mushy. The brown rice needed to be cooked to a more tender consistency. That detail is not unique to this restaurant. I think adding a bit more water and cooking the brown rice a little longer might improve the texture in many restaurants’ brown rice offerings. No loss of star for that detail. Service was definitely friendly, quick, and attentive. If I were visiting again in the area, I would return to try some of their other dishes as the food was adequate tonight. The rice was charged by the bowl. 3.5 stars, rounded up. Check the local newspaper inserts for possible coupons. Parking lot right in front.
