Well, I didn’t get a chance to seethe room I’d reserved on , because I left right as I pulled into the parking lot and drove to Best Western downtown. That pool they advertise? A pit of broken concrete and dirt, with multiple bicycles chained to the fence around it, accompanied by several shady characters who proceeded to stare at my vehicle hungrily as we made a U-turn and sky-rode the eff out of there. NOPE. I later called to cancel my reservation, and the gentleman who answered the phone hung up on me after telling me they don’t take reservations. Avoid, avoid, avoid… unless you have a hankering for a hooker, some illicit drugs, or to be mugged.

Since this is the first review, I’ll go into some detail. We paid $ 45 per night for our room, with some trepidation, but it was a very good room for the price. If little shampoos, poofy beds, color-coordinated décor and a fancy neighborhood are important to you, this is not the motel for you. But if you want clean, decent room at a very reasonable price, this is a real find. It has free fast wifi and a pool, and my room even had a little refrigerator and a microwave. It had new-looking carpeting and tile on the floor and shower(no tub), but it looked like my dad might have decorated it. Some things are a little down at heel, such as a cracked tile in the bathroom, but everything worked, including AC on a 100 degree day. No ice machine at all, but ice in little ice cube trays in the refrigerator! No fan in the bathroom, but a nice big window that opens. Again, very clean, and I’m picky about this. Though on a major street, it was quiet on a holiday week-end. I suspect that the covering on the outside walkways was about to be replaced because it was particularly unsightly. The staff were nice and helpful. When I suggested that they should get a website, they said they didn’t need one because are nearly always full they have a lot of regulars. I can see why. I would stay there again.
