nothing like 78,000 of us up here in Citrus Heights missing the final playoffs between Cleveland Cavs and golden state warriors what great timing on giving us a power outage. So typical for Citrus Heights.

Words can’t explain how grateful I am to SMUD for helping me out when I recycled my refrigerator thinking I would receive a replacement. Brian and one of the smud supervisors helped expedite a replacement refrigerator for myself and three children within 1 week. There are people/​companies that really care. We Thank you!

I have had both SMUD and other power suppliers and can say that SMUD’s rates are among the lowest and customer service has been great.

Smud is the absolute worse company in the world. Im not even gonna start to list reasons. it’s not even worth it. I hate them with my entire body and soul.

At first, I used to like SMUD as they were cheaper than PG&E, but if you’re more than 2 months behind, they slap you with a $ 170 deposit charge for being late and you don’t get it back unless your next 12 monthly payments are on time. Just sounds like another way to gouge money out of people. Never heard of a «deposit charge» for an existing customer. We never had this issue with PG&E!!!

This place loves to send Hooghly bills!
A few years ago I opened an account with them and went to close it out. In January I found that my ex roommate called them and cancelled the disconnect on the account and didn’t pay the bill for 3 months leaving me with a past due balance!
This year the account is on one of my roommates names. I don’t know how the bill keeps going up because we are never home. Regardless of this, we still have to pay the hefty amount that is due!
Next year I will be seeing if there is any other utility service that we can go through.
The outside of the building does look nice though!

Got some free bark and mulch from SMUDs 6100 Folsom Blvd. location. The hours are limited to weekdays from 9am-​2pm but every time I come here there seems to be friendly crowd. Don’t forget your pick axe, snow shovel and tarp/​rope to get in and out in no time.

They make so many excuses and lies to avoid having to give back your deposit when you pay your bills on time they seriously need to be investigated

Have been using SMUD’s services for many years now and have always found them a good value, costing much less than PG&E and other power I have purchased in other locations.
Rates go up now and again, but that’s no surprise as long as rates are still lower than competing power suppliers.
I wouldn’t put much stock in those who think that electronic meters are somehow dangerous, as there is no science behind that.

SMUD installed smart meters without addressing the health effects caused by the electromagnetic radiation given off by these meters. They also did not address the fact that these meters can be used to spy on our energy usage habits or worse. When I tried to opt out they said «Sure you can opt out. Just pay us $ 80 per meter per month». Since I have 2 meters because I have solar panels that meant I had the «choice» of paying $ 160 per month extra for my electricity or getting a smart meter. Nice of them to offer me a «choice». It makes me want to get off the grid. Anyone up for a class action lawsuit?
