Delicious cinnamon rolls and other pastries! I love that it’s a family owned business because the owners and staff are always so nice and accommodating. I can’t wait until they open their new location. :)

This was my favorite coffee place in downtown plaza and definitely one of my favorite ‘mom and pop’ places in Sacramento. They are always welcoming, remembering the regulars and always made my drink perfect each time! I was so relieved(nobody enjoys that line and sweat shop hustle down the way at that other place) to see they were still in the plaza after all the other stores closed and construction of the arena began. When I would do some retail/window shopping therapy, their place was my first stop, like clockwork! I would also make sure to pick up a few baked goodies to take back to work for my coworkers. Now that they are relocated near sprouts and otos, I will have to make a stop at their shop my new routine when I go grocery shopping! Can’t wait!

Nothing special about this place. Usually get drinks here when walking through decaying mall in j st. The owners and employees here really need to be defended against the living walking shit that visit this place and expect free water. There is a high proportion of transients that hang out here. The owners resist supporting them as it is their right regardless of what nbc abc mtv sac bee CNN push. I’ve the heard walking shit say and deride the staff here for not giving free stuff as if they’re entitled to it. Maybe it’s because other businesses like Jack n box mcd or subway feel compelled to give free hand outs. I believe this is detailed enough to survive the Unilocal filter but watch it gets filtered

When we come downtown whether it is to go to Old Sacramento or shop at Macy’s or watch movies there at the Downtown Plaza we like to stop here to buy a bottle of soda. They actually have cinnamon rolls that I have yet to try! I know what’s wrong with me? I have a lot of will power:))) But you know they are strategically placed off to the side of the shop so you first see instead is their cookies, muffins, croissants and whatever is enticing in front! After buying our choice of soda we use this business to validate our parking ticket so then we can go on our business. It’s a secret gem that we have had for years! See you soon Spinners Cinnamon Rolls!!! We shall be back soon this month or next!!!

When I worked downtown, I would go to Spinners, everyday. It’s been years, and their Raspberry Walnut muffins still cross my mind! I was just checking to see if they were still in the Plaza, since I know the arena is wiping out everything that was once there, and wondering if they would be moving. I’ll definitely have to get down there before they close — absolutely the best muffins I’ve ever had!

Very good cinnamon rolls and tasty coffee. With the construction of the new arena I don’t know if this place will move or not. But I like coming here on lunch break because it’s an affordable snack that fills me up.

The best cinnamon rolls ever!!! Large, fresh and various flavors — try the apple cinnamon, you will not be disappointed. Service is excellent. If you’re lucky enough to be served by the owners, they have great little stories about this downtown location.

Their blueberry muffin is the freshest muffin I’ve ever tasted! I 100% recommend this store if u are looking for a morning coffee/pastry type of breakfast. I don’t know why I’ve waited so long to try them out. I’ve walked past this store for years and have always gone to Starbucks. BIG mistake! Spinners bakes fresh muffins, as opposed to Starbucks who serves pastries from a plastic bag w a shelf life of 6 months. I’ve also tried their lemon poppyseed muffin… super good w just the perfect hint of lemon!

spinners is sooo bomb! i heart their cinnamon rolls and their coffees. There usually is no line because everyone else is at starbucks but I prefer spinners because they have chocolate almond and hazelnut flavored java city coffee. It’s so good! Also, the whole place smells amazing and the ladies there are super nice and friendly!

Spinners has the best pastries! Their cinnamon rolls are good, but what I love best is the muffins. They’re huge, and so good, especially the blueberry. Their cookies are good too!

On the Christmas Eve before last, I was working the morning shift at Selland’s and one of our suppliers, Mike, brought us Spinner’s cinnamon rolls. Today I went there for the first time to get cinnamon rolls for my new boss’s birthday. They are so big, so buttery, with so many raisins and whole walnuts. All of your food fantasies can come true for only $ 3.25. The women at the store were friendly and even knew who I was talking about when I told them about Mike! That’s why I love small businesses. They are in the downtown mall so you have an entirely empty garage for your parking pleasure. I would hate to have to look for parking when I’m rushing to work. Next time, I think I’ll have the raspberry muffin.

So I wake up this morning(Christmas Eve morning) and I’m laying in bed trying to convince the body to release the hold of the warm blankets and get ready for work. Checking in with myself I discover I’m needing a cinnamon roll fix. I pull up my handy Unilocal app and type in «Cinnamon Roll Midtown Sacramento.» Up pops Spinners with its incredible reviews. In no time, I’m out of bed because the thoughts of a hot, melted butter encased, sweet cinnamon roll oozing with strands of brown sugar dripping from the fork suddenly makes the getting up easy. Forty-five minutes later(I mean I had to shower, right?) I arrive at Spinners. I gaze at the view of all their delectable offerings. I bellied up to the counter and ordered what I came for, one cinnamon roll with walnuts. Within seconds of my first bite, I was cursing Spinners AND myself! I could feel it with every fiber of my being and every singing taste bud – I was addicted. Yep! It happened that quickly. You know what this means? Now, every morning on my way to work, I will need to strong arm myself not to satisfy the Spinners urge lest my bellying up to the counter mean taking fewer steps. Try Spinners. Go early when the cinnamon rolls are steaming hot and teasing you with the scent of butter and cinnamon the moment you swing open the door. I’m a cinnamon roll connoisseur and I’m telling you, it doesn’t get much better than this. Damn you Spinners!

Around lunch time the cinnamon rolls aren’t exactly the freshest. Actually, they looked like they were sitting out for a while. With nothing but a heat lamp to keep them semi warm. After my purchase, I took a bite, and then put the white Styrofoam that housed my bun in my purse. Why? Because I knew it could be better with a 30 second spin in the microwave. Pretty sure I would have hated it if I ate it straight away as I perused the mall. The first bite was tough and barely warm. Despite that, I couldn’t get it off my mind. I just wanted to get back to work and devour the thing at my desk after a quick dose of radiation. So that’s what I did. Taste and texture improved after the 30 second microwave! Loved every bite. It wasn’t too big or overwhelmingly sweet. Just right. I don’t think I’d purchase this and eat it right away unless I saw them come straight from the oven. Definitely a take home and bake/microwave type pastry if you want optimal taste.

I started my solo dolo dessert/pastry tour at Spinners and it ALMOST ended here too. These cinnamon rolls are HUGE, wickedly tasty and stupidly cheap. I managed to only eat a fraction of my roll but even after reheating it, it was still hella good! It is my humble opinion that these rolls are for two(unless you are crazy hungry or just plain greedy like me).

I enjoy their cinnamon rolls as they seem to be baked fresh as opposed to some of the other products on display. What I don’t like is how long everything sits out. I believe any good bakery should have a rotating display of food, especially if you are located in a mall. I came in at about 6 at night and found the cinnamon roll to be luke warm and tough as opposed to warm and soft on morning visits. This is a big letdown when you’re craving fresh baked goods. This will by no means deter me from coming back, but it’s my main criticism. Everything else seems to be in order here. The employees are friendly, the food isn’t too pricey and they always have a fully stocked drink selection. Plus it just feels better to support them instead of Starbucks.

Spinners is awesome… awesomely convenient for me when I’m working at the office, yay! The owners are friendly, the coffee is good, and the baked items are yummy. I usually get the hazelnut or french roast blends. I’ve also tried the muffin before — and those things are HUGE. I only ate the top because I couldn’t finish the rest. I must confess though that I do prefer the muffin top — and Spinners’ muffins are amazing. A slight crunch on the outside and still moist on the inside.

Ooey gooey giant cinna-mess in the best way possible. It’s good, softer than a cinnabon, and very conveniently located in the mall!

Best cinnamon roll you could ever get in a mall. Cinnabon is gross. It smells so great, and then you take a bit, get a cavity, and want to spit it out. Good gravy… that changed when I ate at Spinner’s! Luckily, I convinced Tara to split the walnut cinnamon roll. I love nuts! Pun intended. After trying on multiple shoes at Payless, we took a shopping break, ate the cinnamon roll, died and went to heaven. Delish! Perfect amount to spice to warm up my soul. Not too sweet, no icky icing, just lovely, lovely baked goods. Who doesn’t need a little pick me up after shopping for shoes… We deserved it god damnit!

The roller derby team I was with was mostly having healthy breakfasts: oatmeal, yogurt and fruit, etc. Pffft. I’m having a giant cinnamon roll, thanks. And it was so worth it. I was disappointed that the shop was out of apple rolls, but selected a plain cinnamon roll and was not disappointed: the outside layers were firm but not dry, the middle was soft and gooey. It was marinating in butter, which I knew I probably shouldn’t swirl the less-gooey parts of the bun in, but, well, I did. I don’t regret it, although I gotta admit, I was queasy for a little while after all that sugar. Totally better than Cinnabon, which never tastes as good as it smells.
