They take forever to make your orders. My pick up time doesn’t seem to matter because they make you wait triple

I come here often for party trays and affordable pre-packaged Vietnamese food. I often order egg rolls for pot lucks and parties. Egg rolls were are always a hit. I recently ordered their $ 20 «Pad Thai» party tray for a pot luck at work. By the end of the day, there were more than half left which is unheard of for a potluck at a state agency. Their pad Thai is not pad Thai… Just some vermicelli noodles tossed with some chicken, shrimp, and onions and very bland. I suggest getting their egg rolls or fried shrimp balls for parties.

I wanted to stop by and check out their sandwiches since I always get mines from Duc Huong Sandwiches. I order the #7 the grill pork and the #11 combination. Is it me or the #7 is always the grill pork?(Huang Lan, Duc Huong Sandwiches and also here at Thanh Huong) #7 The Grill Pork 3⁄5 $ 3 The grilled pork didn’t have much flavor and the bread didn’t taste fresh either but I did see them toast my bread in a toaster. Just like the other vietnamese sandwiches this bread was stuffed with liver pâté, cilantro, cucumber, jalapeño, pickled daikon and carrots. It was decent, but I like Duc Huong a lot more! I still want to give them a second chance but as of right now the #7 is a 3⁄5. #11 Combination 2⁄5 $ 3 This sandwich is a combination of cold cuts such as sliced pork or pork bellies with liver pâté, head cheese, cilantro, jalapeño, cucumber, pickled daikon and carrots stuffed inside their bread. Again the bread didn’t taste fresh, the cut of meat was very random and thick. It was kind of hard to chew, no flavors but expect the extra liver pâté they cover both side of my bread with. I was very disappointed with this sandwich as well. This place takes credit card which is nice, they have other items on their menu and they do party trays as well so I definitely want to stop by and try their other items such as their big buns that’s stuffed with pepper ground pork, a little bit of clear noodles, fungus and half an egg. The staff here is super friendly and nice. I ordered 5 sandwiches and they did take a while to make my order. It took them about 20 minutes to make my sandwiches and I was the only customer too. But overall I’ll be back, hopefully I was just unlucky and got the end of the day bread and maybe that’s why my bread didn’t taste so fresh.

This place is great! One of the best banh mi sandwiches I’ve had even compared to the ones I has in southern Ca. I tend to get the special sandwiches that has everything so #10 and #11 is what we got. The sandwich was lightly toasted and warm. The bread not at all hard like some viet sandwiches are. There is something about asian mayo and liver paste that makes this sandwich come together and he did put a good amount which was awesome. They have quite a variety of Vietnamese food but since it was closing time most of the items were gone. Heard from my boyfriends mom they have another location in San Jose. It definitely is the real deal I assume since San Jose is one of the major cities that cater to Vietnamese people. I will definitely be back the other foods when we come back to visit my boyfriends family. Sandwiches is made to order and super quick! Have been living in Indiana it always nice to get food that we don’t have access too.

Strange set up, they don’t charge you until all your sandwiches are ready, and they keep the line going, so customers behind me were paying while we were waiting for the food and to pay. credit card for orders $ 10 or more. Prices are affordable and the filling is generous, especially #11~ flavors are all solid. I definitely recommended #11 picked up #11(banh mi special) bbq pork #5: charsiu pretty much. grilled pork #6 shrimp spring roll: the rice sheet is a bit dry, dip is ok, though there’s a good crunch from the greens. Banh Cuon(steamed rice rolls with meat): $ 6.60 for a huge box full. It’s decent, but not the best I’ve had.

Love their yummy party trays here especially their egg rolls! Very reasonably price too! Although they are slow in their service, if you don’t mind waiting then one shouldn’t complain. I’m fine waiting knowing that my food is being cooked fresh!

My girlfriend and i came here for lunch and we ordered soo many variety! She got the banh mi xa xiu with an egg for only $ 3 and i got a one item rice plate, pâté chau, 2 egg rolls, a springroll plate, gatorade, crispy rice with pork and café sua da and the total was only $ 20. I highly recommend this place. Their catering is on point too. I just recently discovered that they serve bun bo hue and phở here i will have to try it next time! Cheap and good food! The only place in sac that will put an egg onto your sandwhich for .50 $!!!

I come here to get the banh mi thit nguoi(ONLY $ 2.50OTD) when I’m in the mood. The lady is really slow in their services so be prepared to wait at times. Also, don’t let anyone cut in front of you, it happens here a lot. Their bread sucks(they get the old bread from another spot location) but everything they put in it is delicious. I wouldn’t not recommend their banh mi dac biet($ 3) because they load tons of meat in it and it’s too much for me. I also recommend telling them not to toast the bread(reheating bread multiple times turns it into a rock). They’re known for their catering — egg rolls, chow mien, etc., but I haven’t ordered from them yet.

I really like the employees that work here, but I just have to downgrade their rating by a star after the last few visits here. I know Duc Huong and Huong Lan both get way more customers and are close by, but this place needs to freshen up their meats, because I have problems with both of those places that make me not want to return. The cuts of meat are also random and a little too thick here. It’s almost too mom and poppy if that makes any sense. Not sure if I will be eating Banh Mi’s anymore in the Sacramento area. Times are tough. Life is tough. Sigh.

Hands down, this place has the BEST Steamed Pork Bun(Banh Bao). It includes perfectly seasoned ground pork, an egg and all the goodness of the light and airy dough. It weighs like a pound and cost less than $ 2.00 each. If this doesn’t fill you up, you need to eat two! =P They have other stuff and I tried a few other items, such as the sandwiches and they are just okay to me. I only come here for the bun. No one else compares. Actually…I just cleared out their inventory this afternoon. LOL Took all 13 of them home with me to share with family.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon and the food warmers were empty. There was no one at the counter, but a woman sitting in the back room made eye contact with me but never came to the front or spoke to/at me. I was there several minutes waiting for someone to come to the front. After that wait, since there wasn’t really anything tasty to pick up, I left. Contrast that with Duc Huong — folks there were plenty nice and I got served upon entry, and the food was delicious.

Came here bc my usual spot duc huong was so packed, needed something to eat before going into work, and reviews say they have the best banh mi… First off they have bad customer service, takes forever to get helped. It’s all older ladies working in there. She toss my change back at me on the counter… Rude. Ordered #7 and the baguette was hard AF!!! When I took a bite it broke into crumbs… Smh! I also bought a banh bao and the lady took it from me and wouldn’t let me have it till my sandwich was done, and I had already paid for both… Will not be coming back here

In my opinion this is the best place for banh mi sandwiches. No other establishment can beat their meat to veges ratio.

Came here to buy chow mein for a bday party. Everyone seemed to like the chow mein at the party and it was super cheap. I was expecting to pay anywhere from $ 40 to $ 50. But I walked out with a large tray of chow mein for only $ 35. The chow mein was also still nice and hot, so it wasn’t just sitting there for awhile. I will definitely be coming back here for future party needs.

The cute little old lady working the register, isn’t she adorable ?! She’s sooo friendly too! One time, my bf and I came in for the first time and our total ended up being $ 3. While she was ringing us up, this homeless man came up to the counter and sets a $ 1 down and said he was going to grab a soda. We gave her $ 3 and she threw a dollar back to us and said to just give her $ 2. Technically the homeless mans dollar covered the rest but the fact that the lady let us get away with only paying $ 2 was sooo nice ! It’s small gestures like that, that keeps us wanting to give her more business . I love this place ! Freshly made Chinese donuts, buns, egg rolls, and hot foods are just some of the things this place has to offer. The party trays are so affordable and they give a lot which comes perfectly handy for a potluck, family party, or barbecue. Not feeling any of these? Then order a banh mi. You could never go wrong with the banh mi !(grilled bbq pork is a must try ! Aka thit nuong) I usually haven’t been to any other place for banh mi besides duc huong but, I’d really like for this place to do well and frequently come here for a quick fix since they are cheaper than duc huong. I wouldn’t mind supporting both businesses :)

One of my favorite places here in Sacramento. I use them to cater a lot of my events, usually banh bot loc, spring rolls, shrimp salad, egg rolls. It is yummy food and totally affordable. In addition, I always order their banh mi. I prefer theirs more than huong lan or duc huong because they DON’T skimp you on their product or meat. Their sandwiches are meaty and tasty! The ladies that usually make it are very friendly. And lastly if you’re in a hurry to grab lunch or dinner, they usually have their meal deal where you can select several of their cooked items for a price.

Thanh Huong(left) vs. Duc Huong(right) My girl and I like to compare similar dishes at competing restaurants. All you Unilocalers never got to benefit from those direct reviews. So I’m going to make an effort to post those more. I ordered the combo at both of these 4 star Vietnamese Sandwich establishments. * Visually, the Duc Huong looks more appetizing and fresh. * The bread from Duc Huong was crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside — as expected from a baguette. The bread from Thanh Huong was soft and mushy; their bread is better with soup than for a sandwhich. * We ate half of Thanh’s sandwich 1st and then took two bites of Duc’s sandwich. After eating 2 bites, we were fighting on who was going to eat the rest of Duc’s sandwich. Duc’s sandwich was more refine with the vegetables and meat evenly spread out making each bite as fulfilling as the last bite. Thanh’s ingredients were randomly placed in the sandwich and felt like a mom and pop shop. Although Thanh’s sandwich had more meat and pâté, I prefer a balanced ratio been my vegetables, pâté, and meat. Lastly, the meat from Thanh was sliced thicker and felt like a sushi that wasn’t sliced right. Thanh was 3 stars and Duc was a solid 4 stars. My girl said she’s snobby and liked the prettier roll. I knew right away as I walked into Duc that they were superior because of the fresh smelling breads they cooked daily.

Got a banh mi, banh bao, and a café sua da. and they were all delish and cheap. Hubby loved his café sua da because it was super strong and not too sweet. Just the way he loves his coffee. The banh bao was very good and the banh mi was tasty. I saved half for the next day and it still tasted fresh and delish. I will be back. This location was funny with a super old Asian woman yelling at everyone. Feels like Vietnam in truth.
