Attention anyone considering moving into the insanity that is The Cascades. Well, that was a fun 3 weeks! Walked in with all the documents needed for any other dwelling. I know, because I have been through this process a few times. They were super nice until I gave them the holding deposit. Then they stopped returning calls and emails. Their«compliance» department is a joke. They do not understand the modern age. I get paid through direct deposit, yet they need actual pay stubs and I guess what I print out from my agency’s «print your check stubs» section of their website isn’t valid. Gave them the option to log in themselves, nope. Gave this solution and that, nope. Gave them info about the child support and even gave them the original order from 2010… No stamp(which is on the first page of the order) not valid. My pay stubs supposedly do not list how much I make per hour(BS), and they received my employment verification back with everything they need… They just have to give me crap about stuff I have no control over. They got the info they need from the source, my employer. Isn’t that enough? You can log into DCSS and see every deposit I have received since 1997, they won’t. It has been 3 week since I’ve put down a holding deposit and I still can’t see the unit. I still haven’t seen anything. They want a copy of my kid’s birth certificate, his SS card and school records aren’t enough(gave them receipts I ordered a new one). I have left messages with Mirena at First Pointe Management(the overseeing PM company) and even they didn’t return 3 days worth of desperate voicemails asking for clarification of required documents and to get some answers about the obvious redundancy issues at hand here. In my opinion, neither The Cascades, nor any property run by the First Pointe Management group, is worth another dime of my money or minute of my day. I’m done. You can keep my holding deposit. I’m a single mom just trying to get a place. I am more than qualified. My advice to anyone looking to move here — RUN! Unless you like dealing with a minimum of 3 weeks of absolute absurdity.

I lived here a couple years ago. The management was terrible, I hope they fixed that! The Asian lady in the office seemed to hate her job and there were a lot of suspicious looking people walking the complex at night. However, their maintenance crew was great and if you had a noise complaint during the weekend, the front desk staff was right on top of it! Upon move out, they tried to rob my security deposit but I was able to prove the majority of the items they charged me for were pre-existing conditions of the unit(take photos upon move in for your own records). For a low income apartment, in a not so great area, this complex was not too shabby.
