Had a wonderful experience treating a friend for his birthday! We opted for the 4-course meal because it was our first time and wanted the most for our fondue experience. You would think dipping pieces of food into a sauce or broth wouldn’t be filling, but we were STUFFED by the end of the night. I was pleasantly surprised at the main entrée. The different meats were of well-cuts of meat and very flavorful. I especially loved the 6 sauces complimenting them. Highly recommend the Goddess sauce because it went well with every piece of meat. We also loved the array of treats to dip into our dessert chocolate fondue. Not only did they give us fruit and marshmallows, there were pieces of brownie and cake to dip in too! Our server Nicholas was fabulous and so patient explaining everything to us. He was so helpful in teaching us how long to cook the meats, etc. He even surprised us with chocolate-covered strawberries because he wanted to! We loved it so much that we actually stayed an hour after they closed! In my defense, they didn’t rush us or try to kick us out! *Oops* But the whole staff were so wonderful for letting us stay and chill while they cleaned up. This is a pricey, meant for a special occasion kind of dinner. But I definitely found it well worth it.

I love it… Its my first time here and it was thanks to Restaurant Week in Sacramento. I was able to enjoy dinner and quality time with friends that I haven’t seen in a while. However, dinner was super long. We had a group of 8 and it lasted 3 hours, if you come here make sure you have awesome company with you. Our waiter was great, he explained everything to us since most of us, it was our first expereince at melting pot. The restaurant week menu was a 3 course meal for $ 35 a person. I felt it was a great deal for $ 35, so we could try everything. I know a regular menu for each course could easily be $ 35 each. The menu is set, but there are many options. We start with cheese fondue, then entrée and chocolate fondue. Since we had a table for 8, there was two burners… so we got to choose 2 different cheese fondue pots to share. We went with Green Goddess Cheddar(my favorite of the two) and Wisconsin Trio. The Green Goddess Cheddar is lager beer, garlic and green goddess with cheddar and swiss cheese blend with black pepper. The Wisconsin Trio is Fontina, Butterkase and Gorgonzola cheese with white win, scallions and a hint of sherry. The cheese fondue comes with artisan bread, veggies and apples. It was delicious and there was more than enough food… I already started to get full and it was just the first course. The second course include veggies and 8 different dipping sauces. There was so many dipping sauces that I couldn’t keep track of it, but all the meats was seasoned very well so I didn’t even need to use it. There was 3 selection for entrees to pick from. Most of us choose selection 1 which comes with herb crusted chicken, pacific white shrimp, filet mignon and spinach & artichoke ravioli. Selection 2 was teriyaki marinate sirloin, honey orange duck breast, bbq pork medallion and wild mushroom sacchetti. Selection 3 is vegetarian. My friends and I are meat eater and there was more than enough on our plates. Then we had to pick the cooking styles, from restaurant week menu there was 4 styles to choose from. We went with Seasoned court bouillion which is fresh seasoned vegetable broth and Mojo which is Caribbean seasoned bouillon with a distinctive garlic flavor and citrus flair. I couldn’t tell the different between the 2 different cooking styles, but my food was delicious. I pick selection 1 entrée and the meat and shrimp was good cuts of meats. These shrimps were big and juicy, it curled perfectly into the C-shaped. The filet mignon and chicken was great cuts, it wasn’t dried after cooking in the broth but juicy… we had to be carefully not to bite into right after we took it out of the broth because it was hot. Of course the ravioli was a good compliment to all the meats and veggies. The third course was chocolate fondue which comes with strawberries, blondies, banaanas, pineapple, marshmallows treats, pound cake, brownies and more. That’s all I can remember, there was so much food left, I told my friend to finish my dessert part. I only ate like half, and that was me stuffing my face. As for the chocolate fondue we picked the flaming turtle and dark & dulce. The flaming turtle was awesome, our waiter lit it on fire… It’s fondue candy mix with milk chocolate, caramel and candied pecans. The dark & dulce(was my favorite because I like dark chocolate and not too much for milk chocolate) was a classic flavor featuring dark chocolate with sweet thick dulce de leche that was accented with sea salt. Overall, my experience was fantastic and I would definitely come back to melting pot. Maybe next year during restaurant week again.

Went to The Melting Pot for the first time and I was very impress. The waiter was on top of the drink refills. Food was great. The Atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant. Not a bad place to go and cook your own food.

The food was good but this place is overpriced for what it is. We went for lunch and got the spinach artichoke cheese but for $ 20 you get a small bowl of cheese, some apple pieces, a small bowl of bread, and small bowl of veggies. Not worth $ 20 in my opinion. It was a fun experience but not one that I feel the need to repeat for that price.

As a member of their Club Fondue I also had a voucher for a free box of 6 chocolate-covered strawberries for my birthday, which I wasn’t sure they would accept in combination with the Dine Downtown promo, but our server asked the manager and it was fine. Party of 7, we had two pots for the table, portioned out accordingly(one pot ~3 people, one pot ~4 people). This was great so we could try two different kinds for each course! For the cheeses we picked the Spinach Artichoke and the Wisconsin Trio. The Spinach Artichoke was the clear favorite, the Wisconsin Trio was better with the Granny Smith apples due to the gorgonzola. The table was divided between the Selection 1 and Selection 2 entrees, but we got the basic veggie broth and the Mojo broth. I had Selection 1, all were good. The pastas did tend to fall off the skewers or fall apart in the broth after too long. The dipping sauces were yummy too — I especially liked the horseradish and the curry ones. For the finale, we chose the Original and the Dark & Dulce chocolates. The Original was the first to go, and the Dark & Dulce was a little thinner and we had the shaker of sea salt to keep it going till the last spoonful. Server was pretty good keeping drinks refilled, transitioning from course to course, and dealing with the check(cash and cards). We were easily there between 2.5−3 hours total. I might be back for another special fixed price menu/event! Their regular menu isn’t worth a full four courses though(Cheese, Salad, Entrée, Chocolate).

When you come here, prepare to stay a while. It’s all about the experience and the food. The server will help guide you thru the menu, rake their time in assisting with each fondue and it is really a personal experience you’re getting. Food definitely seems to be of a high quality. Servers are very accommodating of anything you may need. I got the French Quarter meal, which was quite delicous. Shrimp, chicken, sausage, and filet mignon. All had their own seasoning even tho it was being cooked in vegetable broth. Atmosphere is truly a place to get to know someone and talk. It was approx about a 2.5 hour experience to eat and I walked out stuffed. There is a convenient parking garage right next to the restaurant unless you want to try your luck for meter parking. Again, it is an experience, be prepared to spend some money. And I wouldn’t take a first date there, might find out they weren’t worth the money you shelled out! Our bill tipped over $ 120 with tip, and yhat was probably on the cheaper side of bills.

Wound up getting 2 four course meals(different options) and splitting them. Cheese fondue started us out on the right foot. Bread and veggies followed, with six different sauces. Stuff a mushroom cap with some of the gorgonzola dip and dip the whole thing in tempura batter. Place in hot oil and prepare a different skewer. By the time you have finished, a deep fried stuffed mushroom cap will be ready, but don’t fill up. Dessert fondue is still a few courses off! Lots of delicious food including various meats and breads were an awesome treat for a holiday meal. I’m sure they’d be great anytime also!!! A tad pricey and probably not MD approved for everyday consumption.

Came here for lunch with my best friend and her family. I was so excited because I’ve heard so many amazing things about this place. Turns out they were totally right! The first thing we got was Spinach & artichoke cheese and also Fiesta. They were both great but I’m biased toward garlic. So I really loved the spinach artichoke. Then the salad was delicious, and I got a ranch dressing that was amazing. Different than most restaurants’ but I really enjoyed it. Then the meat– we had lobster, shrimp, chicken and filet mignon. So good. I loved every bit of it. And every sauce that came with them was delicious. I would have really loved if the sauces were heated. But that didn’t ruin my dinner. Lastly, we got the Flaming Turtle and Yin & Yang chocolates. The flaming turtle was my absolute favorite. Caramel, chocolate, pecans, and rum on fire!?! Yes please! I’d go back just for the desserts. For drinks, I had the Love Martini that was delicious and I loved the strawberries! The others had beer and wine. The waiter helped pair the wine with their food. Overall, it is a little difficult and confusing to order if you don’t know what’s happening. Luckily, our waiter Josh was extremely pleasant and knowledgable about the menu and didn’t mind our million questions and repeating how it worked multiple times. There was one person in our group who kept complaining about«boiled meats” — which I will say sounds weird. But we had the normal vegetable broth that we cooked things in and it was delicious and not even an issue for flavor. The meats were tasty and moist. The experience of going to this place was worth a lot too, it was fun and there was something to do rather than just sit and have food brought to you. I love places like this! I was on my toes the entire time not knowing what to expect! I will definitely be back for a special night with my boyfriend! This place is a great date night and completely worth every penny.

Eating here makes me want to change into a prom dress… just so I have an excuse to go back here soon and eat again. Ridiculous, I realize… as if you really needed an excuse to enjoy fondue! But the Melting Pot clearly must be an experience most people reserve for special occasions. No reservation got us the raised eyebrow from the hostess(hey sometimes you have to roll the dice) and we were asked twice what we were celebrating. How about it’s 630 on a Wednesday and we’re both not still at work? Sounds like a good excuse to dip into some hot delectable eats to me. Our server, Casey, was fantastic. I love when a server is enthusiastic(minus the flare) and can give honest recommendations. Casey did not disappoint. She steered us right in every detail — from the cocktails(helloooo ginger lemon drop) to the dessert. We dipped into the following: Wisconsin Trio with added Italian meats(worth it!) Fondue By You: Shrimp, Ahi, & Herb-roasted pork Dark & Dulce(salted dark chocolate — amazing!) All in all a fun time and we left satisfied. Ok this might be a bit pricey for a regular occurrence, but it’s definitely a must try when you want something different(and you’re not in a hurry)… celebration or not.

I really absolutely loved my experience here. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and was sweet enough to request the«lovers table.» It was a little alcove away from the rest of the restaurant which is perfect for people who actually enjoy talking to each other. I will say as we went through the dining experience it did get a little warm at our table. The food was amazing. We did the 4 course meal. Because there is only one stove top you share your cheese portion and the cooking style. We decided on the alpine cheese fondue– soooo stinking good! It was served with French and Dutch Crunch bread a few veggies and green apples. Both the California and Melting Pot classic salads were great. The main course was AMAZING. By this time we were both getting a little full so the portions were perfect. I had the land and sea and my bf had the French quarter. Both were great. I really do love that if you don’t like something that comes with your entrée you can switch it out, I’m allergic to mushrooms and was able to switch out for the ahi tuna. The dark chocolate fondue is perfect for traditionalists that don’t like too much sweet in their chocolate. And finally our server: Nick is seriously the . super attentive and his timing was perfect! He was a busser before he became a server so he totally understands the right flow of how the dinner should be, and totally knowledgeable. I would totally recommend asking for him if you make a reservation. I know I will the next time we go!!!

Loved loved loved this place. What better way to end a night with fondue. It was my first time and the cheese was insanely good. The bread was warm and tasted fresh. We devoured that cheese bowl. lol…We started off with rhus and some drinks. We were seated in the back, which was nice since it was something like a double date and had a little privacy. Our waitress was extremely nice. My BF and I went with my coworker and her husband and did I mention the drinks were strong and delicious.(NO I didn’t) By the time were don’t killing the cheese bowl and a few long islands and Dragon fruit martinis, it was time for dessert. The ying yang was my favorite. The Chocolate and white chocolate was to die for. Smooth, creamy and not too sweet, we had strawberries, marshmallows, soft pound cake(my weakness), bananas, and brownies to dip in the fondue and it was a fight till the very last drop of chocolate. Definitely a go to spot. Did I forget to mention they were open kinda late.(YES I did forget) Your Welcome !

The Melting Pot’s website states that it is the #1 casual dining restaurant in the country. Because of this, I walked into the restaurant wearing jeans and flip flops; and OFCOURSE, it turns out to be a fancy and romantic restaurant with the other patrons dressed in way fancier clothing. –__– DEFINITELY dress a little more on the dressy casual side because I felt way underdressed. My friends and I came here during happy hour. We shared the spinach and artichoke cheese fondue, which was absolutely delicious. We got a small, which was $ 15(HH price). The small is big enough for two people to share — MAYBE three. It came with tortilla chips, Granny Smith apples, bread, and assorted vegetables to dip. For dessert, we went with the flaming turtle, which was chocolate with caramel, rum, and pecans. It was TOO delicious. This came with brownies, blondies, marshmallows, strawberries, bananas, pineapples, and rice krispy treats to dip. The fruits were my favorite because the fondue itself is very sweet, and the brownies and rice krispy treats dipped in the fondue was too much for me. You can also ask for more food to dip at no charge. I wouldn’t say it is unlimited, but you can ask and will receive an additional, yet small, quantity. Although it is a chain, the Melting Pot is a must try experience in my book. At the very least, I recommend coming here for dessert!

My wife and I went here to celebrate us getting married and we had Jolene as a waitress. She was absolutely the best! She listened to us talk about our wedding and even looked at photos! We talked about our honeymoon plans with her and she was just as excited about it as we were! She really made our night complete. And the Snickers fondue was so amazing!!! I love this place and our experiences here just keep getting better!!!

Came here for our anniversary with hubs he had planned it secretly because he surprised me with tickets to Bye Bye Birdie next door at Music Circus. We got there just right when it was our reservation time. He had booked a small private booth for the two of us. I servers was über nice and she came introduced herself to us, explained how everything worked and told us to take out time to look over the menu. She next asked us what we wanted to drink hubby ordered a bottle of wine to go with dinner and some water. We decided to go with the 4 course experiences and how that works is: 1. Select one cheese fondue per cooktop, 2. Select your individual salad, 3. Select your individual entrée from the menu, and 4. Select one chocolate fondue per cooktop. For the salad hubby went with their Caesar salad which consist of crisp romaine lettuce, shredded Parmesan cheese, crispy croutons and an added touch of Parmesan-encrusted pine nuts, tossed with Caesar dressing. and I went with their California salad which consist of mixed baby salad greens, Roma tomatoes, and candied pecans with raspberry black walnut vinaigrette minus the Gorgonzola cheese(not a fan blue cheese). We loved out salads it was delicious I especially loved the candies pecans and the raspberry black walnut vinaigrette, it tied everything together so well. For the Cheese Fondue we went with the Fiesta cheese which was cheddar & emmenthaler cheese with beer, salsa, and jalapenos made as spicy as you like. And it came with artisan breads and seasonal vegetables for dipping. Hubby loved the cheese fondue, lol I had to watch how much I ate because I’m lactose intolerant but from what I had it was tasty. For our main we went with the Mojo broth which is a Caribbean-seasoned bouillon with a distinctive fresh-garlic flavor and a citrus flair. And for meats we went with The Classic which is their most popular combination! It’s a Certified Angus Beef sirloin, Memphis-style BBQ pork medallion, Pacific white shrimp, herb-crusted all-natural breast of chicken, and teriyaki-marinated sirloin. Our main came with 6 sauces as well, which were: Curry, Ginger Plum, Green Goddess Sauce, Gorgonzola Port, Teriyaki Glaze, and Horseradish Cocktail Sauce. The broth was really taste which was good for the shrimp & chicken but i don’t know how i feel about putting my meat in liquid like that but that’s just me: p. Curry, green goddess and ginger plum were my favorite sauces for the main course. For dessert we got the Flaming Turtle which is an irresistible combination of milk chocolate, caramel and candied pecans flambéed table-side. And it came with Dippers which was fresh strawberries, blondies, bananas, pineapple, marshmallow treats, pound cake, and brownies. It was delicious but at this point we were rushing out because of the show we had to get to. The atmosphere was very laid back, romantic, and very mellow. Great place to celebrate special occasions like date night, birthdays, promotions, before prom meals, dinner with friends or family, outta towners or dinner before a show at the nearby Music Circus or Sacramento Community Center Theater. Fondue is fun with a partner cause they get to feed you and you take the turn to feed them back. The 4 course fondue experience is more then enough for 2 people to share. Servers were consistent, friendly and attentive to you. Whole experience beginning to end was 1.5 hours minimum. Definitely recommend for going out fun.

I love cheese and chocolate so this is still one of my favorite restaurants. Nothing new which I understand can be challenge for some but they always deliver. Seems more like a family night than date night now but I think that’s awesome. I’m sure kids love fondue. Who wouldn’t? We started with the cheddar BBQ brisket appetizer. It was delicious. The ½ portion was enough for two. Meat and cheese? Yes please. Our entrée was the seafood special. The broth was unbelievable. So many different flavors. It came with lobster ravioli, shrimp, crab, sausage and corn. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Plus it came with lots of dipping sauces. Ordered my usual desert. Forgot to take a picture until half way through. Lol i couldn’t finish. I was stuffed at that point. The total cost for meal was less than $ 80 minus drinks. Only critique is if you are going to sit us by the hostess then they should be aware we are watching and can hear conversations between staff. But it wasn’t anything big so didn’t really bother us. Overall all good experience as usual.

Who in their right mind doesn’t like The Melting Pot?! Weirdos from another planet? This place is a Sacramento standard and a must for date night, special occasions, before prom meals, dinner with friends, or dinner before a show at the nearby Music Circus or Sacramento Community Center Theatre. It’s practically tradition by now. I love to come here with some of my best friends, especially for the cheese fondue followed by delectable chocolate dessert fondue. YUM. Star knocked off because realistically, their prices are ridiculous if you want the entire four course, or even two or three courses. The salads are teeny tiny portions for $ 5.99-$ 6.99. C’mon guys! EVERYTHING else is perfect though. Everything. Atmosphere. Wine and Beer List(that rotates based on season and year). Seasonal Cocktails. Food Selection. Rewards Program. Waitresses that bring your fool self some napkins and club soda when you spill chocolate sauce all over your front. Not that I’ve done that. *cough* Ok, so that was last night when my buddy took me here after I got some fresh ink in midtown. Nothing classier than sauntering into a nice eatery with an open wound. That’s how I roll. And although this is a classy place, you don’t get looks for showing up in shorts and a shirt. And maybe flip flops. My favs: 1. Wisconsin Trio, Cheddar, and Spinach Artichoke for cheese fondue choices. 2. Flaming Turtle, Smore’s, Pure Chocolate(milk or dark), or That Oreo One for dessert fondue choices 3. Whatever that new summer cocktail is with the watermelon in it. MMMMM! So yeah. Solid, dependable, romantic choice with delicious food. You can’t go wrong. Plus, fondue is fun! Dinner and a show.

How can anyone go wrong with ooooey gooey yummy cheese fondue? Or cooking various pieces of meat in luscious flavors of broth, spices and a tad bit of sherry? Then top it off with luscious melted chocolate that you have tons of yummy pieces of fruit, pound cake, brownies etc to dip into it with? You can’t. This is an amazing experience. It’s pricey. But worth it. Make reservations, and plan on the experience lasting at least two hours or more. The four course meal is so worth it. But go hungry !!

Melting pot is an awesome experience. I do recommend coming here on a special occasion or for desert! We made reservations and came in for dinner on a Thursday night. It was quiet, we were seated quickly, and our waitress was great. She told us she had been working there for close to nine years and she definitely knew her stuff! We ordered from the 4-course experience menu and our bill racked up quickly! We started with the cheddar cheese fondue. Our waitress made it for us at the table and explained what was going in as she mixed ingredients together. The cheese fondue came with plenty of cubes of bread, Granny Smith apples, and a mix of veggies including broccoli, cauliflower and sweet peppers. It was great. Our next course was salads and we both chose Caesar. Next we had our entrees. They were delicious and went well with the multitude of recommended sauces. We had a variety of meats between us and everything was delicious. We finished up with chocolate but we were so full by the time we got there! I wish I had saved more room! This was definitely a fun eating experience. It is reasonably priced for what you get in terms of quality, as well as experience. I’d like to come back maybe just for dessert in the future since I didn’t get to eat too much this time!

Went here on a Saturday night with my lady and some friends for the first time and was hoping for a wonderful experience… First off, parking is good because there is either street parking and a parking garage that is right by the restaurant. The best part was that the melting pot validates your parking and it pays for either the whole fee or the most you would pay is .50 cents. When we entered the melting pot there was a seating lounge that was completely filled with people. I checked in for my reservation and they kindly told me it would be a short time before we get seated. Also, people in the seating lounge was seated pretty quickly and before I knew it, it was empty. We were then seated shortly after… The place did have dim lighting and the booths seem a little tight but overall it was good… Tip: make an appointment because when you dine here, you will be here for more than 3 hours… We started out with the cheddar fondue for the starters and it was tasty with garlic, beer, seasoning and Swiss cheeses. We had bread, broccoli, apples, cauliflower, and carrots to dip in the cheddar. Second, we had the salads… We had the melting pot house salad which is crispy romaine and iceberg lettuce with either ranch or a sweet vinaigrette. The California salad is mixed baby greens with pecans walnut vinaigrette. For the entrée, we had the mojo broth which is consist of a fresh garlic flavor and citrus… Included mushrooms and potatoes… And ordered selection 1: shrimp, sirloin beef, teriyaki beef, chicken, and ravioli… My boy ordered selection 2: Shrimp, won ton, beef, ravioli, and duck breast… For dessert we had the yin yang which is a mix of chocolate and white chocolate… And included strawberries, pound cake, rice crispy treats, marsh mellows, cookies, and pineapple. We all did the dine out which is $ 31 a person… And honestly the portions were very small and for money we paid, we could have gotten probably a better meal. BUT it was a fun experience and glad we got to try it… Deon was our waiter and overall he was pretty nice but I could tell he was always in rush since it was busy so i understood… Would we come back… Maybe but no time soon…

my wife took me there for my birthday. had margarita(mango/pineapple).horrible tasted like cough medicine… then ordered the 90 dollar dinner for 2. cheese was good. lettuce wrap was horrible. entrees…i hated that we have to cook the food ourselves. what kind of bullshit is that. just wanted to it to be over with after i found out that we have to cook the fucking food ourselves. desert was good. overall, i will not go back. my wife was disappointed i didn’t like it. she liked it. but i’m not paying 130 dollars after tip to cook some little pieces of food on my damn table. 2 stars for the good cheese and dessert, but thats it. no way i’ll go here again. i’d rather pay 300 to go to the kitchen where they actually cook you the fucking food for you. waste of time and money to go to this melting pot. also service was sub standard as well.
