The lady who runs this place is a HORRIBLE human being. If you eat there, the chances you will be insulted, yelled at or have something else unpleasant happen to you are extremely high. This is my only review because I created this account solely to tell you to AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

Worst customer service ever. Short tempered asian lady, rude, and rude to her cook. Her cook was a white trash lady that was just as impatient and rude as the asian lady. Both of them made faces at each other behind each persons back but wanted us to make sure we saw that. I don’t care about their problems, I just wanted to eat. Never ever going there again and I will tell everyone to not go there.

A good alternative to the overpriced, often cheesy restaurants of Old Sac. On a hot summer day, it’s nice to get a freshly grilled, delicious bratwurst on a sturdy bun, drizzle on a little mustard and enjoy it sitting on the tables out front. Cool, man. Cool. My lil brother loves the onion rings too.

Best hot dog I’ve had in Old Sac. Little embarrassed to admit there have been quite a few. $ 4 gets you a freshly grilled jumbo size on a steamed bun. Cute little bench tables out front make for a comfy seat to enjoy the grub and people watch. Asian lady grill meister was a sweetheart to me. She works her magic at the opposite end of the boardwalk from where Indo Café and Delta House are located.

Now that the weather has gotten nice I like to wander over to Old Sacramento during lunch and wander around. I was doing this the other day and ran across The Missing Link. I tried the bratwurst with a bag of chips and a coke and it definitely hit the spot. I can see how the lady who runs the place could be tough on customers, she was quite curt with the man who asked for change, shooing him across the street to the change machine. However, I decided what I wanted, ordered quickly and had no problems. If you’re looking for a quick place for lunch in Old Sac and want something better than the myriad of hot dog spots, check out The Missing Link.

Great brats! Get them everytime we are in Old Sac. Be aware that the asian woman that runs the place could be called the«Sausage Nazi»! She doesn’t take any BS from customers. Hates it when you are slow to order or use large bills. Charges extra for using a VISA card, which by the way is against VISA/vendor agreements. When another customer pointed this out to her she went ballistic and the F-bombs flew.

Sunday morning and I was going to spend several hours in old town. Got the worst service I have ever had. An older asian lady was talking with a younger biker guy. I waited literally 4 minutes standing right next to the biker guy while they talked about her niece. She did not even look at me. Then she was rude and short tempered because I was going to buy two sodas and only had a $ 20. I told her forget it and walked away leaving the sodas on the counter. I will starve before I spend my money at this place.

Oh boy — what a cool place this is. Robert and I went there just wanted something casual and inexpensive. The Missing Link is between Joes Crab Shack and the Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento. We loved the Brats on French rolls and had some poppers that were awesome. We ate outside and got to talk to meet Ja — who as it turns out is the frosting on the cake at the missing link. An amazing woman. It is not often that you get to meet someone who is as genuinely warm hearted, honest, and who obviously completely and thoroughly enjoys meeting and getting to know people. I cannot help but think that this is why Ja runs this place — not to make money but to enjoy talking to the customers. I will definitely be back for more fun conversation and delicious sandwiches

I’m with Nettie O. and sorry, Louie T., I’m not an idiot… Yesterday we we were waiting for the Excursion Train. I sent my 13 year old son over to their outside stand so he could get a drink. I gave him a $ 10 bill. He returned with his drink and said that the lady serving him said he gave here a $ 5 bill. I walked over there to clear things up. He pointed out his server as a middle-aged, nicely coiffed lady. She said that my son gave here a $ 5 bill. I told her that it was a $ 10 bill and she said she always put’s the $ 10 in a special spot so she knows what bill a customer gave her. Huh?! She takes out a five and slams in on the counter says, «Here! You call me a liar! Go! Just go!» I said that I never called her a liar and that it was a simple error. Again, «Go! Just go!». I then talked to my son and explained to him that if she practiced good customer service and had given me the five back with a simple apology(even if I was in the wrong), she would have made a loyal customer. Instead: Not in this lifetime!

Great German sausage sandwiches. The smoked brats are the best always with a toasted bun. Fast and friendly service. Would definitely recommend this place! Can’t wait to come back to this place!

Mmmmm Mmmmm Mmmmmm I was in old town this past weekend walking around with my girlfriend enjoying the weather, then I smelt something delicious in the air!!! The Missing Link lady was out in front of there shop grilling up some brats. It was delicious!!! I recommend this place to anyone that visits Old Town. The service was great! The owner is suuuuuper friendly and talks to everyone and makes sure that everything is good! I read one of the previous reviews and couldn’t believe that someone gave this place one star, what a joke! The Jazz Jubilee is hands down the busiest time for restaurants in Old Town Sac, why would one post a review for service received during this time. Some people are just idiots!

Crappiest service I’ve ever had in a long long time. I ate at this place for dinner during the Jazz Jubilee. At the outside counter was this old Asian lady just chatting it up with some dude, completely ignoring us. *knock knock* hellooo??? customer over here! So as I loudly tell that we’re ready, I tell her I want a bratwurst, andouille, 2 pepsis, and zucchini sticks with fries. The entire time she was NOT paying attention! She wasn’t even looking at me … she was still carrying on her conversation with that guy while she was ringing up my order. So as we wait for our food, the cook comes out with my zucchini sticks and I guess she messed up. When she called out my order I walked up to her to get it and then the Asian lady holds her and up to me and says«Wait a minute.» Then proceeds to tell the cook to do it again, then rolls her eyes up as if to say«stupid cook.» Then she shouts over to me «Did you say onion rings or zucchini sticks?» — if you were paying attention you would know! sheesh. So 5 minutes later we get our order then I’m thinking … damn that andouille is taking FOREVER! I bet she forgot to even order it … ugh turns out because the lady wasn’t paying attention to me the first damn time she forgot to ring me up for it. ANNOYING. Thankfully by the time I had to get in line again, a whole other person was ringing up the food and she was able to get it for me right away. Crappy service for okay food. Never eating here again.

If you are in Old Sacramento and you want something fast but not fast food and you are waiting for the train ride, this is the place. They grill sausages outside. I always get a brat on toasted bread. The bratwurst is not as good as it used to be, but it’s good. You used to be able to go inside and buy your own meats and sausages, but I haven’t tried that in awhile. The deli section looked empty. We ate outside, of course.
