This is a one stop shop for us downtown State employees. They’re a definite hot spot for winning lottery tickets! The staff here are super friendly and tend to remember you when you come in! They’re nestwled in between LaBou and Vallejo’s. Lunch time and on Fridays are always super crowded with folks buying lottery tickets and snacks! They have funny, cute and quirky greeting cards. Chips, candy, coffee, tea, soda, energy drinks. A definite one stop little snack shop! I believe they have smoothies or something or is it ice cream?

Always new stuff to try/get familiar with. Never get anything expired or close to expiration. It is always clean and organized. They have pizza from Pizza guys(I think) daily, hot dogs, milk, juices, soda of all kinds, water, cookies, cakes, popcorn, gum, candy, hygiene products and gifts/cards. Let’s not forget cigarettes and lotto tickets. I think they even have soft serve ice cream. You can tell that there are a lot of regulars that shop there. Yes, there is a 50 cent fee for purchases under $ 5, but that is because every time a business uses their machine, they are charged, so the small business man cannot afford that cost for each charge made under $ 5. Chances are, you won’t go in and spend less than $ 5 anyway. There is always something new to catch your eye.

Quick, convenient, and just a few blocks from my office. The folks there are nice and they make you feel welcome. I bought my first lotto ticket there and they explained how to play. Great little place to get your snack on!

Great people, but they’re a little pricey(because they know they’re the only store in the area), and they have some ridiculous policies like No Debit card purchases under $ 5 or they hit you with a 50 cent fee, and even worse, cant use your credit card unless it’s $ 10 or over… I’ll go out of my way and find some place else…

A Capitol institution. It’s a tiny little corner market with the standard fare — energy drinks, soda, coffee, snacks, lottery tickets, and cigarettes. They also sell soft serve ice cream with rotating flavors throughout the week. The staff are super friendly and the service is quick. I’ll never quit you, Posey’s General Store.

This quick stop general store is nestled between La Bou and Vallejos on 11th street. I hate to admit that I visit this store at least two times a week to satisfy my diet Dr. Pepper addiction. I like that I can get soda in a can instead of those huge bottles that are almost impossible to grip. I also feel less guilty because I’m only consuming 12 oz. of aspartame as opposed to 32. The best part of this place is the greeting card selection which ranges from crass birthday cards, funny holiday wishes, to sentimental thinking of yous and touching get well cards. The staff are always friendly, helpful, and quick!

The store is the size of my closet. It’s not only a wonder how they fit everything in the store, it is happily crowded with the friendlest staff ever! The owner Bonnie is awesome! They always have cute little odds and ends as well as one of a kind hats and purses. Love it!

No one else could figure out how to get more stuff in such a small store and still be able to see it all. They sell EVERYTHING. Candy, granola bars, pills, fro yo, coffee, soda, hot dogs, pastries, greeting cards, gifts, lunch, milk, ice cream, stamps, lottery tickets, newspapers, and on and on…

THESIT-REP(Situation Report) This store is MYSOURCE for gum and coughdrops and Vitamin C packets(that I put in my Pepsi One, seriously) if I don’t or didn’t get a chance to buy it by these Eclipse Gum and Riccola cough drops by the PALLET at Costco first! THELOWDOWN Oh! And these owner/cashier girls are HOT and ADORABLE! I’m so happy they have Pepsi on sale there cause otherwise they’d probably think I had no reason to be in their store and would think I was stalking them, which I AM, but I’m also UnilocalING and FOURSQUARING while on the move!(Oh no. Can I actually say«Foursquare» on Unilocal or will I be fined now?)

All«regulars» that work near Posey’s know that they are the best! Bonnie, Natashia, Celeste and Jenice are sweet as pie and will do their best to make sure you find what you are looking for. I had a distinct taste for cereal one morning, but, didn’t bring my «milk» which is soy milk. I mentioned it to Natashia and, before I knew it, they had the best soy milk I’ve ever had for sale! Who would of thought? They carry so many items. Most of the time, they have exactly what you need from gifts to medicine to cards to fruit! I strongly recommend Posey’s for all your various sundries if you live or work near 11th and O street!

Great selection of cards — especially birthday cards. If you work at or near the capitol, and you need a last minute birthday card, it’s definitely the place to go(where you will find something cute and/or funny and/or in poor taste — whatever the occasion calls for). And you won’t pay $ 5+ for a card, like at the other shop on L Street next to See’s. Awesome selection of candy, too.

Posey’s is a convenient general store just a couple of blocks from the Capitol. You come here for candy, coffee, soda and anything else you have a fix for in the middle of the day. They also sell frozen yogurt, great for the summertime.
