Have you ever had tongue taco? man I was craving for tongue taco and I just didn’t want 2 tacos, I wanted to eat this for a week, so I settled for making home-made tongue taco. I watched youtube videos on how to make it and it definitely grossed me out. But I still wanted tongue taco, so this was the closest location to me. Upon driving to it, it was hard to see the little sign, but luckily googlemap told me when to turn. I found the market to be small, but it had the necessities to make tacos. The tongue was pricey as was the other items(produce, tortilla, meat, etc), so I just settled for rice and beans. I wasn’t going to pay $ 20 for beef tongue. I settled for chicken tacos. The place was your typical small mom and pop store. The staff was very quick and polite and there’s a phone or wire transfer booth there too. I didn’t pay much attention to that because they were all speaking Spanish. I will definitely come back for last minute items, but not for the food. The beans and rice didn’t hit the spot.

Hands down the BEST, tastiest and freshest Chicharrónes I’ve yet to eat. First encountered this Mexican market shortly after we moved here in early 2013 only to eventually move blocks away from it and have the convenience of shopping here made all that easier. They still do have the freshest meats available in the beloved old-school butcher shop set-up and even a decent amount of packaged herbs and spices like linden flowers which can be difficult to find locally. And their fresh meat counter Ranchera meat is to date the best I’ve ever had with the exception of what my husband makes and seasons himself for us here at home. With the sweet comes the sour… The area that I couldn’t help but take strong notice of was that of the offensive difference between how I was treated by the staff when I entered this establishment alone verses how they treated me when accompanying my man in the past. Every time I’ve been in this market with the exception of this last time it’s been with my husband who just happens to be of Mexican descent. I am not. On these trips I’ve been greeted with warm welcoming glances, verbal exchanges as well as a welcoming bodily stance. However when I entered this same shop alone I was given the stink-eye and a standoffishness from the moment my feet hit the door to the second I paid and walked out. From the customers too which only furthered my uncomfortableness. I guess this is what discrimination feels like and if so then it sucks it big time. Whenever money changes hands and even if it doesn’t common courtesy and respect to another should be given until the point that it is clear it is not going to happen. Unfortunately this did not occur on my solo trip here recently. However interesting enough, my presence didn’t offend this shops employee enough to to not eagerly take the money from me used to purchase the days goods. Genuinely warm and welcoming customer service should not have to be sacrificed for excellent food and goods. Least not in my book. Will leave the future shopping at this market and Mexican food establishment to my husband.

My friend and I were looking for tacos in the Arden area and Toledo’s market came up on Unilocal. It said Toledo’s had a grocery store, hot meals and a bakery. Of course we had to check it out. Toledo’s is located in a shopping center. The ordering area for hot food is in front of the store so its not hard to miss. The menu on the wall was extensive ranging from enchiladas, tacos, burrito, mole platters and more. I wish they had prices listed next to each menu item. I ended up ordering their carne asada supreme burrito for about $ 8, which included sour cream, guacamole and cheese. It was a large sized burrito and easily could be lunch AND dinner for one person. They do not have soda fountains, but you can pick up cold bottled drinks in the refrigerator cases. They do have a small dining area in the middle of the store with a TV or you could sit at the counter if you wanted to «dine-in». The grocery area was well stocked and clean. There is a bakery towards the back of the store which showcased delicious looking desserts including custard flan, gelatin cups and baked goods. The meat display is very impressive as the meat is well sliced and organized. If I wasn’t there just for lunch, I probably would’ve picked up some groceries for later. I will definitely go back to try the some of their other dishes!

Another great experience! Consistent great customer service. For years I’ve gotten the vegetarian burrito because I’m so delicado(picky) with my meat, and get easily grossed out when finding pieces of fat and cartilage in my food. I’ve tried biggie burritos from all over the state, and this is extremely delicious with a very unique taste. It’s difficult to impress me with a veggie burrito. For the second time coming here(first time eating delicious chilaquiles), I only came because I was starving and needed food before going to the gym across the street. I feel bad for forgetting about this place. I’m definitely gonna have to come back to this area, just to try more things on their menu. Yum yum yum!

I love this place, everyone is always friendly! We get a container of their frijoles almost weekly, because we can’t get enough of them! The produce they have is cheaper than some super markets and they have a huge selection of Mexican groceries. Also, their meats have always been consistently good. I always try to call ahead for food orders though because they only have one checkout and when it’s busy, you’ll have to wait.

My all time favorite Mexican spot! Their super nachos and burritos are delicious! Along with their tacos, I like red meat so I always get carne asada/steak. My sister got a chicken super burrito and that was really good too! Dont forget to ask for Salsa Verde(medium/green salsa) on the side because their salsa verde is so good! & Don’t forget to try their Mexican Popsicles, loved those every since I was a kid! I used to buy them when a Spanish man would ring his bell down the street with his bike and small little freezer! Authentic mexican food! its hard to find one, but if you come here you’ll tummy will be very satisfied. xoxo Chelsie

I will start off by saying I am not a huge fan of Mexican food. I’m super super picky about it. however, this restaurant had thee best food I’ve ever tasted. I had the Chilerellenos and it was really good and authentic. Also really good customer service even tho they were super busy. Restaurants like these put me in such a good mood! Keep the amazing work up!

We had my 40th birthday party for all my friends catered from here. Food was delish and authentic. We ordered 5lbs each: carnitas(so tender and juicy some still on the bone so you know it’s good), Chicken(came with this sauce with onions shredded chicken) and Carne Asada(big pieces of beef with the perfect seasoning right off the grill). Had rice and beans our party had 30 guests we had enough rice and beans for 75. Huge containers. Lots of friends got leftovers. Plus salsa 2 containers each: Verde(green verde had little kick), Roja(red), Spicy(my favorite I love spicy) and Pico de Gallo! And 3 packages street taco tortillas the owner picked out for us we only opened 2 and still have leftovers. We will freeze the rest. Had friends asking where food came from shared Toledos. Price was so so reasonable to feed a crowd. All the food cost about $ 165. That’s like nothing! We will have food catered again from here without a doubt. Only downfall the rice and beans containers were flimsy so the beans opened in the back of the car and left a big mess. But we had enough the missing beans were not missed. Luckily we had stainless steel style chaffing dishes we moved rice and beans to(couldn’t fit it all had 2 huge mixing bowls full of rice and beans that never got touched which are leftover for us. And will feed us for week. Thank you Toledos!

Being new to SAC, I was looking for the real desk in Mexican food… Well, I found it! Friendly quick service I heart their chicken enchiladas… Tastey red sauce with fresh frijoles and arroz and sliced maters and avocado. Their«street tacos» are excellent as well. For groceries? Well, everything from chichironnis to fresh quest and meat behind the counter. Fresh Mexican baked goods… Even mucho Mexican candies. They have a great mix of everything for a small grocer. Soooo, pick up some groceries when in the area(or coming from 24 Hr Fitness across the street) and don’t forget to pick up lunch or dinner in the way out!

Horrible service!!! I bough Tamales and a salsa to take to my office for lunch and all the tamales were raw! They were so soft they couldn’t even be unwrapped without turning into a pile of mushy masa with meat, disgusting. I also bought carnitas and they were flavorless and dry. When I called Toledos to let them know they seemed to not care, almost as if it were so common practice that it didn’t even phase them. Rude. They didn’t even offer a refund or to replace them with cooked tamales but rather said to «bring them in and we’ll see.» As if i was so dumb I couldn’t tell that the tamales were raw. I would suggest you find somewhere else to buy your tamales or food for that matter.

First time here shopping fr some ranchera meat(best carne asada cut) and i gotta say that this place has the best tasting ranchera I’ve cooked, now i felt a lil lazy so i got the already prepared meat and they did an excellent job at it, that’s four thumbs up lol only it is. Haven’t bought anything else from there but the customer service is excellent as well and I’ll be sure to come back for more of their meat stock. I will try the fajita chicken next time.

This place is great !! I recently had a party and placed an order for 15 lbs of Carne Asada and they had everything prepared exactly how i wanted it. They do take big orders, you just have to give them a few days in advance. The service is wonderful and the location is near. If your ever in the neighborhood for some good food. Look no further(=

Just bought 8 tacos and a handful of pan dulces yesterday and I thought to myself«Why didn’t I come to this place before?!» It’s located on Fulton, right across the street from Goodwill and 24 Hour Fitness! This place offers authentic mexican tacos and delicious pan dulce. They stack those tacos with lots of meat! Definitely fulfilling and worth the $ 1.75(: I will definitely be coming back and making this my go-to taco place!

Question: How many hipsters does it take to change a light bulb? I don’t know who these people are kidding. Ordering a burrito from here was a very frustrating experience and the food was eh… mediocre. CONS: The menu is sketchy and the guy I ordered the burrito from was a brand-new employee who barely knew what he was doing, so he messed up my order. And he was the only person who knew English. Not that I’m prejudiced about that, it just makes the ordering process difficult. IThis is Americuh, speak Amerikin! hehe, no really, speak whatever you want, as long as you end up saying«Ben, you are the sheez». They took forever for the burritos to be made and they definitely weren’t better than a supper burrito you could have elsewhere. I think most people are just overwhelmed with the pure authentic-ness of the place. It’s like hipsters sniffed it out and thought they would be cooler for eating at a hole in the wall or something. PROS: Definitely has authentic Mexican ingredients, it’s pretty impressive as a grocery store. The price of the supreme burrito is pretty reasonable. Neat little counter to sit and eat your food also. Answer: It’s an obscure number, you’ve probably never heard of it.
