Tracy Kevin A, MD

Dr. Tracy has been my son’s (now 10 yrs old) doctor since he was born. I understand the reviewer below that she is frustrated by his lack of bedside manner. When choosing a doctor for my son, my primary physician recommended him with a warning that Dr Tracy is a great doctor but he may not be a «feel-​good» doctor for parents. My physician was right.
Still I will choose him all over again because I want the best care for my son, not for my feeling’s sake. When my son got really sick oversea, my husband called him often and got his advice.
Also, I understand that waiting for a long time when you have an appointment is not fun. But when your kid has a sudden illness and needs to see a doctor that day, they try to accommodate you, which is a great assurance.
So my recommendation is that if you have a healthy kid, it’s okay to go with a family doctor, not pediatrician, but if you want the best care for your kid, definitely go with the doctors at this office (UCDMG).

I recently moved to Sacramento and found Dr. Tracy through the UC Davis website. I’ve seen him twice now and I was very dissatisfied both times for many reasons:
1. The waiting room for his pediatric group has NOTHING for kids to do. No books, no coloring, nothing. This would not be such a problem except:
2. Both times I’ve had an appointment I’ve waited about 45 minutes to get in (45 minutes with bored 3 and 5 year olds? Yeah, not fun.). Then, after the nurse got the height/​weight/​blood pressure out of the way it was another 30 minutes in the teeny tiny office with all of 2 books for kids.
3. I am sure Dr. Tracy knows his medicine and he certainly tries to relate to the kids, but he is not great with adults. He didn’t look at me once during either appointment and never asked if I had any questions. The physical he gave my son was hasty. In and out, five minutes flat.
4. They lost my son’s medical records from our previous, out-​of-​state doc.
Meh. I’ve met better. Will be looking for a new one soon.

Dr. Tracy has been our kids’ pediatrician since they were born. Cant say enough good things about the UC Davis Pediatrics Center!
