WholeHearted Juice Co. is officially my favorite place to get Cold-​Pressed juice. It does not get any better than this with the caring staff, incredibly informed owner, and the most delicious juices filled with all good things. This venue, located in the MAARS building on 20^th street in a small, cozy storefront is my new nirvana.
The space is shared with a yoga studio, and it makes for a very calming environment. Juices in the cold case, a relaxing area to hang out, and various yoga displays round out this store.
The first thing I want to point out, is their raw juice blends are 100% organic and everything is sourced locally. Truly farm to fork! The juice is cold-​pressed and never watered down. They call this «living juice» and it retains all the vitamins, minerals, water and proteins.
They bottle everything in glass, and they do this to not waste plastic. The glass containers are recyclable and you can return them and get another one filled.
They also have nut blend juices. They soak raw nuts in spring water and use a Vitamix to create them. Then, they add fresh produce, raw cacao, cacao butters, minerals, essential oils, etc., to make delicious and incredible milk blends. YUM!
I was able to sample several of the juices: Brilliant, Purplexity, Restore, Sweet Clarity, Superhero, and my favorite, Zudonic Tonic, which blends fresh lemon, ginger, honey, cayenne, and turmeric. I purchased a bottle and was instructed to take a shot every day. It is sweet, spicy and sour, truly an amazing mix. One thing to note, these are not cloyingly sweet blends, these are real juices blended to maximize the nutrients to feed your body!
I really enjoyed talking to the owner, Amina, the creator of their juices, who was kind enough to spend ample time with me explaining the techniques and reasons behind the blends. It was such a relief to realize I can order ANYTHING in this place– as I do have some diet restrictions. As the owner, she really takes pride in offering a super high quality product, and it is refreshing to meet someone so interested in providing the best possible service and knowledge to her customers. She is one of the reasons continue to go back.

I have been meaning to try WholeHearted Juices since my yoga studio (Zuda) started carrying them. Today I got to sample probably about 10 of their juices and now I just want to try the rest! I like that their juices are mainly vegetables with just a small amount of fruit juice. I eat tons of fruit as it is and don’t need the extra sugar.
A bottle of their cold pressed organic juice is $ 10 + $ 1 refundable bottle credit (you can get the $ 1 back if you return the bottle). I started with the Zudonic Tonic (lemon, ginger, turmeric, cayenne, and local honey). This drink has a total kick to it, but I love it. Would be a good drink to have to start off your day and get your metabolism going. The Transformation (Beet, Kale, Celery, Apple, Orange, Lemon, Ginger) didn’t have as strong of a beet flavor as I am used to (I love beets), but I am sure that makes it more appealing to other people. There was a little lemon and ginger to give it a slight kick and some apple and orange to give it a little sweetness. This drink would be more filling than the Zudonic Tonic. I also tried Moxie (Collard Greens, Broccoli, Cucumber, Parsley, Celery, Green Apple, Lemon, Ginger) that was more of a standard green juice. There was enough apple to make it not feel like you were just having plain lettuce, but not too sweet. More like how putting fruit in water would add that little bit of extra flavor.
WholeHearted also has a large amount of nut juices. I was able to try the Verry Berry (Spring Wanter, Raw Almonds, Cacao Butter, Sea Salt, Dates, Ocean Minerals, Pure Vanilla) that was totally different than other nut milks that I have had because of the slight berry flavor with it. Because of the almonds, this drink could be used as a meal and would be a lot more filling than the others. With more protein too.
Finally, I got to try the FitMint (coconut Flesh, Coconut H2O, Super Greens, Mint Oil, Sea Salt, Ocean Minerals, Drop of Stevia). This was another lighter drink with solid minty flavor. Didn’t taste sweet at all to me. It would be good with coffee or their chocolate almond milk for sure. Would also be a good drink to sip on before a date or something because I am sure it would help with your breath.
I ended up taking a bottle of the Gold Rush (Golden Beet, Cucumber, Celery, Apple, Cilantro and Lime) home with me because I love beets and cilantro. This drink was very light and refreshing for me and it only had a slight beet flavor. There was enough apple to add a little sweetness, but you could taste more of the cucumber and cilantro instead.

This place is awesome! They really put their heart into their work. I was able to try several of their juices at an event at Asha Yoga. They’re actually located inside of the yoga studio — they have a little pop up outside the workout area. The owner is a real gem and a beautiful woman, inside and out. I would recommend any of their juices, as they taste so fresh and are made of all organic ingredients. I am glad we have juice companies that truly care about their product here in Sacramento.

Delicious, raw, healthy, flavorful. Everything just taste so fresh! I love the juices and I was hesitant on trying the milk drinks but I was wrong! I ended up buying the cashew and varry berry (almond) milk bottles. I can’t afford to get it that often but I wish I could!

The first step i walked into this place i felt like i had a flash back in the back of my mind saying what did you eat and how can improve your diet. Next thing you know the environment is very nice and quiet and relax with a table and low seating pads for you to sit and sip and meditate. Nice and cozy environment for you to enjoy in there.

Out of the few juice i have sampled i really like the purple cabbage juice! i still can’t get over how wonderful this juice can cure hangover! yes! i mean thats way better than taking some pills to prevent hangover. This drink might not sound good, but it tasted really fresh and calm in every sip. The good thing about this juice is that you don’t need to drink the whole thing to cure the hang over, only drink half the bottle. it also cleanse out the system and help with supplying nutrients to the body without all the sugar.
Another main focus of their juice drinks, is that they only use 10% of the fruit sugar and 90% of the veggies in their juices. They focus on the veggies and nutrients to make your body happy and feeling 100x better.
Each juice has a different vibe and purpose. The staffs are very informative, patient, and they will let you know what the juices can do. After sampling the juices, i have learned how magical these juices can do to your body. I need to start juicing more often since i have a juicer in the pantry and untouched for a while. I think after this experience it made me want to start living a healthier style and participate in detox program soon. Its never too late when you want to start it.
Pricing — each bottle of juice is $ 10 with a dollar deposit for the glass bottle, so it will be $ 11 out the door. Every time you come back and return the bottle you get a dollar off for returning the bottle. The concept is to go green and protect the environment.
Food — Green boheme
They have partnered up with green boheme which they serve vegan food. The food creations is very creative and different. Each bite you take is guilt free at least to my thoughts. The food is awesome and healthy and filling too. Some food i have tried below are
Vegan nachos — They homemade their own preserved squash corn chips which is shaped in a triangle with a crispy texture! Next the spanish rice, salsa, sour cream, beans, and cheese! Every little ingredient is homemade and for sure vegan! If i wasn’t informed on how it was made, i would never had been able to tell the difference because it was that great!
Pesto pizza — The crust is made out of nuts and etc, which is a wow how is that possible, next you can taste the richness of pesto and fresh veggie toppings on top! A few noticeable toppings were the softened portebello mushrooms, and heirloom tomatoes! This was definitely the most healthiest pizza i ever bite into.
Wellness burger — Okay, burger without the buns! Using crisp romaine lettuce to replace the carb is a great idea and saves me much more time on the cardio machines at 24 hr shitness. The burger patty was made out of nuts and veggies! This little buyer was very tasty! Every bite was like no guilt of heart attack, like arteries clog free lol… thumbs up to this creation and its so cute in a bite size serving sample.
Chocolate pudding — rich chocolate beans used to make this delicious pudding was gut punching good! Loved every little spoon bites i can get out of this. Gluten and vegan how uhh mazing is that.
Overall after sampling these wonderful food, it felt like i had a full 3 course dinner, appetizer, main entrée, and dessert. It was surprisingly filling, and was around 75% full. Well thats what everyone tells me to stop eating and leave room to digest and feel better too. Overall a fan of the juice and food provided here, thanks for reading and lets start juicing! Sign me up! I feel healthier just walking in. The juices are wonderfully balanced with amazing combinations… some expected, some not. Kale? Check. Ginger? Check. Cashews? Checkety-​check!
True, my wallet was a little lighter as well, but if clearer skin and a healthier mindset is the result, so be it!

I know that it’s sooo easy to decide to grab a burger to go or order a pizza and have it delivered to your home or even better what I’m used to doing is grabbing the caffeine filled drink at a local coffee shop to make it through my day. What I tend to forget about all of those and so many of the other choices I make is how bad these items are for me and while they might be convenient they aren’t what’s right for me.
I recently discovered this little jem! I have realized that I need to start taking better care of myself and stop taking the easy route and this place can help me and you do just that. They offer many different juices all with different and great benefits! I have yet to try one that I don’t like. They have done a wonderful job of «masking» the veggie taste with amazing flavors.
I have to admit my favorite one is the superhero… it’s a coffee based drink that gives you amazing energy without the awful gitters you often get with energy drinks or too much coffee (my tip would be to make sure you warm it up… I thought I would drink it cold since I like cold coffee and turns out its much better warmed since it allows the ingredients to mix better).
All of their drinks help me feel better and who doesn’t like feeling better!!! They also offer monthly juice clubs and cleanses. I can’t wait to try the cleanses out! I will update my post with info on that once I try it!
I know that they offer their products at local events like farmers markets so try and grab a bottle when you run into them out and about but also try this adorable location nestled in with a yoga studio on the boardwalk on 20^th. This location is so adorable and just feels so comforting and relaxing, it is such a great space. I hear they are opening another location soon so I can’t wait to try that out!
They currently sell raw food from another local company at this location and I had never tried raw food before this place and never wanted to because I thought it wouldn’t have flavor but boy-​oh-​boy was I wrong. I have had their raw vegan nacho, the lettuce wrapped burger with mushrooms and red bell pepper and their pesto pizza. All of it was mouth watering and delicious!

I work right above WholeHearted, and they are so friendly, Aaron says hi to me every morning, even before I became a customer. The juice is fantastic, I have had the opportunity to sample many flavors and it is hard to pick only 1! I highly recommend WholeHearted to all of my friends! And no you don’t have to be on a juice cleanse to drink it! Go now try it you will be happy you did!

This juice has changed the way I view raw juice !!! I drink 6 juices a week and feel better than ever. My wife is a 6 a week member and my kids ask for it by name. This juice and it ethical leadership is amazing !!!
