I’m a regular at 1st Wok. My husband and I eat here at least once every two weeks. The food isn’t AMAZING, but it certainly is good and filling. I have only had a few bad experiences here, and usually it’s been at the end of a day, when quality issues are to be expected. The staff is nice and friendly, however one of their non-Asian servers is somewhat rude(we nicknamed him Vin Diesel, if you seem him you’ll know why). He used to be very friendly and cool to talk to, but lately he seems depressed. Their soups are very good, and they have a very nice selection. My favorites are the Egg Drop Soup(which varies in taste and texture from day to day, so this implies it’s made from scratch), buttered mushrooms, sauteed green beans, coconut shrimp, dumplings, buttered salmon, pork and mushrooms, and their mussels. 1st Wok is one of the few Chinese buffets in town that serves mussels, and it’s one of the reasons I return. I do wish that they brought back one of their simplest yet amazing dishes: Bacon wrapped pineapple! They were just little bite sized things on toothpicks, but they were great and I’m just too lazy to make them at home. They have separate dinner and lunch buffets, there’s about a three dollar price difference. Dinner often includes crab legs and frog legs. Sunday is all-day dinner buffet. I do wish they’d do something about the heat and humidity though. On cold days, my glasses fog up with I walk in and I can’t see for five minutes.
