C.R.’s Auto Repair

I got check engine light on, then went to AutoZone got «FREE diagnose». I took the report and went to C R’s to get estimate for fixing the issue. Very rude old lady told me that I need to get «Professional diagnose» to pin point what is the exactly wrong with the car and it will cost me $ 60 dollars and takes about 30 to 45 minutes. I told them go ahead do it. One guy showed up and took my car, 5 minutes later he brought exactly same report what I got from AutoZone for free and tole me to I need to pay $ 160 for fixing and they will check more from it. I told them about it then again the RUDE OLD front lady told me that those reports are different. It was in different paper and format, but all information were same. I PAID $ 60. and went to 2J’s automotive Transmission which is other car repair shop and told them about what was just happened me. They were so surprised and took look at my car for FREE. The guy told me that only I need is use higher quality of gas for a while and I should not need to worry anything about it. He did not charge a penny for the service because he told me that he did not fix anything. I never want to go back to C R’s and bring all my family cars to 2J’s for every car problem or service from now on. I hate the C R’s lack of business ethic so much. I don’t think they deserve to keep business at all.

I needed my air conditioner fixed (replace condenser). I called several location to get a quote, Honda dealership quoted me $ 1,600 (I had Honda diagnose problem $ 100) few other shops came in close to the $ 1,600 quote, some were higher, some were lower, and some shops took my information and never called me back. CR’s Auto did not do that. I talked to Sam he told me he would call me back in 5 min with quote and he did. This is already better service than I got with Honda Fort Worth. His quote came in at less than half price, this confused me I thought I miss quoted the issue to them and so the quote was wrong. That was not the case, so, I asked Sam to explain the issue and how he can be half price of his competitors. He did and he made me feel as though he knew what he was doing. I then asked how long it would take he said if I dropped it off that night (night drop) he would have it ready the next day. this is a 1 day turn around for a job several other shops said it would take 2 — 3 days. Could be lack of business, could be good customer service, could just be a competent man that has experience fixing this issue. I did not know, but it was worth a shot to me, I trusted him by talking to him on the phone. Dropped my van off that night, the next day at 12:30pm it was ready. It came in $ 38 dollars higher than his original low quote but he also did some basic maintenance that it needed (changed air filterer in cabin). Van blows better than it has ever in the past. I am very appreciative for his help on this matter.

The most dishonest mechanic I have have been too. I was having issues with my alternator and battery light flashing. The had «fixed» the problem as soon as I got in my truck the battery light was flashing. Left it with them another day and they «fixed» that but little did I know they just cut a wire so my battery light didn’t work. Put me in a really bad situation thinking my truck was alright to drive and it wasn’t. Truck died on a very busy highway. Cost $$$$ to find what they did and fix it properly. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. Go somewhere else. Save yourself the trouble.
