I remember going here as a kid and I loved it! I have since moved to California but I used to live about 5 minutes away and my family would go there all the time. I don’t know what’s there now but before I moved in 2000 they had added a lot of new exhibits.

A zoo in the middle of downtown Saginaw? Yes, and it’s worth the visit. Saginaw has a wealth of family centered opportunities. Children’s Zoo at Celebration Square is one of the best. They have a number of great membership packages available. We went with the family pass at $ 65. The regular admission price is $ 7 ages 1 and up. The membership really is the best deal, if you plan on going more than once a year. Discounts being the main reason. You can ride the train and carousel as many times as you’d like for free. Normally a $ 2 charge per person, each ride. They are on a reciprocal list meaning you can go to a number of other zoos throughout the US — either for free or at a reduced price. Also, there is a 10% discount on at the gift shop. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It is well maintained and there is a decent selection of animals for a smaller zoo. It’s large enough to keep a family busy for a few hours without getting bored. Small enough to visit in the midst of daily errands. I only gave the zoo 4 stars instead of 5 because their«natural wetland» exhibit is a bit of a disappointment. It opened a few years ago and while the walk down into a cave like atmosphere is exciting, the viewing windows are covered in natural algae making it impossible to see any fish at all. Visit it, love it and don’t be afraid to see what Saginaw has to offer your family.
