Pretty darn good for a community public pool. The kids area is great with several areas of play. The bigger kid are is deeper and the kids have a great time jumping off the side. The life guards are very observant and watch the swimmers better than some of the parents! They have a 10 minute time out every hour which is a great reminder to potty and put on more sunscreen. They allow food, drinks and coolers. And cheap!

We only use the Rec center in the summer for the public pool and each summer we are disappointed by the staff. The lifeguards look board and are unfriendly. They also have a rule where they make all kids get out of the pool for adult swim time for ten minutes. My toddler doesn’t understand that because she just watches the lifeguards play in the pool for ten minutes while kids sit on the side crying. Keller pointe is much better so I will pay the extra money to go and have friendly services.

I have been coming here for years and I really like this place. They offer several classes to the community — everything from jazzercise & zumba to karate to swimming lessons. They have a pretty decent little gym inside and a full size basketball court as well. The people who work in the lobby are friendly and helpful and there are numerous flyers about events and classes that they have coming up. They are fairly priced and they have child care available during certain hours, so you can go exercise and you know your kids are being cared for. My kids have attended the summer camp that they offer from June through August and they really enjoyed it. It’s $ 100 per week per child and they offer all kinds of planned activities for the kids and swimming several times a week, too. The hours are from 7am-6pm. We have been members of the pool for years as well and I have been very pleased with the way things are run there and the cleanliness of the facilities. They have a huge area for little ones. The water is shallow and you can sit and watch as they explore or enjoy it with them. They have a whole«playground» area with the big overhead buckets that fill up and dump down every couple minutes. For the bigger kids/adults, they have two big tube slides and lots of swimming lanes. They have a snack bar and an ice cream vending machine. You have to get here early on the weekends though if you want a chair — it gets pretty busy. Anyone can use the pool, but Saginaw residents get a discount. You can buy a membership for just the pool, or just the rec center, or both. Or, you can pay per day that you use it. I recommend it :)
