Just a disaster. I moved from Vermont to New York City in February and have waited to post this review thinking that my fury at these guys would subside but it hasn’t. I guess that’s testament to how bad it was. First, the positive. Logan(who I presume is the owner) was very quick to initially confirm the booking which I had placed through . It ends there. He left a message on my phone wanting to discuss details — the moving date, the size of my apartment, big furniture items, etc. on February 17th. I emailed him back with the details later that day(the actual move date was the 22nd). I didn’t hear back from him after calling several times to follow-up, so I sent another email on the 20th. He finally got back to me that evening. Normally 3 days waiting is not a huge deal except that by the 20th, I was only 2 days away from moving and had not been able to confirm anything with Logan except that I was, in fact, moving. Since I was moving several hours away, I wanted to start as early as possible. I asked him if that was OK and he said he’d make it work — he just had his grandmother’s funeral that morning that he needed to go to. I have no proof that the funeral interfered, but the move seemed rushed, and he mentioned the funeral a few times during the move so I was inevitably acutely aware that this job was keeping him away from it. What I wished had happened was that he just cancelled our move. His grandmother’s funeral should definitely take precedence, and my move and her funeral should not be compromised at the expense of the other. When he finally showed up the morning of the move, he was very polite.(Another positive.) He and his team packed three U-boxes for me, and to be fair, they were surprisingly strong at lifting my heavy furniture considering they are not particularly«built» men. The entire move took several hours, not outside my expectations. Fast forward to a few months later when I’m in New York, have finally found an apartment and am unloading my U-boxes. Though I realize that things shift in transit and occasionally items do break, NOTHING in the boxes that I packed was damaged. On the other hand, there were SIGNIFICANT scratches on the surface of my nearly-new console table, a heavy item left on the arm of my sofa seems to have permanently damaged it, and the base of my 40″ TV was completely snapped off.(The TV is unrepairable, so now the only way to use it is to mount it.) I attribute all of this to poorly-packed U-boxes. In retrospect, I realized that the packing was done sloppily and without foresight into how things may shift in transit. I emailed Logan after the move in the beginning of May to express how disappointed I was with the experience. Not surprisingly, he never got back to me.(All the more disappointing!!!) Overall, between the blurred lines between personal issues and professional ones(which I am sympathetic to — he just should have cancelled instead of trying to make it work) and the haphazard packing that was done, I am not impressed. Be warned.
