The food was fine; we split a blackened grouper. Although the waiter acted as if this was a first, that they normally don’t serve grouper blackened. For $ 35, I think they should serve it any way we wanted. When he brought our $ 75 bill, he included a mint. One. Mint. I’m underwhelmed. We have to return because we have another Groupon coupon, but that will most likely be our last visit.

Located in a beautiful Victorian house, Raintree is a lovely combination of great location, warm ambiance, friendly and capable service and an interesting and eclectic menu. My spouse had the crispy duckling, and proclaimed it excellent. I had the fettuccine Alfredo– it was ok, neither the best nor the worst I have had. The wine list is respectable and had several affordable options. Prices in general are fairly reasonable, considering the restaurant is in a resort area. However, two menu/pricing issues that irritated me: 1.) they add $ 3 to the price of many of the entrees on weekend nights, for no reason other than they can; and 2.) they automatically add the gratuity, regardless of size of party.

Note: Although I have dined here many times over the years for lunch & dinner this review is solely based on my recent visit for late night dessert. Dining al fresco here is beautiful and ideal. During the day when it’s hot with the breeze from the beach it’s a great place to people watch. At night it’s chilly and the patio & trees are lit brightly with white stringed lights. It’s the perfect place to unwind & relax after a long day with a drink or 2 and maybe dessert. This was the case on this particular night with a dessert on my mind. When I walked onto the patio and informed a waiter I’d like a patio seat he introduced the other waiter that would be taking care of me as «Trav-animal». They both laughed and walked away. I found no humor in it and was actually speechless. This set the overtone for a poor experience. My actual server Jessica was however polite but it was a bit too late. Add to that the chocolate mousse with raspberry & chocolate sauce was way less than stellar. It was not airy and fell close to the category of a pudding. The small amount of sauce was more of a syrup and was off putting. I was hoping for a more relaxed experience. Be aware that an 18% gratuity is automatically added to your bill.

After reading reviews I was skeptical going in, however, our server, Samantha, was excellent. She was very attentive and had great suggestions when asked. The food was great from the appetizer to the main course all the way through to the dessert! I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend Samantha! Thanks again Raintree for the great experience!

Had a great night at Raintree. Samantha was a wonderful server, the food from appetizers to desert were fantastic. Highly recommend the shrimp and lobster pasta. Will be back, many times I’m sure!

Completely agree with other reviews about the snobby & rude staff. This has got to be some of the worst I have encountered. And what they have to be snobby about I am not sure. The first night we went there we chose something close to our hotel. We saw a half empty front courtyard & asked if we could sit out front. They asked if we had reservations, to which we said No. They acted like the might not be able to accommodate us. My Mom told them 2 with a possible 3rd person later, to which the gentleman replied Well that will be very valuable information in a snotty tone. He then took off to a table stating he was going to only seat us at a 2 top. My Mom asked the lady there if it was possible to sit outside at all. He then turns around & shouts follow me at us. Luckily our server was nicer & food wasn’t bad. When my Dad did show up, boy did he hustle to get an extra setting. P. s. Those outside tables & the ones upstairs never did fill up. Experience #2: we decided to stop in for a cappuccino & dessert on the way back to the hotel. Again attempting to sit outside, we stopped a waitress & asked if that was ok. She said that shouldn’t be a problem but to check with the boss. So we met with a different guy this time & he said oh no we have set seating for coffee only & pointed out a space to the side of the bar. So we took a seat there. Well time went by, servers went by… nothing. There was a server chatting up a guest at the bar with his hands all over her. So since he was busy I went up to the bartender & asked if we could have a coffee & desserts menu. Before I could finish my sentence he laughed & said someone will be out to you. I didn’t see the humor. I guess my attempt at giving this place a second chance was going to hell. So our server Gretchen then comes over later &THROWS the menus on the table at us. She says what do u want? We are so taken back, we just stare at each other for a min. Then my Mom manages to say 2 cappuccinos. At that moment forget anything else. So we forget dessert. She had the rudest attitude I have ever seen. I could not believe my eyes. We ask for the bill & surprise surprise they include a tip. So no wonder, they know they are going home with a tip no matter how atrocious they act. This whole place needs customer service training. Worst I have ever seen. Would not recommend to anyone.

We made a reservation on Open Table, showed up :30 early and were seated right away. Service was great — the meal moved along beautifully: cocktail — appetizer — salads — meal & wine — dessert. As it should be. The homemade sausage was great — a little kick to it but certainly not overwhelming to those who might be unaccustomed to spice. Shrimp dishes come with tail-on — not a problem for us, but FYI for those who don’t expect the tail. Escargot appetizer was good — came with crusty french bread to sop up oil and buttery tidbits. A nice meal out for a final night of vacation.

It was OK. The décor would have been fun in 1988, food was OK, the staff and service was excellent.

See my tip below. Not as impressed as I had hoped. Music was Regge I had thought in this venue soft classic would be appropriate Then they automatically added a 15% tip on my bill. I HATETHIS! doesn’t give the staff any reason to do a great job and ours was average — not great. I can say I’ve eaten here but won’t go back.

Tolle Atmosphäre! Man sitzt im Wintergarten oder im Biergarten. Sehr guter Service. Das Fleisch war Perfekt! Gute Lage in der Nähe aller Sehenswürdigkeiten.

This restaurant was recommended by friends from Jacksonville and we have eaten here at least 4 times over the past year. We have had exceptional service and being with a group have sampled a variety of food. The Filet’s we had were cooked to perfection. There are several specials each night and two of the fish entrees we have sampled stuffed with crab but with a different finishing sauce were excellent and flavorful. The braised duck with a plum sauce is worth another trip. Wait staff is very attentive to the needs of the diners. I would recommend this restaurant for a group or for a more intimate outing. We will be back again and cannot wait to try additional specials.
