It’s an affordable hotel that’s closed to the interstate. The staff is nice but the room that we were in was kinda rundown. The tub had rust on it. The door way in the bath room had rust as well. The toilet wasn’t working when we got there. The front desk girl had to fix it. And the wifi wasn’t working. Over all I think there are better hotels in the area.

If you’re looking for an affordable and clean hotel with great accessibility to the Interstate, beaches and the outlets, this is the hotel for you.
Stayed here with some friends for 1 night. We had a good stay for the most part. Some of the observations:
— The rooms are spacious although a bit dated in décor. Don’t expect the bells and whistles. It was a little humid in our room but once the AC was turned on, it cooled off rather quickly!
— I have to agree with previous reviewers comments on the weak water pressure in the shower along with the overused towels. The hotel should look into investing in new and improved shower heads. As well as fluffier towels, if it’s in the budget.
–The walls are super paper thin so you can hear the screaming of little ones in the room next door.
–The curtains don’t block out the sunlight 100% so wearing a sleeping mask may be in order.
–Ample parking surrounding the hotel
–On another note, I am a bit concerned over security. The front entrance is open to everyone coming and going and room cards are not needed to go from floor to floor.
For all the things I did observe, I did like some of the amenities offered:
— There is a small fridge available to store your drinks and snacks.
— There is a continental breakfast offered
–Free WiFi
— They also have a gym and pool on property.
I think that for the price paid, this room is a great value. Just means more $$ for shopping! :)

Everything you would expect from an average hotel. Clean rooms and quality service at an affordable rate.
The only thing that turned me off was the weak water pressure in the shower. It felt like the water was drizzling. I was forced to stand really close to the shower head while I was showering. Also, the towels seemed to be a little overused. They were no longer plush like new towels and seemed a bit past their expiration date.
All in all, I had a comfortable stay and would definitely consider staying at a Wingate in the future.

Nice, simple, and clean hotel. The staff in general are very nice and accommodating. The breakfast in the morning consists of typical free hotel breakfast (waffle maker, bread, fruit, eggs, sausage, juice, etc) and is pretty decent compared to other hotel breakfast’s which I have eaten before. The rooms are very clean and smell great. The ONLY thing I have a problem with is the fact that they advertise «fitness center» when really all it is is a small room with a lousy treadmill, lousy elliptical machine, broken bike machine, and one weight machine… not to mention that it has a big glass window which looks out into the front lobby, not my idea of a good time at a «fitness center.» Whatever, I can live three days without my New York gym… Overall, I am happy.

We stayed here for Labor Day 2013 weekend and the location was great! We were directly across the street from the outlets and the beach was about 15 – 20 mins away. I would definitely stay here again if I were to visit Saint Augustine on a budget (would love to stay at a beach house though, but my pockets couldn’t afford it for that trip). Overall the hotel was clean (I’m slightly OCD with cleanliness so that says a lot).

Good place for the family. Good free breakfast. Reasonable price. Would stay again.

This hotel was just fine for our family! Drawbacks are that it’s a bit of a drive into town, and there’s not much in the way of restaurants nearby. The hotel was clean, and the staff that we dealt with was very helpful. The pool was also clean (a bit warm for wanting to cool off), and there’s also a hot tub. The little shop they have is a little short on supplies (e.g. no diapers), but at least it’s there. Price was only $ 89 for two queens, which seemed like a pretty good deal.

Very good quality — right up there with a nicer Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn. Our room was clean and comfortable with granite countertops. We wish that there had been a sink outside the bathroom and that the bathroom had a fan to remove the steam.
Breakfast was good, not great. I saw them refill the name-​brand cereal containers with generic versions. That’s cheap.
Our one room stay for two queens was $ 112.86 — about 20 or 30 dollars too high, I think.
Even so, the cleanliness and comfort are the main factors for us.
