2nd Street Beads

A small shop, I found it 15 minutes before closing. The staff was helpful even though it was clear they wanted to close.

A friend and I visited this store with her young children while looking for some beads for a special order and to inspire new ideas. The selection of various types of seed beads alone is rather impressive. We browsed through a dish of 25 cent glass beads, finding 10 to inspire new jewelry pieces. We found the perfect colors and sizes of Swarovski crystals to use for a bridesmaid order. Plus, I picked out a strand of zebra agate stone beads that has my creative wheels spinning.
The supplies they had seemed a bit over-​priced (especially the bead design boards), but there was a decent selection of tools and findings to go along with the two rooms of beads.
Major plus for us: There was a small box of toys that occupied my friend’s two young girls while we browsed. This was probably the easiest store to take them into, because we could browse rather than constantly beg the children to look with their eyes, not their hands.
Neither of us had a lot of questions for the employees, so I cannot attest to their knowledge, but I can say that they were incredibly pleasant.
We will likely visit this store again. We found the selection to be very good, and the atmosphere quiet and pleasant. Prices seemed a bit high, but we still found some treasures.
A parking lot is located behind the store. Steps lead up to the front door, so strollers and wheelchairs will be difficult if not impossible to get inside.

this place was pretty lame. A client of mine brought me here to look for some components to make her bridesmaids jewelry. While they have a small selection of beads and other findings there was not a thing there that wowed me. The woman working had very little jewelry making knowledge and gave me a lot of puzzled looks when I asked her questions. Go somewhere else. It isn’t worth the stop. It was an absolute waste of time for us.
