What a GEM! This is an amazing wine shop with an incredible selection ranging from wines to bourbons, scotch, rums, & more! They also had an array of cheeses that the lovely Amber was happy to allow us to sample a wide range of. Here’s a tip, there is a triple cream that is to die for. We had a blast and cannot wait to return.

Great selection of wine and the most friendly staff. Susan and the other employees took such a joy and pride in the store I thought they were the owners. This is a nice place to go whether you are looking for a bottle to drink at home, take to a dinner party, or give as a gift. The employees are very educated on the wines and offer excellent recommendations for what you might be looking for.

This wine and cheese shop is run by Michael and Elizabeth with the help of Kevin, Katelyn, & Ben. They focus on boutique wines from both old and new world sources. You will not find Kendall Jackson or Debouf Beaujolais but you will find a better wine at the same price. They also have craft spirits for the cocktail occasions a good selection of craft beers from local breweries and smaller producers from out of state. The North Coast Brewery in Mendocino is my favorite. The cheese counter has a small but quality selection of local salamis. The cheese selection is quite good with Kevin the cheese monger happily handing out samples to make sure you get what you want. For many years St. Charles has been without a wine resource that is not Sam’s or Costco. The staff is knowledgeable and will listen to your price requirements and preferences for flavor profile before making any recommendations. Cork & Rind is a welcome addition to our neighborhood and they will make you look good at your next dinner. We will see you at the tasting bar :-)

10⁄10 would get drunk again. Srsly tho, this place is the bomb dot com blackslash yo mom. My home away from home. Booze lovers’ paradise! Quaint yet tidy little nook on first capitol that sells mostly wine, but also has a selection of hard liquor/spirits, and some craft beers. Periodically has specialty tastings e.g. recently had Gin Girl Natasha over to do a(free!) gin tasting. Every Saturday, there’s fresh bread for sale and let me tell you, this bread is killer. They only have it Saturdays though, so get you some! The rosemary/herb bread is my flavorite. Really love the overall vibe of this place and best of all — the staff are SUPER friendly, knowledgeable, and sweet. Had only been my 2nd or 3rd time in, and they remembered my name. St. Charles really needs more places like this. I am tired of all the damn nic nac shops on Main Street, need moar booze shops, yo! But I like that this is off main because less crazy drivers and my car doesn’t ride like a shopping cart on 1st capitol, lol. They DO have a small parking lot, btw. And don’t accidentally park in the lot beside it(not referring to Crooked Tree) I mean the private lot, because I went over there once by accident, and some legit cray dude came running out screaming at me.(awkward.) I think he would benefit from walking over to C&R and gettin’ him some booze to take the edge off. ^__~ I plan to sign up for one of their tasting classes eventually. This uncouth alchie would like to learn more about the booze I so dearly enjoy. That said, no one who works here is snobby by any means! You will feel welcome when you come in, no matter who you are. Don’t know the diff between pinot noir or pinot grigio? NOWORRIES. They don’t GAF if you aren’t up on your wine nomenclature, and they will be glad to answer any questions/explain the winemaking process/etc. I like store staff that isn’t pushy, snobby, or rude, so that is why I like C&R. They sell a lotta high end wines but there’s also the«bargain rack» aka the place I make a beeline for. ;) Good to know you can swing by here and pick up some über high-end shit, or grab a quick-n-affordable-yet-awesome bottle for $ 10 or less… !! Oh did I mention they have delectable cheeses and meats behind their deli counter? Hell yes, this place even has a deli counter. So I basically don’t have to go to Schnucks anymore!!! Now, if only they sold yarn & chocolate. Mmmm. dangerous, bahaha!!! Srsly, go in there and tell them the alcoholic who lives down the street sentcha! Us winos gotta look out for one another. They also sell decanters, bottle openers, &c. Alcohol & alcohol accessories. LOL. PS: Closed on Mondays, so stock up Sunday so you won’t be experiencing withdrawal symptoms on Monday! :-P Only wish they had a little patio area or something where ppl can sit and drink and eat cheese and knit. Err. Yeah. But that’s probably a separate license or some crap. IDK. I am not a business owner, it sounds like a lot of work, so massive kudos to these wonderfully kind and intelligent folks!
