Was in here over the weekend not only is the place dirty but i watched the bus boy… not a boy more like a 50 year old man try amd fight a customer because of reasons that didnt really seem clear. Overal it was an uncomfortable and dirty experience. Used to love this place. Never going back now.

DISGUSTING. We couldn’t even eat here because the place was so disgustingly dirty! What a rat hole. The waitress had crud all over her shirt. The floor is sticky, and slimy. I will never subject myself to walking into that place again. There were dirty plates piled up at the one end of the counter.

My dad introduced my husband and I to Travis’. He brought takeout sliders to our house on a hectic Saturday, I’m no fan of White Castle and unfortunately never gave sliders a real shot because of my turn off. Was I ever missing out? Yes! TIP: Don’t ever take«fast food» as a stage to judge food. Anyways, I was so starved the day the sliders arrived in a greasy brown paper bag, I did not care and ate whatever was placed in front of me. After one bite, my mind was changing, after one burger, I was hooked. Travis’ is not close to my home but it is well worth the drive. It is a typical hole in the wall treasure so don’t expect silver platters. We always get the 6 or 12 sliders with the works, cheese, grilled onions, mustard, ketchup and pickles. Prices are good, waitresses and cooks are polite, place is 24 hours which is an awesome bonus. Try this place.

Let’s keep this review in perspective. … not gourmet high end establishment. It’s your typical greasy spoon that has economical breakfast, late night after drinks food that hits the spot. Always there when you need it. Not the heart smart place either. Don’t go unless you have these expectations.

Wether you are capping off a long night of boozing or just in the mood for some wicked good sliders, Travis is the place to be. Their sliders are the best I had and that is not a title that is given out lightly. I have had sliders from all over the state and this is where my vote goes. The only reason why I don’t give the place a 5 star is because it is a little run down.

This place is classic! The food is absolutely delicious. The ambiance, well let’s just say it’s like being in a time warp. But hey, the reason you go to a restaraunt is the food, and they can deliver.

This is such a wonderful place! opens 24hrs, tasty, cheap, very generous portion and friendly staff! It is not a trendy spot, and food is somewhat greasy. But I still like this place a lot. Feel like more of comfort food. In this sense, I can’t eat their food every day, but can’t avoid it either, am going there once every week or so. Soups are really good, probably my favorite there. it’s only cash by the way

Great cheap greasy breakfast place at 3 a.m. Slider burgers are decent too. You get 6 for about $ 10 with cheese and grilled onions. Fries to go are served in a brown paper bag and the grease drips right out– ah, good stuff. Be warned– CASHONLY.

This place is a great place to people watch. Chances are high you’ll walk out with a story to tell your family and or friends. Epic memories have been in this place. The dirty interior, the greasy food & workers are equally greasy! Especially everyone’s favorite senior waitress that is, well, resentful she is still working, and takes it out on every customer. She don’t discriminate; you’ll be her whipping post. I have been a willing costumer for decades. Total love-hate experience with their food. Prices are so cheap, you’ll feel like they never raised them from the 70’s. Their breakfast items are delicious, even better after 2:00 a.m. My favorite is their French Toast and spicy sausage. I’m not ruling out any of their breakfast items. I’d give them all two thumbs up. I have a hard time ordering anything else, no matter the time of day. I moved a half a decade ago from the area. So, it’s hard to be in the area and not stop for a bite or a carry-out. I always hope I don’t have to deal with Miss. Senior Sunshine as I approach the door. Sliders are legendary. I even had them and went into labor the next day; true story.(Talk about being worried.) Fish fly season? I’d bypass eating there. Trust me on this. The area isn’t what it use to be(although, the Pointers are still in denial), but Travis will always be a constant. A place that you will never catch yourself saying, do you remember when it was clean? I’d give it a 5 star if it wasn’t for the after shock it has on my body and the world’s worst waitress. Hey, lady, read up!!! I’m there to eat, not to be aggravated by a worker, and having to keep my cool about your behavior. Take notes. 15%? 20& up %? Duhhhhh! One last word of advice, don’t look at who is cooking your food. Just don’t do it. Haven’t been? Add Travis to your bucket list. Pun intended? You be the judge.

A few weeks ago my wife and I decided to go to Travis for a quick and cheap lunch. The food is good for being a greasy spoon type of place. But beware if your waitress is a senior citizen woman with short gray hair and glasses. After ordering our drinks, we folded our menus and waited for her to return for our food order. We waited. And waited. And waited. There were perhaps four, maybe five other patrons in the restaurant, which is small. She KNEW we were waiting, and let me tell you… she made sure that WE knew that she knew we were waiting. She did everything but come over to our table… she answered the phone(even though there were other employees there who could have done so), she cashed people out, she walked by seemingly aimlessly, not even glancing our way. Well. After waiting nearly 30(!) minutes, my wife decided to go up and pay for our drinks so we could just leave. We were highly and rightfully irritated. As soon as my wife went up to pay,(surprise, surprise!) the old bag finally decided we were worth her time and swooped over to us to take our order. My wife returned to our table and we ordered through gritted teeth. Even after this entire rude encounter, the waitress still didn’t smile or act as though she cared much. I would have given Travis 3 or maybe even 4 stars, but after dealing with this woman who clearly resented her job, they’re lucky I’m giving it 2 stars.

No trip to Detroit is complete without a trip to Travis. Their ancient griddle imbues the deliciously greasy little sliders with a nearly magical flavor that only years use can provide. They are delicious and perfectly cooked, browned edges, soft onions, and perfectly warmed buns. The only problem is that they hit you like a ton of bricks and stay with you almost as long as a gut full of brick would. Still, they are totally worth it.

I’ve been to Travis probably more than 25 times. It may be a bit run down, but the food is really good. I usually go for their cheeseburgers and fries with their ranch bottle on the side(trust me it’s actually fantastic). Atmosphere wise, I know it isn’t the great but I forgive them because of what they have to deal with(teenagers dining and dashing or drunk people making trouble). Also, make sure to be nice to the waitresses. They’re good, hard working people and commonly get mistreated by customers

Great late night grilled cheese! Fries actually taste great and not like rancid oil. Lots of fun late night people watching. Service is friendly and prompt even during a rush. Many good bites and laughs to be had after the bar. Two enthusiastic thumbs up :) Ps. Greatttttt homemade ranch dressing and you get a whole bottle at your table!

I was sober when I walked in this morning. I got the Super breakfast special at $ 6.10. The Super consists of 3 bacon, ham, and a spicy sausage patty, 2 eggs(I think they were chicken eggs — I forgot to ask), hash browns, and toast. I also ordered a cup of hot tea. Service was fine. Food was fine. Price was good. Cash only. Personal sized restroom, but clean nonetheless.

Outstanding sliders. Hand made burgers cooked like they should be cooked. Very tasty. Local favorite, open 24hrs, I think. Would highly recommend.
