Dinner and a show… We were on a road trip and found this little local place. First the food was hot, fresh and delicious.(I had the shrimp and veggies and my husband had chicken /steak cheese fajitas) However right after we got there we got an unexpected show! Someone in the kitchen got upset, this turned into a rather loud argument. Other staff tried to quiet things down but they would not be deterred. To combat the shouting someone turned on the music. Instead of helping the situation we ate our meal with competing loud Mexican music and an argument. If not for this I would have given it five stars. Keep it professional!

My husband and I were on vacation and traveling on roads less traveled when hunger hit. «Humm» we said, Mexican food in podunk MO? We are used to really good Mexican food being from TX but still willing(and Hungry) to try this place. WOW. No dissapointments here. Food was yummy and the staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. What a nice place to stumble upon.

Excellent Mexican food! I’ve had the steak taco plate 3 times and they are so good that I can’t force myself to try anything else on the menu. If you like Mexican food, you can’t go wrong here!

I’ve been frequenting Tres Toritos for years. My fiancé and I are on a first name basis with the staff, who are very friendly and responsive. The owner is often present and he works hard to ensure things are running smoothly. My fiancé loves the fish tacos, fajita supreme, and chori pollo. I am a huge fan of the cheese enchiladas with the red sauce. Their cheese sauce is to die for as well! Last but certainly not least are the margaritas — a medium is HUGE — which is what we always order — and we highly recommend the«golden» margaritas. They are smooth, delicious and definitely pack a punch!

So the place is a hole in the wall a couple of turns off the interstate. It was church let out time and it filled up as soon as I got to a table. The menu’s seam to be the original ones from when it opened and were all cracked up. The Staff was young and friendly. The menu has about million options but it contains the basic Mexican options, burritos, fajitas, enchiladas… So I go with Chili Verde thinking it would be pork cause it was in the pork section of the menu. I settle back and watch the game and in a few minutes out come the food. It was Beef not Pork. Ok with that said it was REAL good. And a whole lot of it. I would say if you find your self in This section of I-44 I would say to the trip it was great.

We came here for lunch since we were in the area. Chips and Salsa — Good Chori Pollo — I wasn’t a big fan of this since it was a bit too salty and got greasy from the chorizo. Burrito Croqueta — I chose the chicken and I really liked the flavor on this one. Medium Pina Colada Margarita — Wasn’t a fan. I think a small would be enough. Service was nice and friendly.

We love Tres Toritos! We are so lucky to live down the street from such a great place to eat. We have had several different Mexican restaurants come in and out of our town, and I have eaten at the big places in St. Louis like the Hacienda. Tres Toritos is by far better than any of them. As a matter of fact, when we are out and about we won’t even consider having Mexican food because we have the best only a mile from home. Try the Carnitas! Roasted pork smothered with sweet grilled onions. Mmmmmm! The service can vary though. When it is very busy, expect to be patient and enjoy your drinks, but the owner greeting you like an old friend will make you glad you stopped in(even though you had to park on the side street because the parking lot was over full). And don’t let the full parking lot deter you from going in. They have more seats than parking spaces.

Small little restaurant that was PACKED on Friday night. Real loud and we had to park way down the street. They got my order wrong twice — gave me a chicken chimichanga not shrimp and then gave me rice, which I cannot eat, when I finally got the right order. But the food, even the chicken chimi, was SOGOOD! I hate loud, I hate it when I get the wrong order, I hate when all I ask for special is NORICE and I get rice, but I really liked their food and will be back if we are ever in the area again.

Unilocal comes thru for me(US, as I was in a large group). Nice décor, good chips, GREAT salsa for dipping and service for starters. My chicken fajitas were full of flavor, as were the frijoles and arroz. Tasty guac, pico and sour cream with CORN tortillas to boot made for a perfect meal. Nice and stuffed for an excellent price. I’d be back here often, if I were closer…

Simply the best. Great food, good atmosphere; and incredible staff. Always extremely friendly, always fast, always great. This is one of the staples of the community and easily the best place for a bite to eat in town. It can get a little crowded in a busy night and you might have to park on the street, but it’s always worth it. If you’ve got a taste for spicy, ask for their house made hot sauce. They make it there in the restaurant and it is extraordinarily flavorful, and nice and spicy. Goes great on their tender Carnitas, on any of their fantastic chicken dishes; or even mixed into soup! You usually have to ask for it, but it is so good.

Probably the best Mexican food I’ve had on I-44 between St. Louis and Tulsa. Our service was outstanding… very attentive. Mostly locals were eating when we stopped on a Sunday night. The place was full. I got the Bistec Tres Torritos(rib eye and shrimp in red sauce with cheese). I highly recommend it!

I’ve been on the road for more than a week and was ready for some authentic mexican food. It’s difficult to find this quality of Mexican outside of LA but I am in the middle of one of the best Chili Relleno dishes ever. Unbelievable. I wish I took a picture before it tore into it. It was beautiful. We also had a smothered steak burrito and it was also amazing. Both dishes were huge and we both had to ask for togo boxes. I cannot recommend this place enough. An absolute must for anyone who enjoys a spicy dish.

As previously stated, the food is excellent, the staff is great, and its a place I will definitely return. I had the Bistec Tres Toritos with a sopapailla w/ice cream. Very good. My wife had the chimichanga fajitas and she enjoyed it. A very nice evening. This is a family owned and run business. They are great people and serve the best food you will eat in many moons for the price. Highly recommended!

I have pasted this place so many times only to see the parking lot completely full. We had always planned to stop, but over the years never had. Today was finally the day. There isn’t many options in St. Clair to begin with, but on the way home today I stopped in with 3 of my daughters to eat. it was around 2:30, so we missed the crowd. We walked in and was told we could set wherever we wanted. There were 2 nice flat screens with different football games. Nice touch for a Mexican restaurant. Our waitress took our drink orders and gave us the menu. Pretty typical Mexican restaurant menu. I asked for some cheese dip along with our chips. It was quickly brought to the table and had a little extra kick to the typical white cheese. Good stuff! My girls ordered a burrito, and I had a combination platter that included a burrito, taco, enchilada and chili relleno. Although my expectation walking in was to blow me away. It wasn’t the 5 star I was expecting but it was a bit above average for most Mexican restaurants. I will for sure be back.

One of our favorite places. Jose, his son Chris, and the servers Cynthia and Gabriella work very hard to make you feel welcome. We eat there regularly and it’s like going to a friends house for dinner. The food is very good and the Carnita’s are awesome. Although pazole isn’t on the menu Jose makes it for the staff when the weather turn cool and puts some aside for me. The mexican chicken soup is good for what ailes you and perfect on a cold winter night. Stop in and bring your appetite.

we skidded our 16-foot moving truck to a halt(not recommended) when we saw the flashing neon MARGARITA sign. not having grubbed on mexican food for nearly 3 days, we needed our fix. this place has a great, warm vibe and the friendliest waitstaff. my negro modelo was only $ 2.50! free chips and salsa! cheesy poblanos rellenos and rico pork/carnitas burrito with sides of beans, rice & guac! unbeknownst to us, we chatted with the super friendly owners for quite some time(thank you for the discount!). the restaurant is named after their three kids. awwww, isn’t that sweet? now, who wants to name a restaurant after me?
