27⁄100 in 100 review challenge 2016 For the most part I love this hospital. If you happen to have to go to the hospital a lot or be in the hospital a lot this is the one to go to. I have been admitted to the hospital several times within the least year and a half for a stomach ailment and for the most part have had wonderful caring service. As long as you are on the first floor west wing. I have been upstairs on the second floor several times only to request a change. The nurses on the second floor tend to be rude and either overworked or just appear to not want to be there. Trying to get their attention was just not happening. Two hours waiting for an aspirin ring for the nurse is too long for me. The unit on the first floor is much smaller. The nurses here tend to be more caring and understanding. You don’t feel like you are a bother when asking for something as you do on the second floor. Now as for the emergency room, Its been hit or miss for me. Since I had been here several times I got to know a few of the employees which makes it easier. But this past weekend I happened to break my ankle and of course this was the first place I went. I was taken back fairly quickly for an emergency room on a Saturday afternoon at 400pm but I was taken to an overflow room not the true back emergency room with two other people. The nurse who brought me back couldn’t get my first name right each time she said it even after I had corrected her each time. They sent over a nurse practitioner to see me and not a doctor. Each time it was the practitioner never the doctor. Hopefully when I get my bill it will have her rate not the doctors since I NEVER saw one. They did bring the x-ray machine to me which was good because there was no way I able to move. The techs working the x-ray machine were great at their job and very careful to not cause me anymore pain as they could see how much pain I was in. I had to asked three different people, three different times for pain medicine. I finally got some after the person who came back to have me sign the insurance paperwork asked for them. My ankle was broken as I thought. A regular nurse not even the practitioner had to splint it. She did a great job doing it but, she did have to look through a manual to do it which was a little scary to me. I was in and out in about 2 and a half hours which I guess is good for an emergency room, it seemed good to me. I did forget to get a copy of the x rays to take to the doctors office and when I called the x ray department they were as nice as nice could be with providing me with them. All in all this is a nice small hospital that for the most part is doing a great job.

This visit was not what I had expected. The ER is small and the non medical staff wore street clothes and flipflops. They did not have any professionalism but they did speak to us with pet words. The Er nurses we had were great and very empathetic. The Hospitalist was great and very thorough with his assessment and so was the cardiologist. But they are not employees of the hospital. My mother in law was admitted and when she finally was taken to a room(228 bed 2) she had no attention from the nurse(Jennifer) and when we asked for help with her IV(since it was leaking) the nurse disconnected it and said she was going to a test soon and didn’t need it. My mother Inlaw had not drank or eaten since 11pm the day before. She was very thirsty and hungry. Hours passed and no one came to update us on anything, no one came to put her IV back in. A food tray was delivered but we were told she couldn’t eat. We finally got the nurse to come to the room to answer our question about the food, the test and the IV and all she did was look at me and shake her head yes and say«ok» and left. Minutes later the tech came in and we told her what had happened and asked if she could do something about it she said she would try. It was like all the employees were pointing fingers at each other for their Incompetencies. Finally the nurse came back and said GOAHEADEAT. We asked what happened to the test they were going to take her for, she said well I called the nursing supervisor and she said they are leaving for the day so she will not have the test today. After all that, they made her starve for nothing and no one wanted to own up to it. Then shift changes and a new nurse(Dana) came in and didn’t seem to care at all about what we had told her transpired and no one ever addressed her headache. We’re still here so I may post some more disappointments. I guess we will never come here for convenience again. WE’LLSTICKTOTHEBESTFLORIDAHOSPITAL!!!

This is my second time in this hospital as I live in St. Cloud and the service couldn’t be better. I was in and out. Doctor on duty truly took time his time to explain everything and this is where I would recommend others to go as well.

Run away! I will gladly drive past this hospital to Kissimmee to be seen. Inept nursing staff and worse physicians. So sad this awesome little town can’t have a better hospital close by.
