My aunt lives here with her husband. She’s 92. He’s 90. They’re both in pretty good shape. Newlyweds, actually. They only married about 3 years ago. Both are still loving life. They were living in a 5 bedroom home in St. George. Then they decided they wanted to downsize. So they sold their home and moved in here. The Meadows. My aunt is in heaven about the place. She loves the fact that they provide them with individual units, apartments, which are self sufficient homes. The Meadows sends a housekeeper into their home once a week. They no longer have to cook at home for themselves. The Meadows provides them with breakfast, snacks, lunch & dinner in their cheerful little restaurant. They don’t pay for their meals separately. Meals are included in their arrangement. I’d be even happier with this place had they offered more health conscious fare in the dining room. They food was tasty, well presented and seemed nutritious but I’m a big believer in whole grains. We went up to visit them there recently. The Meadows offers free guest parking. Plenty of it. I wasn’t thrilled to notice that the exterior wasn’t quite as spiffy as the interior. Maybe it was just the season. We came up in spring, right after snows had melted. Their home was easy to access & cheerful. We ate with them in the restaurant area which was cheerful as can be. They had all sorts of anecdotes about the fun they’re having with their neighbors. I expected to pay for our lunch but their manager comped it as a courtesy to my aunt & her husband. They’re making use of another thing this place offers, their shuttle service into town and even to Las Vegas. Not a depressing place to live at all. In fact, they’re having fun.
