Tattoo Lou’s of Saint James

Zhang Po a.k.a PoPo is a legendary Tattoo Master! Great artist, multi talented and an even better human being. PoPo drew up an amazing freehand Koi fish which was packed with so much detail and vibrant colors that after 2 years I am still getting compliments everywhere I go.

I got my belly button pierced here a few years ago, as well as a small tattoo on my hip. AWFUL
Piercing– My belly button bled for 6 hours after the piercing, it hurt SO badly, and the guy piercing looked at me and goes «oh wow, I’ve never seen that before». Cleaned it up and asked me to pay. For 2 months, it was super infected, hurt beyond belief, and I had an enormous bruise from the clamp. I have had numerous piercings from other places and have NEVER had a problem.
Tattoo– The tattoo guys were incredibly rude towards myself and 2 other girls getting tattoos. Apparently if you don’t have a sleeve or «hard core» tats, you deserve to be mocked for your «girly design». Not sure why I stayed, but I did, and got my tattoo. I had a heart and two stars, and the heart outline is not clean, it looks like a third grader drew it. The colors are completely faded. I went 2 years ago to have a small ND tattoo on my ankle, and they said «it’s impossible to do». So I drove down Middle Country Rd to another place, they said it was «no problem» and they constantly get disappointed Tattoo Lou’s customers coming to them to do jobs that they are incapable of. My ND tattoo is absolutely beautiful, the lines are perfectly straight, and it did not fill one bit.
Overall in the tattoo and piercing department, I was beyond disappointed. There is no way this place (maybe the other locations are a lot better) should be rated top of Long Island. I’m pretty sure it’s just this location, but I can confidently say I will NEVER go to any Lou’s location after experience the amateur work, and physical pain, received from this place.

Always friendly and have the best artists. PoPo is awesome!
