bought 20 rolls of sod and only 5 rolls were worth keeping, guess I should have unrolled and checked the sod before buying

Great place for all your home and garden needs. Not to mention, they do rescue now! No more puppy mill dogs. Almost everybody goes above and beyond to help. I love alsip!

I seriously want everything in this store! Sooo many adorable home things but prices are definitely higher than most similar stores. Also great animal adoption options and lots of pet supplies!

great selection. The prices are a little higher than average. Most of the plants I’ve gotten from there have since died…(I’m taking the blame for that). It’s a nice place to walk around and see the greenery when you have the time.

Gone is the day of the puppy mills. I have always liked this place for plans and animal supplies. And always did not like all the puppies(don’t know if they came from puppy mills or not). They recently went through a complete overhaul, thanks to the new vet on the premises. They now predominantly if not solely work with rescue animals. Working directly with the humane society in Munster. That is a big KUDOOS from me. My sister just got a year old rescue from there and the process and people were nothing but awesome. They really want to make sure the right pet finds the right home. And that the owners get a pet that they will be happy with. Excellent job on all the new changes. If you haven’t checked this place out in awhile. It is time for a revisit.

This place is amazing – and BIG. =) They have every plant type and interest genre. They have amazing live topiaries outside, and you can buy a million varieties of grown bushes and trees. Or you can get a little succulent or moss for under $ 5 in the indoor greenhouse area. They have a large selection of bird feeders and garden furniture in the section closest to the front door. A mass of beautifully glazed planters line the entire front side of the building. They sell seeds and sprouted veggies, little lemon trees, berry bushes, bonsai, and miniature(beautifully fragranced) gardenia trees. For the person who said it’s overpriced – you get what you pay for. The quality here is top notch. That said, I disagree that prices are high; they’re simply not. I like knowing my plants will live through the season. I utterly love this peaceful, green place. It’s like a botanical garden, but you can take new friends home with you. — xo

Super expensive but they truly do seem to have everything you want for outdoor living under one roof — and their amazing plant selections. I personally buy my plants from Depot and Lowes because they are cheaper than this place, but I have purchase many items from this store from bird food to furniture. Look for sales and you won’t find a better place… great staff.

My dad would refer to this as a place to buy«green shit» meaning plants and flowers he’ll need to unload from my mom’s jeep and dig holes to plant. Oh Dad, how you’re mistaken! There’s much more at Alsip such as home décor, pet supplies galore with seasonal items also in store! Ok, I promise, no more rhyming and exclamation points. The main section houses the seasonal items, pet supplies(I believe they do grooming too) and home décor while two adjoining areas have outdoor needs, plants and other gardening stuff. There’s so much stuff you could kind of spend hours here and not realize it. Some of the seasonal stuff seems a little pricey to me but perhaps I’m just cheap when it comes to that stuff. The variety of pet goods makes up for it so I can’t really complain.
