This DD location needs new management. Every time I order iced coffee they can never make it right. It tastes burnt and watered down. Even if I ask for extra syrup it still not sweet enough. They lack in donut supply. They are always out of my favorite donuts! I recommend to go to DD on broadway in crown point, they have excellent service and product selection.

Ugh. This is the worst I’ve ever had. You’d expect some kind of standard across the board for a chain. I think they pour the cup ½ full, then top it off from the tap. I’ve been here twice and it tastes so watered down. I’m going to have to start going up 41 all the way to 30 and hope the one in Dyer is better. Although I guess as long as I don’t get a bottle of water when I order coffee, it can’t be any worse. Another thing is when you order in the morning, you picture a disgruntled employee that hates his life and everyone that comes in when you hear his voice over the speaker. You can hear more emotion and joy in Ben Stein’s voice compared to this guy. If you’re desperate, stop here. If you need your coffee to wake up, don’t. Hit another DD or stop over at BP on Hart and get your fix.

This is hands down one of the worst DDs I’ve been to. As others mentioned, the issues that I’ve encountered multiple times revolve around bad customer service, running out of product, and getting my order wrong, even when the receipt shows my order was taken down correctly. Like I said, I’ve seen the same type of mistake happen two or more times. This is the definition of a pattern. I gave them too many chances but it’s not worth the aggravation. I know go to the one on Joliet St which although has some low reviews has never failed me.

They have an issue with complex orders. Ex. Light sugar, regular cream. They’ll only hear the first or second part. Mine was exactly backwards from what I ordered. I ordered light cream, extra sugar and then repeated it at the window to make sure it was right and was told yes. I get the cup and its marked cream, light sugar. I pointed it out to the person, they take the cup and bring me back a new one. I drive off and found a block away find its the same coffee in the new cup. I dumped it and went to Starbucks. 3x the money but least my order is right then. The time saved it worth it. It’s not just this DD with that issue, it sseems to be the norm in the south suburbs. Don’t forget folks, they want $ 15/hr.

If you want icecream you might want to call first to see what they have. I’ve been going here for years and they never have peanut butter chocolate or jamoka almond fudge. The last time I went they were out of strawberry, chocolate chip, and peanut butter chocolate. I’ve been to other BR’s and never seen them run out of icecream as much as the St. John BR.
