I really enjoy the home cooked style of dinners they serve. Their products can be slightly inconsistent as not every meal I have purchased has been great. Mostly though I find the staff and food to be very good. I would recommend for their daily specials which have always been high quality. and quite good. The new management has maintained the previous owners quality.

Now under new ownership, the food is very good. Their fried catfish is better than anywhere else I’ve ever tried! The salad bar is GREAT! If they have their Bread Pudding, it’s a «must have».

Decent food at a reasonable price. This place was recommended to us by the people at the pony express museum. It is an older restaurant and in fact most of the client was of the blue-haired variety. But the food was good, the service was quick and the price was decent. We paid $ 30 for a family of four, but with no desserts or drinks. Not bad.

It’s a nice locally owned steakhouse. The inside needs a facelift, but if you can get past that it’s a warm friendly place to eat. If your from St. Joe you love the place, hasn’t changed in 50 years. The staff is knowledgable and friendly, if you go after 5:00 make a reservation because the place is packed.

Frederick Inn is what it is. .. a place to go when you’re craving red meat and fried foods. The steaks are as good as Hoof & Horn’s. .. St. Joe’s more noted steakhouse. The seafood menu is average. .. frozen not fresh. The soup & salad bar features homemade items. .. including the dressings. The bar is actually above average. .. great martinis and other cocktails. Don’t look for fine wines. .. but steak eaters are beer drinkers. The waitstaff is attentive. Prices are about right. .. 42 bucks for dinner for two with drinks. We go to Frederick Inn about twice a year. .. and always look forward to the visit. Try it. .. you’ll enjoy it.

Coming from Chicago, my expectations might have been too high. I will say that the servers were SUPERNICE and our overall dining experience was not flawed– it seems like an older, mom and pop family restaurant and it was clean, organized, and comfortable. Food-wise, however, everything was previously frozen and/or seemingly processed yuckiness. Running approx. $ 20 per person three out of four people at my table had a vegetable or entrée that was indelible due to its mushy, pre-frozen nature. If they had real bacon at their salad bar, switched to fresh veggies for their sides, and handmade their non-steak entrees(or at least the crab stuffed shrimp) I would love to give this place four stars. However, the current way they prep food, I’d rather use my George foreman and make my own Steak & veggies at home. It’d cost less and taste better.

Came for a b-day party and thought this isn’t to bad… The décor is super old fashion, but the food wasn’t bad the spinach salad was awesome. I’d eat here again at some point.

After being told earlier in the day that the amount of cattle outnumber the people, I was hoping for some good steaks. Well, I didn’t get it with this place. The steak was bland and they served it with… A1? However, the staff was extremely friendly, the fried appetizer plate was pretty good, and the salad bar wasn’t too shabby either.

Good steaks! Excellent Salad bar! Soups are homemade and delicious. What makes it a definite 5 star, is the service!

If you miss decore from the 50’s, vegtables and soup served from cans and very average steaks this is your restaurant. If you want a good meal go somewhere else. On the postive side the wait staff is very friendly and attentive.
