I really want to like this place — but the firewood they’re selling in January 2016(I bought 1⁄8th of a cord for $ 40) is completely wet and not at all seasoned. Almost impossible to light, even with firestarter — and then it doesn’t burn so much as it does ‘hiss’, with steam coming out of the ends… perhaps the worst firewood I’ve ever purchased — VERY disapointing!

I’ve been going here since I’ve moved here, almost 2 years. I’ve always raved about it. Recently, the owner has had a bad attitude. I’m happy that she’s doing well, expanding and such. However, stay humble to the people who helped you get where you are. That’s my 2 sense. Otherwise, great produce and selection.

A bit of a ride from Arlington, but worth it for the good price I got on 2 dozen female crabs. They were meaty and sweet. The fish was sold out. Hopefully next time I go back I can get some fish.

Amazing crabs. Got a dozen jumbos. They weren’t as big as some I’ve gotten elsewhere but really tasty and all but one were heavy. Also got a striped bass. Just know they come whole so you need to gut and scale. We will just deep fry it to bypass scaling. Got a variety of produce and sausage. Hope to taste them soon. It’s an hour hike from where I live but makes a nice road trip through scenic countryside. I plan to return at least monthly. Look forward to the fall activities with my toddler.

Best farmers market in the area! Produce is perfect, seafood is always fresh, all local. Prices can’t be beat, sign up for the e-mail alert and daily specials. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Love this place!

Run by probably the most ethical, kind hearted guy I’ve ever known. Great selection and prices. Jen is another story — she’s rude, condescending, and comes across annoyed. I sometimes don’t stop when I see her working because she just makes me uncomfortable. Colton is a hard working guy who always lends a hand.

This place says they have all local stuff when the actually do not. I personally know their supplier and they import everything from Virginia and the Carolinas. On top of everything else, the don’t even cook their crabs and they’re very poor crabs. Their meat is not humanly killed or raised, they’re raised on drugs and hormones to produce more meat. My vote goes to Capt. Smiths seafood in Solomon’s because iv tried tem both and Capt. Smiths came out on top.

I am so very impressed with Chesapeake’s Bounty! After struggling to find somewhere I could really trust in Southern MD for no-kidding organic produce and meats, I decided to give this place a try. And after my experience today, they’ll have a regular customer for as long as I live here. Produce: 2 types. They do organic which is pay-by-the-pound, or they do straight local produce which they sell in multi-sized bushels as mix-and-match. Baskets are $ 4/$ 7/$ 13 right now for small, medium and large containers of fruit and veggies. Fantastic price, and everything looked just great. Meats: Basically they have a massive freezer, and always have at least 80% or so of their offerings in stock at any given time. The wonderful woman behind the counter explained that the animals are humanely treated, never given any kind of hormones or drugs, and are humanely slaughtered. They do some really great sales, and so I walked out of there with frozen meat galore today. Seafood: Haven’t tried it, but their prices looked reasonable, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy fresh fish or crabs from here. Other: Local and organic milk(the chocolate milk is super delicious), free range local eggs, McCutcheons jams and spreads, jerky, breads(the guy they buy it from grows his own wheat and makes the bread from it… come on, that’s awesome!!). It all looks great… The best part about it all? It’s ridiculously affordable! I spent $ 47 for an entire week’s worth of produce and meat, where anywhere else I would have easily spent double. Can’t wait til next weekend to go back!

This place lived up to the great reviews ! Yes it is outta the way, and you have to cook them yourself, but if you are in the area its woth it. I purchased a ½ bushel of Med-Lg. Males, and there were no empties, dead ones, or light weights. Unlike some places, these are local MD crabs.

It’s nice to have a business that only sells local seafood and produce. I personally enjoy the taste of crabs that come from the Chesapeake Bay and the local Maryland rivers. Once you have enjoyed Maryland crab’s it’s impossible to eat any other. That’s what is so nice about Chesapeake’s Bounty. You get exactly what they advertise. When they advertise #1 crabs that’s exactly what you get. They don’t mix in some #2’s and hope you don’t notice. They also have great produce. When in season their sweet white corn is as good as your going to get. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I can’t say enough about this place. I’d give them 6 stars if it was an option.

When you drive by it looks like a road side produce stand and little plant nursery… but it is a diamond in the rough! I have occasionally picked up some produce but this week I did not feel like driving to Chesapeake Beach or Solomons to pick up some fresh local seafood. I gave this place a shot and what a pleasant surprise! If you are a foodie got to try it… I got a few dozen clams and they also carry local raised meat. The girl at the store gave me the spiel about hormone free, humanly raised, personally all I care about is the taste. I decided to pick up a few Delmonico steaks and they also had this black olive loaf bread. We had friends coming in for dinner and everything was a huge hit. The stakes were INCREDIBLE, very tender, well marbled and I would grade them as prime beef. They were nicely trimmed of fat and a nice thicker cut. I paid about $ 13.50 a pound and this is comparable to steaks I have paid over $ 20.00 a pound. I sliced ½ the black olive bread and warmed it in the oven, it disappeared off the table and I had to run back in the kitchen to slice up the other half of the loaf. The bread was a major yummmmmm. Now to the clams, we did theses as a starter. Every one opened and they were sweet. Next trip down to the beach, I am going to stop by. I am going to eat my way through this place. Give it a try, if you love good food like I do you will be delighted.
