Great experience. The stylists take their time and are very friendly. They also give a head/face/back massage and use great product.

The sign says Roosters«Men’s Grooming» i.e. straight-razor, facial etc… Well this location Hadn’t but stylists. Not qualified for men’s grooming. Although generally most locations do, this is where It would have been convenient for me. thus has left a bad opinion of said advertised

First time customer. Went and saw Katrina, she was great and very professional. Great atmosphere, and online appointment booking is very convenient. Will go back.

Just got my hairs cut at ‘Roosters’ and it was a great experience! Shoulder rubs, hot towel, shampoo & conditioner and a cut! I highly recommend TJ — she tackled the challenge of cutting my hair and delivered outstanding results! Best part about Roosters? They now offer straight edge shaving!

Stopped by last minute because I needed to fix the bad haircut I had just received somewhere else and the manager took the time to fit me in last minute. Great experience!

I used to be the $ 10 per haircut guy before I started working in the real world; and then I grew up and realized that you need to spend a little to get something great in return, so I’ve gone the salon route for a number of years. I’ve been a Roosters customer for about 6 months and, seriously, have had nothing but amazing haircuts since I’ve started. The service is great and affordable considering you get 1) a haircut; 2) a shampoo; 3) a neck message; 4) a hot towel on your face, all for $ 30. Oh, and they have sports on TV right in front of you. And free soft drinks. And recliners as chairs. I’d tell you who my stylist is, but she’s bar none the best and I don’t want to start running into scheduling conflicts. Just kidding, it’s Samantha.

I have been going here for a few years since moving from Chicago. This is a great place and the first time in my life I’ve looked forward to haircuts. It’s a wash, little massage, hot towel and very skilled stylists. I have been going to Samantha and she is great! She will cut your hair better than you ask for and steer you away from things that might be inadvisable(«you might not want to go that short there…»). My wife immediately said, «This is the best haircut you’ve ever had.» She’s now said that three times in a row. Worth every penny and more. Was initially referred by a friend and now almost all of the guys in our group go there. For the cost of a burger and a few beers across the street, a bargain in my book. Try it, you’ll like it.

One of the best salons here in Minnesota :) it has an old school salon shop feel to it — comfy sofa chairs and Wooden shelfs and the staff are courteous and the price isn’t too expensive either :)

Okay, here’s the low-down of this place: Not all stylists are created equal nor should anyone expect them to be. The negative reviewers seem to think that 1 stylist is representative of the bunch, so I’ll break it down the best I can. I’ve been getting my hair cut at Raze/Roosters for almost 3 years now and have had several of the women cut my hair. At the end of the appointment I want to be able to look at my cut and be satisfied with how my hair looks, not once have I walked out of there and been disappointed with my cut… I can’t say the same for other hair places where I have spent more or less money(City Looks and Great Clips, respectively). Is $ 30 a little steep? Meh, for a guy, probably. I would feel much better about $ 25 and I would probably get my hair cut more often, I just think, psychologically, that $ 30 for a guy stings a bit. Considering I get my hair cut every 6 – 8 weeks, it means I’m spending more on my hair every year than my girlfriend, not to mention I tip $ 10 each time. But they spend a lot of time making sure that every detail is perfect and that you are 100% satisfied, not to mention there is a guarantee and they urge you to return if something doesn’t look right. Shannon was the first stylist I had at Raze and she and I didn’t hit it off right away. She was quiet and our conversations were a bit awkward… mostly because I’m awkward around new people. I would ramble on and on to avoid just staring at myself in the mirror, but she does a helluva job. I continued to see her as my stylist and over time I think we got comfortable with one another and I realized she is quiet because she is focused on doing a great job. In fact, she does such a good job that women were literally throwing themselves at me, I have bruises to prove it, they would come up to me and run their hands through my hair, my life was an Axe commercial. Samantha is a sweetheart, easy on the eyes, and we hit it off right away. She is a fantastic stylist but I would get my hair cut by her just because she is funny, witty, and can keep a conversation rolling with ease. She does a really great job and takes her time to ensure that it is exactly what you want. Mindy is a strange one, but I’m only saying that because I’ve known her since high school and I hope that she reads this. She does a great job and she is consistent. If you’re the kind of guy that doesn’t want to have a forced conversation with your stylist, schedule with her… she is very quiet. As far as the neck/scalp massage is concerned, they typically will spend 2 – 3 minutes on that part. This isn’t a massage place guys, it’s a haircut place. If you want to spend $ 1/minute, which is what massage places charge, then hit one of those up. These girls are here to cut hair and the massage is a nice bonus. You shouldn’t expect them to skip it because it is part of the experience, but you’re out of your mind if you think it’s going to go on for 5 – 10 minutes. So, does the new name suck? Definitely. Is $ 30 a bit steep? Sure. Is it a massage parlor, no, it’s a haircut joint and they know how to cut man hair. I live in Rochester now and I make the 3 hour round trip SOLELY to get my haircut at this place. It is completely worth it and I look like Don Draper when I walk out the door… at least I feel like I do, and that is what’s really important.

A great haircut A soft drink A scalp massage A neck rub A hot towel on your face while they wash and condition your hair $ 30 + tip There are TVs tuned to ESPN but there are in fact way too high and you can’t really watch them. I highly recommend Andrea.

I’ve become a loyal customer of Raze at the West End location in St. Louis Park. As others have commented, the whole process takes about 45 minutes but is well worth the $ 30(+ gratuity). They offer you a refreshment when you walk in as well as a robe if you so choose. They give you a brief head and shoulder massage, hot towel on your face, and a great haircut. I’ve been seeing Brittaney and she is fantastic. Highly recommend!

I had an excellent haircut at Raze. I’m new to SLP and I saw Raze while driving through West End, and am very glad I made an appointment. The place was beautiful — you get your haircut in a huge leather seat surrounded with TVs(although the other reviewer is right, their positioning doesn’t make much sense), and the chair reclines so you can get your hair washed without having to get up and move. The whole process took about 45 minutes(which was great, definitely got my money’s worth) and went like this: complimentary drink, short back/neck/scalp massage, shampoo, hot towel on face, haircut, second shampoo, dry, style. I have a simple hairstyle, but I take haircuts seriously because I get them infrequently. Raze was great, and at $ 30 I feel like my money was extremely well-spent.

First time here and had a cut with Shannon. I enjoyed the extra touches, especially the robe they give you to replace your shirt so the hairs don’t end up all over. I was pretty vague with what I wanted but she got it just right. I’ll be back :) As someone else mentioned about the other location, the tvs are in the wrong place, impossible to watch during a cut. If the mirrors could be a bit shorter, smaller tvs could be placed over them.
