Chris is the best artist that we could find around St. Louis, doing some incredibly detailed, colorful and truly artistic work. His shop is comfortable, the rest of the staff is both talented and non-​intimidating, and his prices are fair for the quality of work that he creates and executes. Definitely a dude on his way up!

Chris has done by last 3 tattoos, including my very large back piece that we’re currently working on. I give him my ideas and he turns it into a master creation. So talented and creative. Worth every single penny. He is the only tattoo artist I go to in Saint Louis and will continue to make special trips back to STL to see him when I need a tattoo! Highly highly recommend!

Tried to contact the artist to do some touchups on a tat he did 4 months ago even offered to pay for it he never contacted me back im giving 3 stars for artwork but it really sucks that The artist could not be bothered to contact me back. And now I have to find someone to fix it

My roommate and I were just passing through St. Louis but ended up staying the night when a bartender told us to check out Chris at Art Monster. I called him on a Sunday evening and after clearing his schedule, he called me back and told me to meet him at the shop around 8pm. We show up and he’s the only one there, sketching out some cool designs for us. The vibe was super rad, and he made us coffee before he started tattooing. We got chatting and it turns out that he’s the owner and they aren’t open on Sundays. He made the exception for us because he got a «cool vibe from our phone call» (pretty awesome).
I loved what he did on my arm and I even came back the next morning for a 4 hour touch up sesh on an older tattoo. This place is great and I hope I make it back someday so he can finish my touch up piece.

The owner, Chris, is a force of nature. He’s got the cleanest shop IN THE WORLD. Very happy with my new ink.

I can’t say enough about my experience here today…
I just moved back to St Louis and needed a new artist. I’ve been getting tattoed for 16 colorful years and 9 times out of 10 i will look into a shop or artist and walk right back out– i cannot stand tattoo artists that are pretentious or rude, and St Louis seems to be plagued with douchebags in this particular field. Not this guy! From making the appointment till the time i walked out, Chris Sabatino (the owner) was as kind and helpful as could be. He and his shop hit all the right notes– friendly, talented and knowledgeable, clean beautiful shop, the price was just right and i felt comfy and well taken care of from start to finish. Chris impressed me as innovative and passionate about his work and all the supplies he used were 1 time only disposable items– very health conscious.
I’ve had many experiences at many shops around the country, this was one of if not the best, hands down. His wife came to help up front while he tattooed me, and was very friendly too… Unilocalers, i suggest you get to know this shop now, because it won’t be long before this place takes off! St louis needs a shop like this, im glad i found it, and i cant wait to work witg Chris and Rebecca on many future inkings to come.

I ended up at Art Monster because my regular tattoo artist began working there. The shop is nice, very clean and modern. I like all the artwork with the shop’s logo.
As I stated before, I went because my artist, Jeremy Lambert began working there but everyone I met was very friendly. The owner introduced himself and I believe I also met his brother, who I think was the manager. I felt very welcomed.
Obviously I am pleased with the quality of work done as it was my regular artist. I did have a chance to see some pictures of the work done by the owner and his stuff looks pretty great too.
Parking can be a bit of a pain since it’s street parking on Cherokee but it’s worth the fuss to help support our local small businesses, especially in areas like Cherokee where revitalization is such a huge effort.

I give them 1 star because the gentleman who does the art is very talented and seemed like a nice guy and there isn’t a spot for zero stars. His wife, the other owner, needs a lesson in customer service. I wanted a chance to look at some of their items at POINTFEST, and it was pouring down rain. Perfect opportunity right? Before I even have a chance to make my way under their tent, I get snide comments and she starts to pick a fight with me about being under her tent in the rain! She called me a bitch, and apparently I’m «useless». LOL Whatever that means in context. WOW. I have never been treated so shitty by anybody, let alone a small start up company. You would think they’d want to drum up business after only being in business for 3 years. Such a shame… Please, there are many talented artists out there, go take your pick elsewhere.
