Dined with a large group of friends on the patio. Every single person enjoyed their food. Drinks were great. Our servers Kellen and Melissa were awesome! I’ve visited Blondie’s at least 3 times and every single time I’ve gotten great food, service, and drinks.

Chicken Marsala was very good. Sauce could use a little more Marsala but was rich and flavorful.

Usually good food, but I was seated today and no server bothered to come by to even take my order. After 10 minutes, I left.

Love this place! Great food, great staff, great coffee, and great place for lunch or breakfast. I go here often on breaks from work and get great service every time. That’s why I keep coming back.

I’ve eaten at restaurants all over the world and this has to be in top 5 of being the nastiest. How are they still in business? My waiter was nice and tried his best but the food… just awful. I wouldn’t go back if the meal and drinks were on the house!

Tasty food — warm quaint but modern accommodations. Fairly small & easily crowded.

It’s like an up scaled version of Starbucks. Had the BLT and was smaller than I expected but still good. the Blonde Benedict with rosemary hollandaise sauce was so yum! The décor was cool too.

First time here was horrible. There was a party that rented out the patio but then decided to invade the inside so the staff didn’t know what to do and everyone suffered. Second go around was only for drinks during happy hour and the drinks were good and well priced.

Was torn between 3 and 4 stars… but settled on 3 since that rating on Unilocal stands for A-OK(which it is) and 4 stars stands for Yay! — I’m a fan(which I am not that enthusiastic about this place). If I lived or worked nearby, I would probably come here again — even regularly — but since I don’t I would probably not go out of my way to come here. That being said, I was here for breakfast. You have to walk up to the counter to order your food and they bring it to your table. I ordered the breakfast burrito(no onions) with a fruit bowl side. The breakfast burrito was large, freshly made, and I could not eat all of it. It was also pretty good. The fruit bowl was only cantaloupe and honeydew melon and 2 grapes. As I am not a fan of those 2 particular melons, I was disappointed, but they were very fresh. Coffee was Kaldi’s brand and everything that you would expect Kaldi’s coffee to be like. The interior was clean. Service was fast. Side note — the parking meters outside are $ 1.00/hr.

I live on Washington Avenue and come here occasionally. The food is always good and fresh. The breakfast menu is awesome. Overall, it is very good.

Everything was… good. There is something weird though. Everyone who was working and also a patron appeared to be bored or something. I can’t put my finger on it. The brunch was simple and tasty but nothing that I remember… Is that bad?

The atmosphere is cute and cozy. I ordered the pancakes and a café mocha. My drink was fantastic, the pancakes were dense and just ok. I know they have a great Bloody Mary bar so I would like to try that next time. I will still go here for coffee and might give their food another chance.

Went here for breakfast on New Year’s Day. They have healthy as well as the standard American breakfast food like bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy etc. The coffee was perfect, the menu was elaborate and what we ordered was delicious. They have a cozy setting and the interiors are well decorated and stylish. I’d come back here for their breakfast sandwiches again.

I went there on my way in to work this morning and grabbed a mocha and a cranberry scone. The mocha was pretty good; I think they forgot to put the whipped cream on it though. The scone was okay but it tasted a little stale.

I came here for brunch on a Saturday and was underwhelmed. Don’t order the«banana» French toast; I had to ask our waiter if mine actually had bananas in it, and was told that bananas are«in the dough.» So… it was banana bread French toast, which sounds amazing, except there was zero banana flavor whatsoever. My dad had the Blondie Benedict, though, which was amazing. The rosemary hollandaise was truly delicious. My boyfriend got the chorizo flatbread, and was disappointed. My mother tried the gooey butter cake, which she’d never had before(my parents were visiting us in St. Louis, and it’s one of the city’s culinary staples), and was happy with what she got. The coffee was fine, the service was fine, the ambiance was fine… overall, my experience was nothing special. If you find yourself in downtown STL and the more acclaimed breakfast/brunch restaurants are too busy, Blondie’s is an okay alternative(and not expensive, which almost makes up for its menu’s general lack of flavor).

Only been here a couple of times. Food is good, not anything crazy special. But service is good, coffee drinks are good. Hubster and i split a wrap, soup and the pasta salad(pasta salad was my favorite!)

The quintessential coffee and wine bar. This venue is adorably decorated and spacious, and it has the perfect amount of noise/bustle and fabulous treats to choose from. I am a coffee shop snob, and this will absolutely be my go-to in the city.

Best waitresses(shout outs to Rebecca and Tanya) ever! I came here practically every week with my husband. I love the environment of being able to bring my laptop and working on whatever I wanted. We even got hugs, when we told them that we would be moving to San Diego. I still miss this place and trying to find a replacement for it here in SD. I always got the Kaldis iced tea, which is the best black tea I’ve ever had and a bagel or an omelet to eat. Sometimes, if I really needed it I’d grab a coffee or orange juice. Everything here is phenomenal. If you don’t come here for breakfast or brunch when visiting St. Louis, you are missing out!

Pro: My favorite choice in downtown StL for a weekend breakfast. The Chorizo Flatbread is a can’t-miss success, and the Bloody Mary bar is a fun adult way to get your essential vitamins and minerals! Con: The weekend brunch menu is, in my opinion, more robust than the weekday menu, so I limit my visits to Saturdays and Sundays. Bottom Line: a great choice, whether you’re replenishing from an active night or preparing for an ambitious day!

Blondie’s is a really pretty café in downtown St. Louis with excellent coffee and less than excellent food. I had steak and eggs and wasn’t blown away. My steak was relatively tough but the eggs were good. I had French toast too and that was very tasty, fluffy and just the right amount of sweetness. I really wanted to give this place 3.5 stars but Unilocal doesn’t seem to do half stars. I would definitely try Blondies again, I think the other menu items will be better.

I’ll be brief… Great Washington Ave location, adorable décor, cooks more than accommodating, nice menu options and ordering off the menu is acceptable, the sweets looked amazing(especially those ginormous blondies and brownies staring at you at the check out counter. Two thumbs down though: 1. The cashier had –10 personality which makes the initial encounter suck 2. The coffee is pretty mediocre Not sure I’ll be back, but that depends on how desperate I am.

I was in St. Louis for a whirlwind getaway, and happened upon this cute place after leaving the City Museum. I had a refreshing Peach Bellini and the chicken salad lunch. It was reasonably priced, and quite delicious! The waitstaff was super friendly and understanding when I spent my lunch on the phone with my sick boyfriend. My server even said«A phone lunch date! adorable!»

Great place to go for breakfast/brunch downtown. Bloody Mary bar was fun; popovers were really cool and picking a couple of dipping sauces or spreads was fun to try. Had a lovely Eggs Benedict(just be sure to tell them to cook them soft if that’s what you want!). Nice ambience, and when the weather is warm, it must be great fun to sit in their patio section. A beacon of light in what was otherwise an area with rolled up sidewalks!

What a shame! This place has a great atmosphere and a really nice breakfast and lunch menu. The popovers were delicious and the food, overall, was good quality. The«do it yourself» Bloody Mary bar is a great idea. Basically, this could be the perfect urban breakfast and lunch joint. I came in with high hopes. Hopes were still high as they seat us in the specified time and then we waited. And waited. And then waited. Finally, our drink orders were taken and phase 2 of waiting began. Waiting and inattention. The wait staff had about 14 conferences but moved no food. The place was emptying out but our drinks still didn’t make it. 25 minutes after being seated we got drinks. The wrong drinks but, heck, we were parched so we drank them anyway. Then waited again for our order to be taken. Long story short… An hour after we were seated we got our food. And it was the wrong food again. Oh well… If they paid any attention to their customers or what they serve this place would be great.

Solid 3 stars here. I love the feel of the place and the location pretty close to the office. We’ve walked by many times but this was our first time stopping in. The ordering process is a pay first, then go take your number to your table type of setup. We both got a pick two with a sandwich and soup. I got the half shawny pawny and the special soup, broccoli cheese with chicken. I liked the sandwich, it was fairly small for a half, but I wasn’t too hungry, so no big deal. It had a huge chunk of avocado in it that kept sliding around and the sandwich fell apart a few times. Would’ve been nice to have the avocado cut smaller. The broccoli cheese isn’t what I’m used to. it was very watery, and I felt like it was blended before adding the chicken chunks to it. The chicken in broccoli cheese, very weird addition. Every time I got a bite, I felt like I was eating chicken noodle without the noodles. I felt both were good, but not great. The Mrs. had grilled cheese. Hers came out about 5 minutes before mine, which was odd. She got the potato soup which again was just ok. The grilled cheese was a pretty big letdown. The cheese wasn’t melted at all, just sliced cheese, not cold, but just lukewarm. It could’ve been left on the flattop or even a panini press for a little longer, maybe for the 5 minutes they were making mine… We’ll probably give it another try, but there are a lot of better options downtown. I hate to compare them to Bread Co, but I’d give Bread Co a higher review over Blondies for soup and sandwiches. They are about the same price. Service was mediocre, waited awhile for someone to help us in front, then had to walk up to grab the drink we ordered, then was brought the wrong soup(which they corrected before we had to tell them, I actually really appreciate that)… Bonus for having beer/wine/liquor! I wanted it to be better, as my Unilocaler buddies Aimee and Aaron gave them 5 stars. That’s why we’ll give it another shot, because I’m usually right about where they are with reviews. I’ll update the review with our next experience.

Ugh. The only thing keeping this place from a 1-star review was the food, which was actually pretty darn tasty. That and a nice outdoor seating area. Everything else about the experience was pretty mediocre. The place has potential, but needs several major improvements. Service was TERRIBLE. The waitress seemed irritated with my questions about the wine list, ignored our basic requests(like salt and pepper, water refils, etc.), and seemed to rush us out without even offering dessert(which i am pretty sure is what they are known for and what we originally came for, but I guess not tonight since she couldn’t be bothered). I could bore you with all the nitty gritty details, but I was unimpressed from start to finish. Plus, their live music was pretty abysmal. With so many similar, better options in St. Louis, don’t waste your time or money at blondies.

I really wish I could write a better review for Blondie’s. It’s the closest coffee shop to me, it’s clean, has nice décor, and an ok lunch menu. What they lack is service. I ordered a half sandwich with the soup du jour and one of my friends ordered the same half sandwich with a different soup. After my friends received their meals, we waited for mine to arrive… and we kept waiting. After we were sure that someone had forgotten my order I flagged down a waitress and told her I was still waiting for my lunch and she replied«yeah it’s coming, the soup du jour takes longer because they have to make it right then, you know?» and hurried away. What? Does that mean that they cook each soup of the day to order? If it had been worth the wait this would be a different story, but when that small cup of soup finally did come with my ½ sandwich, it tasted like salt. Disappointment upon disappointment!

This is a super disappointing review to have to write. Blondie’s benefits from being on Wash Ave., close to some other cool spots. It’s a very nice and clean space and you can generally see many local business people hanging out there for coffee or lunch meetings. But, I think because they have a pretty nice ecosystem, they’re letting other things suffer. Their service leaves a lot to be desired. Food comes out haphazardly and if you mention anything about it you’re met with a «meh» attitude. I grabbed a sandwich there the other day, asked for no dijon mayo, and they made it with it. I didn’t have time to wait for a remake so I had to scrape it off. That, and it comes on cheap wheat bread you buy at the store. $ 9 sandwiches shouldn’t be made wrong. Or on cheap wheat bread you buy at the store. The worst part is I live and work nearby and desperately would love to love this place, but management clearly isn’t interested in making it good. At least not at this point. If you’re on Wash Ave, go to the Washington Ave Post for coffee — they’re really nice! Or, head down to Pine and get to Mississippi Mud — great coffee! Blondie’s just isn’t worth the time right now.

Don’t know what was up today. Went in, walked up to the counter and was stared down by the young girl at the counter and not greeted at all. I told her, I think I want a brownie a la mode, but I wanted it to go. I picked out a brownie and was about to buy it. I asked her a couple of questions, and she seemed pained to answer them. I asked her to warm it up and put the ice cream on it. She said, that’s a separate thing, and she couldn’t just charge me for the brownie plus a scoop of ice cream, which would’ve been cheaper… Ok??? That wasn’t really the problem, it was more that the girl at the counter could’ve cared less and was not personable at all. I also told her I wanted a brownie a la mode to go when I first walked in, and would’ve appreciated her saying something from the start. I did order a White Chocolate Mocha, which was good.
