We ended up at Café Nova today. First time there. It’s small and beautifully designed. The food was phenomenal. I had a glass of wine, he had a latte. I had the spanakopita, he had the lobster tiropita. The salads were simple fresh Mediterranean concepts and the ‘pitas were awesome. The lemon zest in the lobster tiropita was perfect to balance the flaky dough and the rich lobster. We loved it and will be back.(Super reasonable prices too)

This place has AMAZING food. As others have noted, their oregano fries are pretty darn awesome. You should also try their unique spicy chicken or spicy chicken gyro, which is like hot-wings/Buffalo-wings, and comes with tzatziki sauce(or the sauce is in the gyro). You can’t go wrong with their tiramisu, if you like it traditional and not too-sweet or jello consistency. It is seasoned and perfect. I rarely eat all of a dessert serving, but had no problem finishing off my tiramisu after a meal! I’ve been eating my way around the menu and haven’t found anything that I wouldn’t recommend to others. It’s great for a quiet girl’s night, to take a date to, or for a nice lunch. There’s parking on both sides and in front, so even if you can’t parallel park, it shouldn’t be an issue. Patio dining in nice weather will make you want to linger over another drink or dessert. The inside also has a great atmosphere with part of it couches and low tables for a more leisurely or intimate drinking and dining . Service is always awesome. It’s family run and it feels good to support local businesses!

Food was good. Coffee was awesome. If you just want Mediterranean food there are places that do it as well and for a little less money not terribly far from here but if you want great coffee to go with it, this is your place!

I haven’t felt 5 starfish for awhile but this was an instant 5 star for me. Having gone here because of another Unilocaler and to meet a friend I was looking forward to some good food. Unassuming on the outside, decent setting on the inside, it’s the food for sure that will win you over. I defaulted to some overall favorites, spanakopita, hummus and baklava and I have to say some of the best I’ve had anywhere. It looked great, tasted great and with what was great service from what I assume was the owner, it was complete. As I was the first one to walk in the door around 11:15(well, no one was there anyway) it quickly got busy providing more testimony they have a well earned rating. I can’t imagine being disappointed if you went here.

The first time I went i had a burger and it was awesome. The second time I went i was having a girls night. We had some glasses of wine and I had a gyro and it was just ok. I do have to say the fries are awesome and so it the lady that waited on me the 2 times I have been here. It’s a small family runner place. There are tables and couches if you want to cozy up and hang for a while. I will go back, just will try another dish. I have a friend that comes all the time mainly for breakfast. I hear the breakfast burrito is awesome.

My regular order is the house hot wings, and the classic gyro. I’ve had that same order 3 times, and every time it’s been perfect. Great food and better service. I’ll be eating here for a long time

A friend introduced me to this quaint little café by his house. They focus on mediteranean dishes but you can get burgers and wings here as well. I tried the spicey chicken gyro. It combines buffalo chicken with a traditional gyro and it is freaking awesome. The buffalo sauce and tzaziki are a perfect match… and the gyro is huge. Plus it’s served with some killer seasoned fries. The wife got a burger and it too was really good. Both were under $ 8 each. Service was friendly, and it’s clear this a family run spot. Good food + great value + great service + good ambiance = 5 stars for me.

My wife and I moved to the area a few months back and are always trying something new every night we go out. We went here and eat here about every other time. It’s my favorite place yet in south Saint Louis. The grilled chicken plate followed with a red wine is perfect or their wings with beer is to die for. Also have good dessert menu and excellent coffee! Can’t get enough.

I wandered upon this place while looking for a coffee shop. Not only do they have espresso, but they also have delicious Mediterranean fare and alcohol! I tries the hummus plate and the espresso– both were quite good. I will definitely be coming back sometime soon!

Café Nova is a great neighborhood place. It’s reasonably priced and the food is delicious. The gyro meat is hand carved and spiced right, the French fries are always crispy, and the service is fast and friendly. I have eaten there and gotten to go orders. I have tried almost everything on the menu and it is all good. You should go out and support this local business!

This restaurant is an absolute hidden gem! The best Mediterranean food around town by far. If you like Fresh vegetables, excellent gyros meat, and a relaxing environment this place will exceed your expectation! The staff is friendly and filled with smiles. You will recommend this place to all your friends as did I! Enjoy!

We have been here before and I would say the other 2 visits were a 4 or 5. Unfortunately this experience wasn’t as good but it was mainly due to the inside temperature. It was a very hot day today so we were looking forward to staying cool dining indoors but it was uncomfortably warm inside. Basically this prevented us from having a relaxing meal. On the positive side the falafel appetizer is 5 star. The hummus is average. The Italian burger had lots of flavor but was not a favorite of mine. We will most likely be back again but not on a hot day.

My hubby and I moved in just across the street from here recently, and we LOVE it! We actually came in once for dinner before moving and have loved every dish we’ve had. The menu is a delicious blend of Mediterranean and American flavors. Greek gyros, Italian burgers and paninis, and amazing oregano-seasoned fries with homemade ketchup! Prices are very reasonable, and service is friendly. Possibly the best gyros I’ve ever had, and the tiramisu is amazing too!

Café Nova was a place I thought just had coffee. I’d never been in before, until my friend moved across the street. I had the food for the first time about 2 months ago and this place has the most friendly staff, best coffee, best mad tomatoe, best Greek salad, best frappé, best burger, everything here is touched with love and it shows ! Try the best tiramisu I’ve ever had in my life! Not too sweet & very rich and custard like… just :-* perfect!

I really enjoyed my visit here last weekend. It seems like a great local place. Our server was very attentive and friendly; she came by just the right amount — never let our waters get empty but didn’t smother us. I ordered the smoked salmon panini and I really enjoyed it! It had capers and some kind of lemon-y sauce and small apple slices in it. I never would have thought to put salmon and apple together, but it was delicious! My sandwich came with oregano fries which were perfectly crispy. I was only inside for a minute, but the décor looks very modern and clean. My friends and I sat on the patio outside. It was wonderful to have that chance to enjoy the spring weather. I would definitely return again and I will probably have the falafel, which one of my friends ordered and thought was very tasty!

Yay! A great little Mediterranean place I can walk to. I love a great new discovery and this was for sure a good one. We ordered veggie samosas to start, followed by Greek salad with gyro meat for me and a Nora gyro sandwich for the hubs. My 4 year old got chicken strips with the seasoned fries– which are really delicious! I’m happy to report the chicken was great and the portion for the price — really awesome! Hubs liked his sandwich and my salad was just right — with almost too much meat on top. My son had a bit of a meltdown so we had to get the food to go, but we hope to go again soon. Oh, and the Turkish coffee we had while waiting on the food was quite good. My only issue was the food did take quite a while but given that it was quite tasty I would live with that again. Next time we are going to have to try the tiramisu… The pan was visible in a cooling case and looked delish.

Great atmosphere, good eats. Joined some girlfriends here on a lazy Sunday late lunch and it was great. The service was friendly and attentive, prices are reasonable, and the food is good(not great, but good). I had a burger and fries and a latte. The coffee was spectacular – and at $ 2.50 I should frequent this place instead of Starbucks(if they had a drive thru it’d be a no-brainer). The burger was good, a ton of beef, lots of sauce so it was deliciously messy. The fries were seasoned with oregano which was okay but I would’ve preferred them without(or at least have had the option…). The atmosphere was the best part – large, comfy couches and a welcoming staff. We will definitely be back!

A good cheap americanized mediterranean place in south city? They do have a full bar! Pretty good food and much better(seasoned) fries than any of the competition. No fountain so the soft drinks are bottled. It is sit down service so you will have to tip your server unlike at the gyro company or gyro grill. It isn’t as greek or fancy as apollonia. The baklava was really good. Non-traditional with candied lemon shavings? All I know is that the lemon-honey flavor was delicious. Very friendly service! Yum… now that I think about it, the baklava will probably get me back the fastest.
