This place probably deserves one star, but since it wasn’t really an awful experience in a specific way it gets two stars. First off, and not really a big knock on the place, but it looks kind of run down. I’ve eaten at some real hole in the wall joints so I let it slide, Didn’t hurt the place but something I noticed. The guy behind the counter wasn’t rude but said maybe 2 words. Ok. The food came out fairly quickly, and while not the worst Chinese food I’ve eaten, it was definitely not good. Both my coworker and I noticed the extreme saltiness of the food. It’s like they reduced soy sauce to a gravy added a few table spoons of salt, and coated every piece of food in said sauce. The chicken was also cooked a little to long. I will try any other place over this restaurant.

I have been coming here for around 15 years from before the fire and after. Everything I’ve had is fantastic, chicken & broccoli, shrimp with mixed vegetables, and the fried rice are my usuals. The owner is very friendly I cannot believe the negative reviews. There are many regulars and he always remembers people’s orders and smiles but is not overly talkative. The prices are low, the drive up window is very convenient. & the dining room has never been noticeably unclean in the 15+ years I have been coming, I think the constant crowd eating in will attest to that.

Fast & fresh with great service. Favorites include Hunan Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, and Broccoli & Mushrooms, but don’t quite recommend the appetizers.

For what it is(cheap, fast American Chinese food) this place is pretty standard. Service was quick, and it’s close to my work(SSM). My favorite is still joy luck or Wongs wok, but this place is good too.

This is the best Chinese food in St. Louis now that Hunan Peking has gone downhill. Ignore the bad reviews because they’re bogus. The chicken and broccoli is my go to, but the hot braised pork and sesame chicken is also good. Enjoy!

I’m only rating this what I am because I do find their food to be consistently good. However, the hospitality of the owner at the register is non existant EVERY time you go there. He never smiles, acts like you are bothering him to call in a carry out order and he holds on to condiments like they are worth gold or something. I will occasionally ask for 2 – 3 more soy sauce packets and he gets an attitude. I’m sorry, but ONE soy sauce packet isn’t going to cover my WHOLE order of fried rice, sir! Ha I will agree, they close down with no message on the phone or door at random times. And if you call and they are closing early and they are still there, they pick up the phone and hang up… nothing said. Seriously? How about you just invest in a $ 10 answering machine? I have never had a problem with cold food or a wrong order. The flavor overall for most of the dishes I’ve tried is really good. Good: garlic chicken(is amazing), beef with broccoli, lo mein, special fried rice, sweet and sour chicken isn’t bad, and decent egg rolls. Bad: Hot and Sour soup… nasty! Crab Rangoon is flavorless, Hunan beef. supposed to be spicy… is not and usually is like beef w broccoli(and their beef w broccoli is delish) but is a whole different recipe. Blech

Just tried this place in spite of the mixed reviews and had a good experience. You do want to pick your order up quickly if you call ahead since they are fast. I ordered the hot braised chicken wings which were very good. The accompanying crab rangoon had more than the average amount of crab mixture, the fried rice was average but good, and the hot and sour soup was OK. This is now my goto place for hot braised chicken wings.

I hadn’t been here in years and was looking forward to trying it again. Ordered before I left work at 4 and picked up 15 mins later. The crab Rangoon was already cold and flavorless. Wonton soup for one had two wontons and no flavor. But the worst was the sesame chicken which was tough and covered in a sauce which was way too sweet and had weird other noodles in it. It was so tough to eat that I thru it out. The rice was already dried out. Basically felt like I received the lunch leftovers and paid way too much. Should have gone out of my way and gotten Panda Pavillion.

Surprised to see not so good reviews of this place. It’s hard to find decent Chinese food(lots of Thai, not so much Chinese) around St. Louis city that’s reasonably priced and this is the place for me. I don’t come here often, but when I do I’m never disappointed. It’s no frills, quick, they’re polite without being your best friend(and why should they be?) and it always appears busy with people calling in orders, waiting, or even eating in on occasion. I’ve had a couple of different dishes — the cashew chicken and the Hunan chicken. Both were good — I may like the Hunan chicken a tad more.

Chicken and broccoli comes in a very flavorful sauce and the crab ran goons are very tasty.

Food is just okay, guy at counter always a jerk. Plus I left my phone up there and they stole it. Had it not of been for an iPhone app they would of kept it.

Love the place. I often get the Buddhas delight full-order spicy. The people who work there are nice and my order always comes quickly. I highly recommend the Buddha’s delight !

I can’t believe people actually say good things about their food… I had the braised pork combo and my friend had the beef and broccoli combo. Hot and sour soup for the both of us. First off the hot and sour soup was grayish colored… That’s warning sign enough. Took a sip, and I didn’t taste anything. Maybe that was a mistake. Took another one and still nothing… Okay taste buds must not be working… Too a bite of the fried rice… Tasted nothing… Ate a piece of «braised» pork. Okay this taste like sweet and sour pork. I guess braised means something else to Chinese take-out restaurants… But this meant my taste buds were still working kinda I guess… My friend starts a little after me, and thought the hot and sour soup was total crap and threw it out after 1 sip. Then complained about the rice too… Thank God I have some confirmation! Broccoli was actually quite good though, cooked to perfection and the sauce added some flavor to the rice, oh that and a lot of soy sauce. I love soy sauce but fried rice shouldn’t need it. And pork was overcooked too. So yes Chinese take-out fail. This place is borderline gross, SOLELY based on the food.

Escaping from a conference just down the road– I was in search of food as the blood sugar levels were dropping rapidly. I Unilocaled this place, winced at the idea of relativity and went for it… Glad I did– I got the chicken lo mein, which was surprisingly good– tender chicken, a good number of veggies and sturdy noodles. If I am at another conference with low blood sugar levels and the hunger about to devour my own self… I’d definitely hit this spot up again…
