Lately I’ve found it very unwelcoming. A couple years ago it was a little better but my latest visit will be my last. There are lots of better places to go in STL for great dive bar karaōke. Disappointing experience — and the bar owner was the biggest problem there. Unfortunate.

This place is a BLAST! Yes, it’s a bit smoky, but it’s a local watering hole with character, VERY nice and encouraging folks, and CHEAP drinks. Just be sure to bring cash because they don’t take cards. The karaōke system is actually quite advanced — it’s all done electronically, so no paper slips and binders full of tunes to sort through. The owner is very friendly and a great singer. Big fan of this place. Found the clientele to be very open and accepting.

Not to be confused with the Double D’s in Brentwood, this is a small family owned bar on Hampton near Eichelberger. Nice people, VERY smokey. They have self service karaōke on Friday nights, a machine that anyone with half a brain can manipulate to «sneak» extra«turns» — and people do. So, don’t waste your Friday night unless you’re prepared to listen to the same three people sing all night long.
