Very casual dining experience bordering on fast food, but the food is definitely not at the level of fast food. We had salads, fried ravioli and pizza — all were very good. The salads especially so, very fresh, hand tossed with quality ingredients. Pizza is thin crispy crust served St Louis style. Would definitely recommend this to anybody looking for a quick and easy high quality meal. Not five stars due to self service.

Delicious! Fast service, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend the toasted ravs, Italian salad and pizza.

No to bad but customer service by the old lady behind the counter sucks! Also charged for heating the sandwich, onions, lettuce and tomato. A little to nickel and dining you to death. However my kid loved her butter noodles and chicken even if it was $ 9 bucks.

Ordered chicken parm sandwich. It used to be a thick good piece of chicken. Now it’s just a very thin(like, McDonald’s hamburger thin), processed patty that I could get from Sams. Marinara was good. Salad was good. Garlic bread the chicken was served on was good. But the chicken was extremely thin and disappointing.

I got out of my large chef salad, no croutons, extra olives situation. Lunch with my girlfriend October 28. She got a roast beef sandwich that comes with a «small» salad. I got chili mac, which comes with a «small» salad and bread. The salad woman heard me proclaiming the olives, so she gave me a big whollop of extra olives on my salad. I was in Heaven. It was a meal unto itself. The chili mac — I had a choice of child size, lunch size or dinner size. I figured what’s the diff(a couple bucks?) So, I got the dinner size. This was massive. First of all, it wasn’t mac. It was either linguine or fettuccini. Delightfully flavorful sauce full of meat, well-balanced and well-seasoned — but pasta that I don’t eat well in public. So, I focused on the salad, which was(and always will be) sumptuous and luxurious. I had a few bites of the chili mac. Took most of it home, along with some of the salad. For my ~$ 10, I got five meals.

Another lunch with my sister and I have to raise my star opinion about Grassi’s. It is a cafeteria style deli restaurant. The tables are quickly bussed so you can easily find a place to sit if it’s crowded. Of course, my sister got the salad and garlic cheese bread. I chose the chili mac. The chili mac was good(a lot of pepper went into it) and the side salad was good also. Would I come back here? If my sister wants to.

Roast beef sandwich on garlic cheese bread(«house special») with a side salad, no olives. You will feel like you died & went to heaven. My mom also thinks the lasagna is one of the best she’s ever had — never tried it, but my mom’s a hard critic! Super casual — dine in or carry out. Cafeteria style the way you order, get your own drinks/refills. The people who work there are super friendly but want you to decide and move on down the line. Hard to find, but once you try Grassis you will always want to go back!

I’m a fan and have eaten here multiple times at both lunch and dinner. The food is always pretty darn good, very quick and very reasonably priced for what you get. I’ve had pizza, salad, the roast beef sandwich, lasagna, chicken parma sandwich, eggplant Parma and the chili mac(least favorite). I don’t like olives so if you get the salad ask for no-olives. They already have the salad made up so it isn’t a problem. My dad had the spaghetti and meatball(his go-to order anywhere he goes) and said it was great.

I ate at Grassi’s for lunch yesterday. I’ve been going here forever. The woman at the cash register was there when I was in high school. I ordered a large salad and it was great as always. Not too many green olives which is good because they aren’t my favorite. My lunch date had a chicken parm sandwich that looked great and toasted ravioli(I ate a few of them!) Great spot if you’re in the neighborhood for lunch.

We saw the sign and stopped in after shopping at Frontenac. Definitely a hidden gym. Great Italian with cafeteria style service in a cute setting. Will definitely be back.

Great food, we really enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and décor. The service was very good as well. Fine place for family lunch on the weekend. We will have to try during the week with coworkers.

I had the meatball sub and the chicken parm sub, both on the toasted garlic cheese bread. I thought they were the best Italian sandwiches in St. Louis. I have also been craving the salad ever since. The staff was friendly and organized. This is my favourite place to eat in St. Louis so far.

When you are starving and not really sure what you want to eat — go with Grassi’s! I’ve never actually eaten in the restaurant, but I’ve had the takeout several times, and it’s always delicious. The salad, the pizza, the pasta… all yum. And there’s a lot of it, so plenty to share!

Have been here a few times and the food is really good. Love the salad! Cheese garlic bread is excellent and made fresh when you order it. Have not had pasta, but it looks really good. My ONLY complaint is this. We were there today for a late lunch and watched the blonde woman who was working behind the counter, go out and stand at the back door and smoke a cigarette(to each his own) and come in and get right back to work without ever washing her hands and there are NOGLOVESWORN. Don’t know about you, but I find this disgusting. I wanted to say something to either her or the manager but didn’t want to make a scene. This is disturbing to me and I hope it was an overlook on her part.

On the way home from Daytona bike Week to KC we got off the hwy for gas and asked the attended for a place to eat lunch. The pointed us down the street to Grassi’s. Out of the way for sure, I thought they must have made a mistake, but how can you screw up «Left at the light and go one block». The owner greeted us as we walked in and things got better from there. the handmade salad was great along with the sandwiches we had on top of fresh brewed ice tea. What a great find. You need to try this place!

Had my first lunch last week, after being infected by Ben’s enthusiasm. And, I have my next one scheduled for this coming week. Great lunch spot! As per Ben’s guidance, I went with the Chicken Parm sandwich. I think Grassi’s gives it a name, as a specialty sandwich … something like Becky Deb Special. As such, and as noted by Ben, it’s served on garlic cheese bread. While the presentation appears simple and unrefined … and it is both … the taste is excellent! There was good balance by all of the elements, but not an egregiously overblown mess. Even the quantity was ‘just right’ — Goldee Locks must be back there coaching the cooks. Nestled behind professional offices south of Chaminade. The food line is simple, too, as are the furnishings. But, it was comfortable and clean. In the dining room were guys in white shirts and ties, as well as people dressed more casually. Blue collar, white collar. Regulars and newbies. We all dined together. Did I mention, it was a comfortable setting? The team serving and preparing the food along the cafeteria-styled selection were working to be entertaining and engaging. The effort was appreciated, if not polished. Like I said, I’ll be back.

I really, really liked my chicken parm sandwich that I had here. The wife recommended the place since we were taking kid 2 out to lunch and needed somewhere near her school. This is a place that you have to really mean to find — no driving by on a main thoroughfare and stumbling upon this gem — it is well hidden! The chicken parm sandwich was amazing. The chicken was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Beautifully seasoned and topped with just the right amount of marinara sauce for me. If it’s not enough for you… no worries because they put some on the plate as well. Cheesy garlic bread instead of a plain roll really takes this sandwich to a new level. Add a side salad that is made in small batches right in front of the customers and this place is really a find! Stand in line, place your order, wait a few minutes… enjoy!

I would have gone with 3 ½ stars for this one, but bumped them up on the premise that my coworker’s sandwich tasted as delicious as it looked. Cute little place with friendly people, good service, and simple Italian food. The salad reminded me of Chris Farley’s fat man in a little coat skit from SNL — it was a big salad in a little bowl. Add my request for extra olives and it makes for a giant, tasty salad with really, really good croutons. I had the shells with meat sauce. Pasta was overcooked for my liking, but the sauce(gravy) was yummy and flavorful. Too stuffed to even think about trying the bread, but it looked and smelled good. My coworker recommended the roast beef sandwich; really should have taken the recommendation because I spent most of my meal in a state of sandwich-envy. There’s always next time… I had a giant salad, hunk of bread, more pasta than I could eat and was out the door for less than $ 10. Not too shabby!
