Bottom Line — This is a passionate love letter to a pizza that I’m sure not everyone loves or even likes. Come on. Imo’s IS St. Louis pizza! — and a extra large bacon and onion, or deluxe pizza from Imo’s is my trip though the woods to Grandma’s house. The crust is unbelievably thin and crispy(thanks to the holes they roll into the crust) the sausage has a great fennel flavor, the sauce has a great tang, and is it me, but It seems as though Provel«cheese» sticks to my teeth less than it used to? — this may just be a thai-hot induced loss of enamel. It should be said that there are more consistent and maybe even better versions of this style of pizza available in St. Louis… the Pasta House cones to mind as being one. But at least one evening whenever I’m in town Los Sorrentinos will be ordeing it up from Imo’s, cracking open a whole bunch of Augie’s finest barley pops, and take turns asking each other what high school we went to… good times… good times.

Interesting pizza. St Louis definitely has its own pizza style. Very thin crust and the provel cheese definitely gives it a very distinct taste. Garlic cheese bread wasn’t bad either. I’d definitely try this place again.

Maybe my taste buds grew up. Maybe Imo’s changed their recipie. Maybe I’m just more exposed to better pizza now. Either way, Imo’s just doesn’t cut it any more. There’s one right by my house. I used to eat the food here weekly. But now, to me, it’s below average. I do like the value of their lunch combo. $ 7 gets you a pizza, or pasta, or sandwich a salad and a drink. I had a pepperoni pizza today. There really isn’t any substance to the pizza. The ingredients are sparce, the cheese isn’t a creamy as it used to be. The sauce is still good… tangy and robust. But overall, the pizza wasn’t fulfilling at all for me. A better pizza alternative nearby would be A’mis down the road.
