This place was nice around 10 years ago. What happened? Most of the good people moved out of the neighborhood and now the scum of the earth dwell inside Jack in the Crack. Free cock roaches with the purchase of a Jumbo Jack.

Food is usually pretty good and the people are nice, but on multiple occasions, they have failed to be staffed properly to support customers needs. Several times I’ve tried to dine-in during normal business hours and the doors were locked with the staff ignoring customers waiting outside, only to then have the drive thru shut down as well. This wasn’t because of an error or emergency, but rather the fact that only one person was running the entire restaurant. If you’re looking for a decent tasting Jack N The box, this one is worth a shot. However, don’t get your hopes up for fast service or even the ability to eat at all.

Stopped at this Jack in the Box about 9:30 this evening to grab some tacos for a late dinner. They were completely inedible. Literally dripping with grease. The fries were the same… cold and saturated with grease. And then the girl that handed my food out the window… while she seemed like a nice enough person to me, she was turned to her coworkers the whole time and even dropped the f — bomb a few times while telling her coworkers a very colorful story. This whole experience turned me off so much I may never visit another Jack in the Box again. They seem to be going downhill, as are most fast food joints.

Back in college, Jack in the Box was a «go to» kinda place. I mean, what college student wouldn’t love a place that offers a burger at any time of the day? Late night study sessions needed a Jumbo Jack to keep the torches burning. Who could pass up a line 14 cars deep at 4am after a night of partying with friends? Yes. Jack in the Box was a way of life back then. At some point, my body started rejecting the food. I would get incredibly sick on this food, and thus the last few years I couldn’t even get myself to drive thru even for a basic burger. …and then it happened. I was starving. The other restaurants close to work were tired and boring, I was craving something new. Something in the back of my head said«sourdough jack,» and the next thing I knew I was in the drive thru, ordering my sourdough jack combo and dreading the fallout, but mouth watering at the memory of my favorite sandwich. The Lusher Rd Jack in the Box did NOT disappoint. My Sourdough Jack was perfect. The fries seem to have been changed, but for the better. I had forgotten the difference between a Jack in the Box«Large» soda and the competition. My GOD did that huge cup of root beer taste fantastic?! I’m not sure how many times I have been back in the last few weeks, but I’m sure I would be embarrassed to count them.(I stopped checking in every time because I started to feel self conscious about it!) The fact is that I haven’t even ventured from the Sourdough Jack but on one occasion, where I binged on the 2⁄99 cent tacos for a day. Bottom line is that 10 years after college, I have regained my love for Jack in the Box. Our romance has been re-ignited. Eating fast food has become exciting again. My wife may be a bit jealous, as I haven’t asked her to make me a burger in quite a while!
