I love this place and the people that work here and come here. I became a member about a year and a few months ago, and it was one of the best creative decisions I have ever made in my life. I have always struggled with getting«stuck» creatively, making design decisions, and perfectionism. Having a very welcoming and helpful group of experts around to help with ANY snafu/struggle is so amazing. With the collaborative approach, I have gotten ideas and solutions to problems I never would have thought of and opinions about my work as it is being made, not after, like you would get at an art show or vending opportunity. I come to the community workshop every other Saturday and the following Wednesday which is FREE for me as a member. That means I get to attend 48FREE community workshops a year! Becoming a member is the best investment by far in my business and social life supporting my artistic pursuits, where I meet others who share my creative re-use values. Founder Jenny Murphy is actually there most of the community workshops which is like getting free expert advice every time. This is a huge benefit not to be overlooked! Jenny was a Sculpture major at Washington Univeristy in St. Louis and has a solution for every problem one encounters in making something. I have yet to see her stumped. Becoming a member is ONLY $ 55 a year, which pays for itself in one visit, as the community workshop is a suggested donation of $ 10/hour. If you stayed all 5 hours, that would be a suggested donation of $ 50. Don’t do that. Join and have fun the whole year round with us! Community workshop dates are posted on the«events» section of to make sure you get the right days and times as it rotates Saturdays. Hope to see you soon!

Last night Arch Women Riding Group and Trailnet hosted an event at Perennial. I had never heard of the place before last night. This is a not for profit business, that works with women who were previously incarnated to teach them job skills. All of there projects are from recycled material and what other people call junk. They host classes to teach upholstery, how to make pallet future and other cool stuff. We were instructed on how to make a bicycle bag to hold our stuff while we ride. The class took about an hour and it was very personal and contagious. They have a website and you can become a member and get their email blast. Cool place, check it out for a girls night out. They do offer ton of parking across the street in a very safe parking lot.

i wish this place wasn’t so far away from where I lived. I would definitely spend a lot of time here if it were closer! The space is super cute with a lot of things everywhere. My craft-loving heart swelled with appreciation of this space. One wall had books about making things. Another had a giant shelf type thing where a few instructions sat on top for some fun upcycling craft. There were shelves with tools and lots and lots of ‘junk’. i love upcycle worthy junk! I don’t have the means to come down here all the time, but I really hope when I do I can take advantage of all the workshops, classes, and resources to make really awesome things!

Awesome shop keeper, Jenny, who hosts creative DIY workshops that the public can attend. A great place to bring that project you’ve been wanting to work on forever; if you don’t want to buy a bunch of tools, or don’t have access to them, you can attend an «open to the public» day where you bring the project you want to work on and make a small donation to be able to use the materials/tools. Lots of workshops at various locations around town, small items for sale in their shop that make great gifts for the urbanite in your circle. Check it out!

Perennial is a great local, woman-owned business. They have cool workshops; I made my own cornhole set, as well as a series of classes and workshops help on S. Broadway and across the STL area. They are all about reusing materials or using found materials in creating furniture or everyday items.
