I had a negative experience at the Quest Lab on Kennerly Rd in St. Louis today. I was told by my daughter’s pediatrician to collect a urine sample to test for a UTI and refrigerate it until I could drop it off at a Quest lab within 24 hrs, so I did, and I took it to the Quest lab in the morning, 17 hrs later. So, I went to the lab this morning and the lady at Quest(I believe her name was Amy or Anne), told me it was too late & she couldn’t accept it even though my dr and my paperwork said he had 24 hrs as long as it was refrigerated, which it was, and it had been only 17 hrs. She even asked her«supervisor» who said the same thing. So, feeling annoyed I asked for the sample back so I could take it to the dr’s office, which is a half hr away, and she reluctantly gave it back to me. So I quickly went to leave with it and as I’m walking out, she yells in a passive aggressive way, «Merry Christmas!» I didn’t respond, but afterwards, I thought that was a really passive aggressive thing to say to someone who’s obviously frustrated and it didn’t sound sincere at all! It felt like she was saying«have a nice day» after annoying me and not because she truly wanted me to have a Merry Christmas. So, I drove a half hour to the dr’s office and turned in the urine sample and they apologized for the inconvenience and told me that they had called Quest and confirmed that it was fine to use that sample & couldn’t understand why the lab refused it. They said that Quest apologized to them, but I feel like I’m the one owed the apology since I drove an hour out of my way to drop off a sample that they should have accepted all along. And I feel like the employee who didn’t do her job properly, and spoke to me in a patronizing and passive aggressive manner, while using the birth of Jesus Christ as a means to try & make it all better, should personal apologize to me as well. I know I won’t step foot in that lab again until I know that they realize the error of their«procedures.»
