Clean, great atmosphere, wait staff was very polite and helpful. Food was good. Unique menu of specialty drinks and crepes. Also a few more traditional breakfast items.

One of our favorites for brunch! As a vegetarian I have a hard time finding veggie b&Gs. They got um and they are amazing! It’s been some time since I’ve ordered a crêpe but they are solid as well. If you come on the weekends expect to wait, but it’s worth it! You can grab a drink at the coffee bar and just enjoy the atmosphere. The only negative I’ve experience I’ve had is hit or miss service. It’s generally pretty slow, but the staff is always friendly!

Very quick service. Boozy milkshakes are great. I had the braised brisket with mashed potatoes and it was great. Would definitely eat here again.

Did not live up to all the hype. If you go during peak hours be sure to use the No Wait app to get in line. They do not take reservations. Glad we used the app, otherwise the wait would not have been worth it. Luckily we got our own table. There are also community tables and if you’re like me, you wouldn’t be a fan of this seating arrangement. I had the Brunch Burger. The portion size was great, however the biscuits were a little dry. Also, not a fan of the«homemade» ketchup and I would have preferred a choice between that and some traditional Heinz. Water was served in mason jars — no ice so the water was not very cold. I’m sure I could have requested ice for my water, but i ordered a soft drink, so I wasn’t worried about. Service was slow — breakfast food doesn’t take that long to make. Good for vegans and vegetarians as they are very accommodating in those regards. Waiter was great and very friendly. The hostesses were not. I hope to try the downtown location to see if I have a better experience.

I don’t love breakfast food, but I’m a vegetarian who doesn’t like eggs or French toast. This leaves me with the thrilling breakfast options of yogurt(sans gelatin, so I don’t order it when out), regular toast, cereal(only with soy or another non dairy milk), hash browns, grits, pancakes, and pastries. I don’t care for waffles and I only moderately like most of the things I just listed. My ideal breakfast? Cold pizza. I’m a brunch gal because I can get lunch food at 10 a.m. So I wasn’t thrilled about Rooster until I found out they have vegan egg substitutes for scrambled eggs, crepes, etc. The menu was really intriguing. It’s a little pricey but I don’t know of another place in St. Louis that offers so many vegan options, so I can deal with the prices. First tried to go to Rooster last month on a rainy weekend morning. Line was out the door. In the rain. I called to get out names on the waiting list since they don’t take reservations. They also don’t put names on the waiting list over the phone. I could download the No Wait app or they would do it in person. However, as my smartphone of last month had no space for another app, it was raining, and the line was already out the door and who knows how many people would get ahead of me before I made it from the parking lot way in the back to the hostess stand, I just left hangry and headed to Feasting Fox, where there was no wait but yummy food. Got a new phone, got the app, and headed to Rooster again a couple of weeks ago. There was still a wait of a few minutes, so I think it’s kind of a dumb name for an app — you have to check in in person when you get there and then I reckon you make it to the real line. It was really loud. This is not where to go to get an intimate Head to Feasting Fox for that. Service was pretty slow but thorough. I felt like we waited forever for our checks. However, it was so nice that the server asked whether I was vegan when I ordered vegan scrambled eggs with cheese, as the cheese wasn’t vegan and the kitchen staff would be asking him to make sure I knew that. The«eggs» were a most extreme color — neon yellow, like a hilighter had colored them — and not quite like an egg, but a good substitute. The standout of the meal for me was their homemade ketchup, which tasted a little sweeter than most ketchups. I’m neither wowed nor disappointed. I’ll probably be back within the year.

Brunch is delicious. They have everything from eggs and slingers to sweet and savory crepes. Via the No Wait app and just general excellent service at Rooster, the wait is never painful. The tomato jam is a spicy-sweet treat. Ask for some arugula pesto, too, if you’re having potatoes. Having said all of these wonderful things about brunch, I must be sure to add — don’t skip dinner here. It is far less crowded at dinner. And the specials are on point.

I come here because I know what to expect. They always have have great local beers on tap and the drinks are exceptional. The food has something for everyone and the service never is below average. Today the service was so awesome I wanted to write a review! I just felt very welcomed and taken care of on the patio!

So sad to be making this review! Rooster was my go to place for brunch and for taking out-of-towners but my last two experiences have been really bad – all due to the service, not the food. The worst part is that we went there for Mother’s Day a few days ago and it kind of ruined the morning for us. Our waiter never brought the coffee, so my dad had to walk to the other side of the restaurant and avoid people bustling around – only to find out that the serve-yourself coffee(for people waiting) was out. He then walked to the back part of the restaurant and the coffee was cold. We asked our waiter three times for coffee and he never brought it. I even warned him while my dad was in the bathroom that he was getting incredibly frustrated – still he never brought coffee. Alas, the runner finally brought my dad some coffee and our order(half was right, half was unsurprisingly wrong). The two orders the server messed up(my dads and mine) were 1) two scrambled eggs with a side of bacon and 2) two scrambled eggs with a side of breakfast potatoes… Not sure how that was so difficult, some of our group’s orders were more complicated. We got our food after everyone else was finished with their meals. Not a single item was taken off of our check and he didn’t apologize, he just said«glad it all worked out, Happy Mother’s Day.» And walked away. I guess I’ll stick with the other David Bailey restaurants until Rooster figures out this service issue. Such a bummer to cross this one off my list.

One of the best brunch joints in STL proper. I love the Grand spot the most as it’s easier to access by car and there is tons of seating inside the hip interior. Naturally the place gets packed on weekends but you can reserve your spot with their app giving you an idea of how many people of head of you are left. Food-wise there’s nothing to complain about. The B&Gs are great, the slingers are top notch, and the bloodies all have wonderful taste. Last time I was there I got the ceasar bloody with clams and the girlfriend got the bloody samurai. I wasn’t a huge fan of the wasabi peas(or whatever they were) in the samurai, but both tasted great. Also, bottomless Kaldis coffee. Nothing more needs to be said there. Bottomline, if you haven’t given Rooster a chance during brunch yet do yourself a favor and go for it. If you have already I’m sure you’ve gone back.

I went to Rooster for a goodbye lunch with one of my mentors. It was my first time at Rooster. I had wanted to go before, but I didn’t want to deal with the crowd. Lets just say the crowd is there for a reason. The food is great and was definitely worth the 45 minute wait after driving around for over 25 minutes trying to find a parking spot(girl can’t parallel park to save her life. or stomach). I started my brunch with a nice Mimosa. This gave me time to browse the menu… It was extremely hard for me to decide what I should eat. There were so many things on the menu from crepes to the more American traditional breakfast items. I decided to go with traditional American items for this brunch. I ordered a Rooster Slinger. The Rooster Slinger had Potatoes, sausage, egg, biscuit smothered in gravy.(I said American. Capital A. And I ran that morning.) It was flavorful. It had the right amount of salt and grease which is something that I feel some places fail to do well. I will be going here again.

I have to preface this by disclosing that I’m used to eating at the now-closed Crepes Etc. The Negatives –Concrete floors and metal chairs lined up along a beer hall-length table makes for an institutional breakfast in a garage, but not for a cozy breakfast with crepes and good coffee. –There is no sound dampening. If the place gets more than a few people at one time, it will get hard to hear the person across from you. –My Bacon Crêpe came out quickly but was a bit dry. Choose a crêpe with a gooey filling. –My Bacon Crêpe was not filled as full as something I would have been able to get at Crepes Etc for the same price. So the Positives… Great service. Tip your servers. –Great, freshly roasted coffee from Kaldi’s. –Greeeat selection of t-shirts in the Dept. of Shameless Merchandising cabinet by the door. «Eat Local». Right on! –Pretty good prices. My g.f. and I got out after each having a crêpe and coffee for under $ 25. –Parking!(an unaccustomed luxury on S. Grand). More quantity on the fillings, a little more variety, and a little less time under the warming lights, and this place will pick up at least one more star from me. Oh, and maybe put some space between tables, too…

Yay! I love the scrambles and their crepes. See my picture uploads for the brunch menu and pictures of some items I have ordered! I have only been twice so far, but I will definitely be back and add more details to my review. The crepes are quite impressive and on the large side, so don’t worry about not being able to fill up on a single crêpe.

It’s amazing how wonderful this place is. A good location in a walkable neighborhood with a friendly staff and a great ambiance. I loved the back room with the huge open feeling and tons of sun to give the feeling of a modern country bunch minus the flies :) our waitress was awesome, offered some solid suggestions and never made me feel like just another customer, which to me is invaluable! The sunburnt cold coffee drink was delicious and new, a kick with a kick :) the atmosphere was like pure relaxation with not it overdressed or never too loud to hear the people around me. The downsides… are a too simple menu, some people like less options but I felt like you were trapped for brunch between savory and sweet with nothing really in between. The roasted chicken crêpe with guac never felt like a completely solid dish, but rather like tasty dishes on top of each other. I enjoyed it, but I would have more if the flavors just melded together versus stood so staunchly apart. The citrus butter also had like hints of orange peel and no follow through. It was like citrus smelling butter versus cirtus infused butter. I’ll Be back

Went here for brunch before heading home from St. Louis. Can’t wait to go back when we visit again! I loved the openness of the restaurant, the plethora of windows, and the décor. I also liked that you could help yourself to some coffee while waiting to be seated(but do note that you will be charged for said coffee). It was very hard to decide what to order because everything sounded so good; but when I saw they had a gluten free crêpe shell(for no extra charge!!!), I knew I had to have a crêpe. I decided on the goat cheese #1 and added an egg to the inside. It was delicious! My husband and I also split a Nutella crêpe with bananas that was equally amazing. I mean who doesn’t need dessert after breakfast, right?! Unfortunately, my husband wasn’t as excited about his breakfast, hence the 4 star score. Nothing in particular, just wasn’t special to him. The only negative I could come up with is that I would have liked more champagne in my mimosa. Looking forward to visiting again, and would also like to try some of their sister restaurants.

Rooster… you have redeemed yourself. My wife and I love brunch, and after reading and hearing so many positive reviews about Rooster, we decided to checkout their original downtown location. Unfortunately, we left unimpressed and with less money in our pockets. I thought I’d give Rooster at a second location another try. Once again, I heard lots of good things about this location, and the décor looked amazing from the outside. Huge glass windows that showed off the modern industrial interior. Walking in for the first time was no different. You were met with these tall ceilings and a open floor plan that felt very welcoming. The main room had communal tables and as you walked towards the back there was a more typical seating arrangement. Also, towards the back of the restaurant was the patio area with picnic table seating. Since it has been a little cold, the patio area was closed off, to allow additional seating without freezing your butt off. Now for the menu. Didn’t seem like it was too different from the downtown location. There were a lot of options for crepes. Crepes had their own page on the menu basically. Along with the other two guys at the table, I ended up ordering the pork steak and eggs with a biscuit. The pork, eggs, and potatoes came on a plate, and the biscuit was on another plate on the side with butter and jam. Biscuit — really nice and fluffy, definitely could tell it was baked there, the butter and whatever flavored jam it was went really well with it Potatoes — these was okay, I prefer more crispy potatoes Eggs — cooked just as I ordered them, tasted like… well. eggs Pork loin steak — nice and tender, nicely seasoned with a lot of garlic, favorite part of the dish Though the service was a little on the slower side, I enjoyed my experience here and will be back again.

Mediocre food but I do love the atmosphere of the restaurant. Like the company’s other restaurants(bailey’s range, etc) Rooster is excellently decorated. Imagine wood tables, hanging lights, artsy farsty paintings of roosters and of course the distinctive high ceiling. The Sriracha bottle on each of the tables adds a cute little touch to the restaurant. I love their attention to small details like these. The expansive windows allows beautiful natural light to flow in making the large restaurant feel even larger. It is also well situated– on a corner with plenty of parking in the back. Upon entering, I felt that the hostess wasn’t too pleasant. That didn’t dampen my mood about Rooster since I’ve encountered far worse. About twenty minutes later, we received a text that our table was ready. The service to start was a little slow since it took our waitress 10 mins before greeting us and pouring us our water. Thirsty as I was, I didn’t mind since it was extremely busy and the restaurant was at maxed occupation. I ordered the spicy chicken crêpe recommended by my waitress and my friend ordered the Slinger. We both got coffee(house kaldi’s coffee and Americano). I don’t think the food here is great. My spicy chicken crêpe was just okay. The chicken was dry and cold, tempting me believe that it was cooked long ago. The crêpe was too soft and lost that crêpe texture, a important characteristic of delicious crepes. The Slinger was also, just okay. It was a traditional Slinger that didn’t leave any lasting impressions on me. I liked our waitress; she was very friendly and helpful. Finally, come here for the service and atmosphere but don’t come here for the food itself, because that way, you won’t be disappointed.

4.5 I love this place for many reasons. Food is Delicious. Service is friendly. The modern décor is really lovely. Most of all they are one of the FEW restaurants that has FAMILYRESTROOMS. Food The king smoothie(banana/peanut butter/chia/Greek yogurt– granola– honey) — odd taste. I didn’t like it. The breakfast burger– soft biscuits and delicious eggs. Avg taste. German style sausage #2 crêpe — DELICIOUS! the apples and sausage mixture gives a sweet and savory taste. Highly recommended

5 Stars– Food 5 Stars– Menu selection 4 Stars– Cocktails/Beverages 4 Stars– Value 4 Stars– Ambiance Would I go again? An emphatic yes! What would I have again? The luscious, fluffy pancakes with one of the other fabulous looking toppings. What else would I try? The crepes, or maybe the French toast. All their cocktails looked fabulous. I want them to have a prefix menu or maybe a sampler platter. There are just so many things I would like to try! This lovely brunch spot is listed as one of the top 10 best brunches by feast magazine. The interior is very modern and open with brick walls and and large windows. The seating was tiered community style with lovely wood tables and industrial metal chairs. I really loved the chairs, they were very comfortable and springy. Each table setting was adorned with a bright spray of gladiolas. The menu was quite comprehensive and includes something for everyone. Everything from biscuits and gravy, to sausage, eggs, and bacon with homemade toast and delicious jam. They are well known for their crepes and pancakes. The crepes come in a assortment of styles, savory or sweet. You can choose either French toast or pancakes with an array of delicious toppings to choose from like caramelized bananas & nuts, berries with crème fraîche, and Nutella. There is beautiful outdoor seating as well, for those who prefer alfresco dining. As an added benefit, the entire facility, indoor and outdoor, is smoke-free!

It feels wrong to review Rooster when I still haven’t been for breakfast but I have to say that I love this place as a dinner spot. It’s a shame more people aren’t here. It’s gorgeous, intimate, and delicious. It would be the perfect place to grab food before/after a show in Grand Center. They change the menus for the seasons but man, I love coming here and trying the specials. There was this one, pork belly and shrimp, and I about ordered a second except I was stuffed. Just this last visit I got a seasonal item, some whiskey pork loin with sweet potato bread pudding and some pickled apple sauce and it instantly made me think my Thanksgiving needs each of those dishes. Pair it with the apple crêpe and cinnamon ice cream and you’ll die of happiness. Speaking of the ice cream, Rooster brings some of its Bailey’s Range sister elements to this restaurant. The ice cream is here, good cocktails are here, and even the burgers make a limited appearance. I swear I’ll get here for breakfast if you try it for dinner.

I was a huge fan of Rooster and their brunch menu! I ate there over the weekend on my visit to St. Louis, and was especially excited by the crêpe options that awaited me. Nashville just does not have many places to get crepes, so this was mostly uncharted territory for me. I started off with the house coffee blend(mmmm) and got a half order of biscuits and gravy to start. The biscuits were hearty and delicious, and the gravy was pretty good. One thing I especially loved seeing is that they had a vegetarian friendly gravy you could get instead of the sausage, if you chose to do so. My breakfast was the Bacon #2 Crêpe. A delicious crêpe filled with sharp white cheddar cheese, naturally sweet griddled onions, and bacon bacon bacon. There was an aioli sauce on the side, which was great for dipping. Beautiful plate presentation, and really fast food turnaround. We sat at a small 4 person table because we had a child with us, but I thought the community tables throughout the entire center of the restaurant’s front room was really cool. They have a back room filled with tables as well, but I did not go in, just peeked it from the front room. Lots of outdoor seating as well; all this seating is a huge plus when your’e a VERY busy(yes lines out the door) brunch spot. **Huge customer service salute: I was meeting my brother, his fiancé, and their baby at the restaurant. Being unfamiliar with the city, I was totally thrown off by the barricades placed all over the city from the marathon that was happening. My brother had to come get me and help me find a new route to the restaurant, and they patiently allowed his fiancé and the baby to hold our table for FORTYFIVEMINUTES while we found our way there. Not a complaint in site, just a smile, a «no worries» and a great experience paired with delicious food. I’m a huge fan!**
