Oh my star (s), the St. Louis Rams have a Unilocal page! I finally found the perfect recipient of my first 1 star review! I’m overjoyed but now also filled with rage as I begin to write this. So much to say. Where do I begin?
I’ll bypass the mid 1990s teams with all your favorites: Tony Banks, Lawrence Phillips, Rich Brooks, uhhh… that one guy, and I guess Eddie Kennison, and start with the Greatest Show on Turf. Wait, no I won’t. Back up. I’ll start with Lawrence Phillips.

There may not be a worse human being to ever play the game of football than Lawrence Phillips. The Rams even traded their best player, future Hall of Famer Jerome Bettis, in order to open up a spot for Phillips. There must have been a lot of bath salt usage in the Rams front office back then. With that said, this awful series of decisions paved the way for the arrival of Dick Vermeil, Marshall Faulk and one of the greatest eras in St. Louis sports!
Ahhh the 1999 to 2001 Rams. The Greatest Show on Turf. Faulk, Warner, Bruce, Holt, Hakim, Pace, Carter, Fletcher, Wistrom… Ray Agnew! NFL royalty! 2001 NFC Champions! 1999 World Champions! Who else just went from six to midnight?!
Unfortunately, it seems like it was all just a dream now, doesn’t it? They disappeared as quickly as they arrived. Derailed by the cheating piece of shit New England Patriots in Super Bowl 36. I have so many «F – k you’s» to give to the Patriots. Most of them for Bill Belicheat and Deflated Balls Brady.
I should probably give the Rams two stars because at least they gave us a few amazing years at the end of the Clinton administration. However, if you go to a restaurant and find short hairs in your pie, rat shit in your pasta, and the waitress spills hot coffee on your lap and charges you for a refill, you aren’t going to give them an extra star just because the salad was good.
Since moving to St. Louis, the Rams have had 4 winning seasons in 21 seasons. If you want to go back to the LA days (since it was the same team and front office), they have had 4 winning seasons in 26 seasons.
Since 2003, the Rammies have had a grand total of zero winning seasons. Zero seasons with a positive point differential. They have had 5 draft picks in the top 8 selections (4 in the top 2) and drafted zero Pro-​Bowlers.
At least the 2007 to 2011 Rams broke a record as they experienced the worst 5 year run in NFL history with a 15 – 65 record. 7 of those wins came in one season. Meaning they went 8 – 56 in the other four years. And you know what? I watched just about every one of those games! I was just a stupid kid at the time. I was in college. I was just learning. I really thought Steve Spagnuolo and Jason Smith would bring us a Super Bowl!
I have become better at managing my Sundays (no need to worry about Mondays, ESPN won’t let the Rams anywhere near Monday Night Football). I wake up around 9 AM, pound whiskey, and then take a nap from kickoff at 12PM until about 3PM when the opposition goes into victory formation and kneels down to close out their win. See folks, college works! I learnt!
On the plus side, we did get to enjoy all of that shitty football in a beautiful, state of the art stadium! Wait, did I say beautiful, state of the art stadium? I meant to say craptastic warehouse that is more of a giant mausoleum. St. Louis built the Rams a domed facility at the end of the dome building era. Rather than use forward thinking, they pretty much took the worst features of the Metrodome, Silverdome, and other shit holes and congealed them into one failed experiment. BTW, RC Cola is the official cola at the Edward Jones Dome. That’s how bad things have gotten.
I’m going to reserve a special paragraph for 2010 1^st overall pick Sam Bradford. Bradford is behind only tornadoes in doing the most damage to the state of Missouri. First, he beat Mizzou three times in three tries while he was the QB at Oklahoma. This included stopping the Tigers from reaching the 2007 National Championship Game. Then, he signed a 65 million dollar contract to lead the Rams to an 18−30−1 record over 5 seasons. The only positive thing I can say about Bradford is that he is better than Nick Foles, the QB the Rams acquired in a trade for Bradford.
The cherry on top of this shit sundae? The owner. A money hungry, horrible toupee wearing, crowd ducking piece of garbage that has been wanting to move the team to Los Angeles ever since he became the majority owner. F – k you, Stan Kroenke.
On the bright side, at least the Rams aren’t the Cleveland Browns.

Being a Rams fan and watching them lose, for a decade plus, hurts my heart!
I live in L.A. now, but if they bail on my hometown and move back to L.A., I will find a new team. Hoping Rams stay in StL and Raiders move to England. L.A. needs a new team or at least a team with a new name/​identity. All others including the returning Rams will not find success in L.A. Unless the stadium is all-​suites for the corporations to court business partners that visit L.A. and want up watch their team beat the Rams/​Raiders/​Chargers.
Don’t do what is easy! Do what is right for the game, it’s fans and the town the organization committed to 20 years ago. That goes for Kroenke, the staff and business partners (including NFL and StL City/​County officials) that can influence him, and everyone at practice, at camp and during the offseason. Don’t try, do!

Unilocal Challenge ⁵²⁄₁₀₀
When I was a kid the Rams were located in Los Angeles, California. Back then it was the old NFC West that included the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints. The Seahawks weren’t in the division at that time they were in the AFC West.
As a kid I remember Eric Dickerson he was my favorite running back until Barry Sanders jumped on the scene.
During the late eighties early nineties the Rams had a pretty good squad with Jim Everett at the helm throwing to Willie flipper Anderson and Henry Ellard.
Just a little off topic, who else besides me? remembers Jim Everett getting into a little fight because Jim Rome was calling him Chris Evert?
Fast forward the few years, to the «Greatest show on turf».
Wow that Rams team was pretty freaking awesome. Just imagen if Trent Green didn’t get hurt, we may never even heard of Kurt Warner. Marshall Faulk, dude he definitely was a complete back. I remember the Bills Thurman Thomas was kind of similar to Faulk. Pretty good runner and an excellent receiver out of the backfield.
For about a good decade. Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce we’re probably one of the NFL’s best duos. Cardinals fans will probably say Fitzgerald and Boldin. But I’ll say this all 4 them were great.
I got to give the Rams props this offseason. They straight jacked the Philadelphia Eagles. For those who don’t know what I’m talking about it’s the Sam Bradford for Nick Foles deal. Bravo.
The NFC West going to be tough this year I feel that the Seahawks are taking it, with the Cardinals second the Rams 3^rd and the 49ers last. But if you guys kick ass and take names. You could probably get that other wild card birth. Well who knows good luck.

St Louis Rams home the message that the best days are in the past. And I miss those days. You try to pretend the team is still successful but St Louis Rams it down your throat that they are not.
Somebody deleted my Rams stadium review which is bizarre since I’ve been there and seen 2 games there. I’ll repost it some other time, except that I didn’t have a copy of it and it’s gone forever. Not happy about that. If anyone at Unilocal sees this can you send me a copy of my STL stadium review. Thx.
First-​Hand Experience: I’ve seen the Rams play at home twice — winning one and losing one against the 49ers — and I’ve seen them get mauled by the Bills once, away from home. All times I really enjoyed watching them and think they are an excellent team and an attractive team to watch. I wish I’d been able to see them in the Kurt Warner days, I’d have given them a 5. Lovely team. I hope they stay in STL, as the city deserves them and LA can get its own team.
Now that I’ve seen every NFL team play live & been to every NFL stadium (current and former), time to review them on Unilocal!I love stadiums! I’ve been to every cool stadium in the UK & North America, due to my obsession with travel & sport. I’ve toured America as a musician for 7 years. In that time, I’ve seen sports games at (or visited when empty, or both) almost every major stadium in US and Canada. I have pictures of most which I’ll upload at some point. Also, on future travels, I plan to take new pix, and add more stadia! Watch this space!

I will always love the Rams because I love Kurt Warner, Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Marshall Faulk, and especially Dick Vermeil. I also love Trent Green and Marc Bulger for the record.
I can’t think of any delicious food in STL but I do know that they once had the greatest show on turf.
The guy that made me watch the NFL in the first place is a huge Rams fan so it sucks at the moment but that’s life. Why are the Rams so unpopular? Are they going to end up moving again? Hopefully not. They have a lovely little home there in St Louis and Dick Vermeil should seriously be given the keys to the city.
But instead of handing keys to the city to people, St Louis Rams keys down people’s throats.

THIS REVIEW IS NOT FOR THE TEAM ITSELF, BUT THE EXPERIENCE RECEIVED DURING A TRAINING CAMP PRACTICE VISIT.
So this summer, I was finally able to travel to STL and see my beloved Rams during training camp. My work is busiest during the month of August, so time off is very difficult to come by. Luckily, I was able to get enough time off for a 4 day weekend. I chose the weekend of August 18 – 19, with me flying out Wednesday night after work and flying back Sunday some time. This was perfect for me because on Thursday, not only did the Rams have an open practice to the public, but Peter King from SI would also be in attendance. I got there about 1 ½ hours early to make sure I would get parking, seating, et al. This was my chance and I would execute perfectly!
Now one thing you need to understand, it was very cloudy that day and the forecast called for rain. I knew ahead of time that the Rams practices were held outdoors, but with the beautiful Continuity X Training Center, they would surely have the space to move indoors if at all possible.
So practice starts at 3:30, I’m there at 2, waiting right outside the gate to go inside. About 30 feet away (but well within the gates that security is restricting access) was a trailer set up with a plethora of Rams gear. I asked the security guard if it were possible to go to that trailer and spend some of my hard earned money, to which I was denied. Somewhere in between 2:25 and 2:30 (again, I was allowed into the complex at 2:30) the rain started, and it started pouring. The lady running the merchandise station decided to close it up because of the rain. So once we got access to the complex, strike one for the visit was the fact that I could not gain access to the ultra secure parking lot encompassed by security five minutes early to throw away my hard earned money on apparel that the NFL and Nike will change each year. This was frustrating, but that was not why I went, so I was not discouraged.
As the rain continued, the Rams staff invited all the visitors into the main lobby of the headquarters to try and keep everyone dry. As we walked inside, there were two tables set up on the right hand side handing out passes to community partners who were also here to see practice. Prior to the trip, I stocked up on the new Nike gear, mainly because I like Nike soooo much more than Reebok. So I went to practice decked out in brand new Nike Sideline Gear. So much so, many Rams fans approached me asking questions about practice. While inside the lobby, many staff members came up to me asking if I was part of the community group. I said no, and began to explain that I just came out for the weekend, but no one cared beyond my «no.» At around 3:15 PM, staff started coming around informing everyone that if they were not part of the community group, you had to leave. Outdoor practice was cancelled, so they were moving indoors, and those who had passes were the only ones granted access to the practice.
One last thing that really chapped my ass — If you are still reading, thanks! The Rams will not let adult get autographs from players after practice. In order to get an autograph, you have to be under the age of 14. Obviously, if I were there in person, I would let any children ahead of me to get an autograph. But my question for the entire Rams organization, including E. Stanley Kronos, is how many 14 year olds purchased season tickets last year? How much merchandise have they purchased? Single game tickets? I would guess not that many. I would be willing to bet their parents spend their hard earned money on tickets, etc. So why not allow your customer base to enjoy an autograph from their favorite players?
Sadly, because of how terrible this experience was, I must give the Rams 1 star. I am still a Rams fan, and always will be. I love the team very much. But as a fan, I am ultra disappointed that I fought, and risked my job, to attend a training camp practice, and the Rams kicked everyone out when it went inside. I can guarantee you I will never attempt to see training camp again.

Had some good moments, a chip from one dominant season and an appearance the following season. From it’s days in LA to STL — the rams have been average to below average throughout its existence.
Grade: C

I found Mike «genius in his own mind» Martz unbearable and the whole Greatest Show on Turf, although exciting, just not my idea of football (let’s just say I like offence but I much prefer non-​dome teams). Kurt Warner was a great story but the whole fact that the Frontieres ripped that team out of LA where they belong. Then they mess with the whole look – gold horns?

Have fun with Ndamukong Suh, and thanks for moving to St. Louis and preventing the Pats from doing the same thing :)
