St. Louis Science Center’s Run for the Stars

The St. Louis Science Center’s Run for the Starts is a great race. I think this would be ideal for a first time racer. Its small, so its not intimidating however, large enough that varied ages and abilities are represented.
This race starts at the Science Center and gives you a nice jog through the park, and even better… you can do a 5K or 10K!
This is more of a family event that a lot of races i have been to. They have a kids race, along with activities for kids to enjoy which I thought was neat. There was also some serious food and beverages avialbe to post-​race. They had the usual bananas and bagels… but also gooey butter cake and sno-​cones! I also liked being able to go walk around the Science Center and cool off a bit after the race… it was a bit hot and sunny outside!

Woo woo! This was a FUN race. And I love races that are for a good cause! Double whammy!
Like Joselyn said, this is a great race for beginner racers, but it also appeals to more experienced runner, which is cool (I still place myself in the first category, if you were wondering!)
I like that you could choose between a 5K or a 10K. Something for everyone! I’m a glutton for punishment (or just crazy!) so I did the 10K. It was awesome! It was a huge loop all around Forest Park, which kicked ass. It even incorporated some trail running into the mix, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I think this is another one of those races that I’m going to do year after year. Well done, Science Center!
