My boyfriend I came to St. Louis to watch a hockey game. We stayed at the Omni, which was absolutely wonderful. Everyone was super nice and went out of their way to accommodate our every need. Both nights we stayed, we had a nightcap at the mahogany grill. While we didn’t eat, mainly because we are vegan and the food offered wasn’t something we would eat, the staff and drinks were awesome. Robin was our bartender both nights and she was just awesome. We had a great time chatting with her about St. Louis and she just made the experience better. Thank you, robin. Whenever we come back to STL, we will for sure stay at the Omni again and have drinks with robin!

Terrible service and mediocre food. Nice people who can’t find their backside with both hands.

Regretfully, I have to agree with all of the other reviewers. I stayed at the Omni Hotel for 5 days and looked forward to having this be my convenient night spot for a relaxing dinner, or at the very least, a night cap. What a disappointment! This place has so much potential, but falls severely short of barely passing muster. The dark wood interior is beautiful and evokes a sense of historic grandeur. Inspired by the décor, I ordered a glass of cabernet and the steak. Sadly, I think I would have gotten a better steak at half the price at some mediocre food chain like Red Lobster. The only reason I am giving this place more than 1 star is because the wait staff and bartender were very attentive and friendly. It is a crying shame that they have to serve disappointing food to solid-paying hotel guests. I was so turned off by this experience that I did everything in my power to stay away from the Mahogany Grilled for the rest of my conference.

I’ll start off this review as saying that I have already posted a review of the Omni itself, but I came across this as a separate review itself and needed to post this. The décor itself is lovely with all the hard wood and pretty cool bar with the large clock in the middle, I dig that. Now, as for the food well there needs to be some kind of overhaul on that. I’ll go on record as saying that I have only eaten here during the breakfast hours on(Sat/Sun). The food was okay, but for 12 bucks for a buffet they need to have a better selection for what they are charging. They had the usual suspects such as eggs, bacon, sausage and french toast along with bagels, bread, pastries and some cereal but really for that price there should have been a little more of a selection. I will admit that it did taste good, and the waitstaff were friendly(abiet, they did seem a little bored since there weren’t but 2 or 3 in there along with myself and another person at the time.). I DO think they overprice some things such as 5 bucks for yogurt and then another 5 bucks for a small(very small) cup of fruit. Yeah, that lost it a star for over priced, small plates. All in all, I loved the look of the bar, but not that it was like a ghost town. I loved the hotel, but not the grille!

I came down for lunch, and absolutely enjoyed it. The pretzel rolls they placed as appetizers were delicious, and the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken was perhaps the best I’ve ever had. Food came quickly, service was great, and had no issues overall. The carrot cake was also quite good.

Seriously? Omni Hotel, really? From the outside, the heavy wood décor looks posh. When you step inside, you’re in some run-down, cheap establishment where the dinner menu consists mainly of sandwiches and banal appetizers(like nachos). None of the dishes spoke to me… so I ordered the steak. It came with sauteed broccoli and pre-cut vegetables(peppers and onions), and sweet potato fries. The quality of the meat was decent, but the steak sauce was basically A-1 sauce with peppercorns, and the vegetables were seasoned more or less in the same way. The sweet potato fries were decent. But $ 20 for this? No way.

They really need to work on this place. Nice space with untapped potential. I didn’t even consider eating there. Drink was pretty good.

We ate here for what we thought was going to be a romantic dinner, we got all dressed up, and wound up eating in what was basically the lounge of a hotel. I’ve eaten in restaurants attached to a hotel before that were completely seperate from the hotel, this one was small and empty, we were the only ones there. The place was cute and nice, but it felt exactly like a hotel lounge bar. The menu also had very few choices on it, was only 18×14 page, on just 1 side of it. We had a very good waitress/bartender, my only complaint with her was that when our food came she started a long conversation, so much so that our food was cold. But I can’t really fault her, she looked bored as all get out. The meal was reasonably priced, other than it being cold, but that could have been fixed by eating it when the food arrived.
