Top Shelf Tattoos

Friends of my wife and I suggested we go here when we wanted to get more tattoos. We started getting tattoos from Dale which turned out great. Everyone should check out this place. Dale is working on a portrait of my grandpa right now

Lace is right. I wrote a review about one individual and it was removed. Guess they fear the truth coming out about the people there. Just go to their FB page and their work speaks for itself. Most places post their best work, but if the work they post is their best, I would hate to see their worse. Not professional, the work is weak, and they delete negative reviews. Guess not enough people have good things to say about this place.

Went in to have an old tattoo covered up and Dale did a great job using a skull and tree branches to do that. It’s very much me and two things that I love and describe me. I would recommend them to anyone. The shop is very nice and not your typical tattoo shop. All the guys seemed to be very friendly and out going so I was very comfortable having my work done. I will diffenently be going back to have more work done.

This is just an update on one shop employee’s ridiculous behavior that has ensued since my original review was posted. And yes, this appears to be the same «Kevin» who has posted fake reviews for Top Shelf on other websites.

6÷4÷14 Top Shelf Tattoo artist Kevin has finally, publicly admitted (link below!) that he wasn’t even there the night I came to to the shop. For the last year, he has been making horrendous claims about my character ever since I posted my reviews, in a douchey attempt to justify trying to rip me off (and yes, he says that Top Shelf DELIBERATELY attempted to rip me off). He has insisted that when I called the shop, he was the person I talked to, and when I went to the shop, he was there and saw me. Almost a year later, he has admitted that it was all a big fat lie! We’ve never even met or spoke to each-​other! He has been lying about this since last year, up until now. He even admits that Top Shelf deliberately tried to rip me off. Insane. See it for yourself:
This is the SAME GUY (Kevin) who told someone else he should «kill himself» for giving advice to a customer on a sleeve tattoo. What the fuck, dude? The review wherein this was mentioned on Unilocal (in addition to Foursquare) was downvoted, so you’ll have to google the business and look at the google review to see that story.
Like I said, guys, AVOID these tools! I went with Self Inflicted on Wash Ave, and had an AMAZING experience for HALF the price of what Top Shelf was asking.

Top shelf gets the highest honors from me. My experience was excellent, the work was professional and the environment was not like other places I have been. If you are in the area and looking to get something awesome this is the place, even if your not its worth the trip.

I have known the owner Dale for a long time. He has done every tattoo I have, and my nose piercing as well. He has also tattooed several of my friends. He does great work, he is a pleasure to work with.

I have had two of my tattoos done by Dale. Dale is a phenomenal artist and was able to communicate my vague ideas into something that was gorgeous. The vibrant colors used with the peacock feather he drew up to go with the curve of my hip are just amazing. He also did a tattoo for me from an illustration from a book I read as a kid. He stayed true to the design of that illustration. Next time I have the urge for a tattoo (which should be here soon), I will without a doubt be returning to Dale.

I came here to have a Japanese Maple Leaf tattoo done. The shop was clean and hygiene conscious. All of the staff was friendly, curious, and professional at all times. The ink turned out beautiful «Thanks Kevin». #1 shop in STL!
