Truffles

I’m a fan of the neighborhood shop, and there’s no doubt this one is a decent one, but this review is for the Thanksgiving meal package I ordered and picked up yesterday. I really thought this was going to be special… but what I got was mediocre at best.
$ 16.00 /​Brioche stuffing — sounds great but turned out bland and nothing more than broken pieces of brioche bread with little to no other flavor but a few dried cranberries sprinkled on top. Literally the worst interpretation of «stuffing».
$ 18.00 /​Brussel Sprouts — tasty but not cooked enough.
$ 18.00 /​green bean casserole = just uncooked green beans with can of mushroom soup dumped on top. That was it!
$ 12.00 /​mashed potatoes — thick and dry.
$ 4.99 /​dinner rolls — hard and dry tasted more than a day old.
$ 14.99 /​apple pie — looked straight off the shelf of the grocery store.
$ 51.10 /​4.65LB smoked turkey breast — best thing I ordered. There was a lot of flavor in the rub and it was pretty juicy.
Verdict…I could’ve saved $ 100 just doing the simple sides myself. There were no heating instructions included, and because everything was at different levels of doneness I basically had to cook everything through so it WASN’T WORTH THE TIME TO DRIVE INTO STL TO PICK IT UP, or the $ 160.

QUALITY!!! A jewel in the heart of Ladue. Everything here is top notch… especially the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very happy to have this place so close to home.

Wonderful place. Service is great. Premade items are very good. Open Sunday. And, the seafood is surprisingly good as well. Highly recommend.

This place is excellent. Absolute highest quality meat and prepared foods. House bacon is amazing.
Treat yourself to some great food. Also, you don’t always think fish when you go to the butcher, but they have the best salmon around.

Holy moly!!! What a place. The guys even bake! Fresh bread cookies. They have a wonderful assortment of premade foods. Duck fat, beef and bacon. They age their own meats. The deli meats also homemade and holy shit is all I can say. He even makes his own honey from his bee hives what don’t they do. if your a foodie this place is a MUST! I bought their Sunday sauce and being Italian I was impressed. I also bought Andoulle sausge Italian sausage pastrami corned beef homemade pork rinds beef jerky. Had I not just went to schnucks for meat I would have gotten their steaks and ribs. Just a wonderful wonderful experience. They were so very nice and helpful. Im so glad I stumbled upon this place. I will definitely be back

Just over a month ago Truffles opened their sister store — a butcher, grocer and sandwich shop. It is right next to truffles, in the adjacent strip mall. For some reason they share the same address but they’re different buildings with different entrances and different hours. Fortunately, they are open late though.
I love the place. Very well done. Beautiful — like what you’d expect from a high end butcher. Very much in line with Publican Quality Meats in Chicago. They have great meat: very nice cuts. A nice complimentary offering of products (beyond meat): several sausages, spreads, and breads. They have preserves and sandwiches. They allowed me to place an order for Blood Sausage. The one thing that would be better (for me) would be if it were closer to CWE or STL. Buried in Ladue makes it a bit of a trek, but not really not that inconvenient either.
