Love these guys. They’re super knowledgeable, really chill and friendly, and have a fantastic selection of craft beer that they keep current. Keep them in mind for specialty beers and limited runs. If Surly puts out a limited release, you can bet they’ve got some!

This is a great neighborhood liquor store. They keep a good variety of libations in stock, which makes it fun to see what’s new. Customer service is good and the prices are nice. For us, this is our first choice when we’re looking to purchase alcohol.

By far the best craft beer selection on this side of town. Very helpful, and reasonably priced. My kind of place!

Very similar to their other store down the street. I am likely just imagining it, but it seems that they have a better selection though, and the I’m not imagining that the larger space allows for a better layout. The people are friendly and not afraid of making conversation or suggestions. It took me awhile to realize they separated the fancy beer from everyday beer with a the cider buffering the two zones so there’s less fighting(I assume). And the whiskey is right by the fancy beer so that’s a happy little corner for me in the store.

When I first moved to the twin cities, I moved to minneapolis like usual. I had kids so I moved to NE so i frequented surdyks. a lot. i weaved thru the crowds for the hard to find alcohol. I have since bought a house. I landed in east st paul. every friday night my husband cashes his paycheck at walmart in west saint paul. we usually go to mgm but hell booze mart is across the street lets try it YESPLEASE! always stocked of surly. if they’re out they tell us the day it comes back in. they always try to stock nordeast for me. browsing their beer coolers reminds me of being back in cali at ralphs. i love finding new beers and this is the place! and the employees are always willing to help us. we come here weekly. its our beer spot. prices are good. selection is top notch. I used to be mayor of it on foursquare til they changed it to so you can only use the app and not the mobile *sadface. * you can generally find us here once a weekend. maybe once during a weekday. for the east metro. its awesome if you are looking for hard to find beers.

I’m not even sure why I stopped… So, with today’s winter sloppy mess, I just wanted to get out of the neighborhood by my work where my regular store — Big Top Liquors is located. I was out and about in West St. Paul and popped in. The parking lot was dead and I was the only person in the store. There were 3 people working. All 3 talking, 2 of them also texting or monkeying around on their phones. I stopped to get a bottle of wine for a gift. I wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted so I was just browsing. I quickly learned there is no rhyme or reason to the store. I didn’t like it. I felt cramped and out of place. I found a Spanish red that looked good enough and I looked for a big can of domestic lite beer as a joke. I couldn’t find it. I asked the cashier and she said no. I think she thought I was nuts. Whatever. They were too busy discussing whether or not to turn on the Vikes game to thank me. FYI — the guy said the TV would be snowy, the girls wanted to turn the game on, I just wanted a thank you. I will not go back. I’m actually kind of disappointed in myself for buying something there.

Booze Mart used to be a three star place(they didn’t even have Grain Belt Premium), but they recently added a ton of fridge space for tons of microbrews and small brew/cider houses. I was literally amazed by the selection, and wish I had had more time to pick out a few cases/bottles to bring home. Booze Mart has elevated it’s game to the same level as Surdyks or Big Top as far as selection goes. Plus, you gotta love the name!

Just recently visited Boozemart in hopes that they’d have some Surly Smoke on hand. My normal store of choice is petschens southview liquor down the street from here. I walked in the door and was greeted promptly by a nice young lady. I asked her if they had Smoke in yet, she had no clue. Maybe I’m being overly critical but when a beer has been hyped this much you should know a bit more about it. Oh well, I quickly blew it off because since the last time I’d been there they added a monstrous craft/imports fridge that stretches probably near 90 ft or so. It’s the biggest I’ve ever seen. Huge selection of Rogue which I never see, 750ml bottles of westmalle beers and other trappists, tons of hard to find regional beers and imports, very impressive. The prices were incredibly reasonable too. The bad, if you’ve got a gigantic craft and import selection why don’t you hire people who are at least somewhat knowledgeable about what you have in stock? Just like a hardware store, if I go in there and someone is wearing business attire and knows nothing about hardware I probably won’t go back. For now I think I’ll stay where the service is outstanding and the selection is above average and leave this place for people who like to shop at walmart
